NASI DAGANG

Nasi Dagang is the main food in
Terengganu. Nasi Dagang is usually a
breakfast dish. Nasi Dagang is also a
dish for special occasions. Nasi Dagang
is usually made from a mixture of
normal rice and glutinous rice and
cooked with coconut milk to be
steamed. The fish used is usually Aya
Hitam (cob fish), which is a large, fresh
cut. In addition, pickled cucumbers are
also available. There are a few
restaurants recommended by the citizen
of Terengganu such as Nasi Dagang
Warisan, Kedai Nasi Dagang Kubang
Badak, and Nasi Dagang Kak Jah.

PAUNG GORENG

Paung goreng or kuih bom inti ikan is a
food served for afternoon tea. The crispy
outer part of the flour makes it tastier.This
cake is popular in Terengganu and is
widely sold, especially as an afternoon tea
with satar and grilled glutinous rice. This
unique traditional East Coast cake is easy
to prepare and does not use many
ingredients. Suitable for breakfast and
afternoon tea. Some also call it a bomb
cake because it usually explodes when
fried Usually fried crisp and crispy it tastes
better.

KELANTAN

NASI KAK WOK

The recipe for Kelantan's Nasi Kak Wok has
been passed down through the generations.
The late Allahyarhamah Mek Wook Hassan,
better known by his stage name Kak Wok,
served as its inspiration. Nasi Kakwok
became popular among the locals of Kota
Bharu and has now extended to others living
outside of Kelantan. Nasi Kak Wok is not
just in the name it also has a thick, spicy
curry and was sold for a very low price back
then. Due to Nasi Kak Wok's success, several
restaurants have now started serving dishes
that are identical to it. It provides a
comprehensive supper at a fair price with
just white rice, tiny pieces of turmeric-fried
chicken, dalca vegetable sauce, and sambal
lada squeezed with lemon-kasturi acid. In
the state of Kelantan, numerous branches
have already been established. Locals and
tourists alike are drawn to the restaurant
because of its prime position to sample and
enjoy the food

NASI TUMPANG

Nasi tumpang or in the dialect of Kelantan
"nasi tupe". It is a traditional food of the
State of Kelantan since ages and has become
an identity in the State of Cik Siti Wan
Kembang. It is sold in Kota Bharu especially
at Kubang Pasu Market and has a cheap
price. The uniqueness of this rice is that the
rice is placed alternately or layered with side
dishes. In addition, the recipe for making
Tumpang rice is basically the same, only the
side dishes added may be different according
to the buyer's wishes.In fact, if examined in
terms of shape, taste and the history behind
these two toppings, they are also different.
In the meantime, one of the special
characteristics of nasi tumpang is related to
the name of nasi tumpang, which is actually
taken because of the method of filling and
the arrangement of side dishes that seem to
'ride' on each other. This is because each
side dish that is arranged alternately and
rides together with rice is different,
according to the taste and suitability that a
person wants.

NASI LEMUNI

Nasi Lemuni is black in colour and cooked

using lemuni leaves, which are becoming

increasingly difficult to find these days.

This dish is usually on the menu for

women after giving birth and during

abstinence because the ingredients that

also use black pepper are very

appropriate.Nasi Lemuni can be found

around Kuala Kangsar and also

Lenggong, especially during the month of

Ramadhan. It tastes a little spicy and is

eaten with coconut flakes.Other than

that, Nasi Lemuni can treat minor

wounds, legundi, rheumatism, treat

mothers after childbirth, stop blood

vomiting, stop animal bites from

spreading, and act as an anthelmintic.

PENJAN UBI KAYU

Almost extinct is the traditional silver
food known as Penjan Ubi Kayu. The
flavour of Penjan Ubi Kayu is typically
enjoyed by elderly residents of the
village or regular villagers.This Penjan
Ubi Kayu has a sweet flavour and is
simple to make. The ingredients
needed to make this recipe are very
simple is pandan leaves, brown sugar,
melaka sugar, and a mixture of jaggery
flour and water.

Kedah Laksa is a type of gravy food that is
famous,not only in Kedah but the whole of
Malaysia. It is also known as North laksa or
kechai bay laksa.This traditional food
becomes a 'must dish' particularly during
the Malay festive seasons,HariRaya Aidil
Fitri and Hari Raya Aidil Adha.The basic
ingredients for preparing this special dish
are rice laksa. For the gravy are puffer fish,
belacan, asam keping, chili, salt and egg. To
serve the laksa, the rice-laksa is mixed with
the gravy and added with sliced cucumber
and some fresh leaves of local vegetables.
The Kedah laksa is sell by the local Kedahan
in small stalls within the towns in Kedah. A
plate of laksa kedah because about RM1.50.
It is very popular amoung the elderice in
Malaysia ,particulary state in the northands
states in Malaysia.

KUIH KARAS

Kuih karas are sweets found in the state of
Kedah Darul Aman. Kuih karas is a kind of
traditional cake made from rice flour. It has
a shape like a fine mesh like vermicelli but
it is crunchy and tastes sweet. Kuih karas
has a shape like a fine mesh that is quite
hard and has a sweet and crisp taste. Kuih
karas is produced by using a mixture of
liquid rice flour that is calculated using a
special mold in hot oil until golden yellow.
It is then lifted and folded according to
one's creativity. Karas D' Kirai has
produced a variety of flavors including
original, spicy, pandan, chocolate and
strawberry flavors. This proves that kuih
karas which used to be a traditional kuih
can be innovated with a variety of flavors.
In Kedah, this cake is usually found in Kota
Setar District. It is perfect to eat while
drinking tea with a hot cup of coffee. This
cake is a traditional cake made from rice
flour. It has a shape like a fine mesh like

MELAKA

INANG INANG

Renginang or also called inang-inang is a
snack originating from Melaka and its name
is taken from the title of mak inang in the
palace who created it, who is the nanny of
the children of the king of Melaka. Inang-
inang is made of glutinous rice, salt and a
little dye. Glutinous rice will be soaked for 2
days and then steamed for half an hour.
During steaming, the dye will be mixed into
the host.The host is formed into a round
shape using a mold and will be dried until
dry.Inang-inang, like other rice crackers, has
almost the same taste which is salty taste.
So, to increase the delicacy of the inang-
inang, you can sprinkle the inang-inang with
sugar or eat it with Melaka sugar

GULAI TEMPOYAK

Tempoyak is a famous traditional food from the state of
Pahang. Tempoyak is popular in Temerloh and Lipis
districts. Tempoyak is a Malay condiment made from
fermented durian. Tempoyak is usually cooked with
silver catfish. Examples of dishes that use tempoyak
are Gulai Ikan Patin Tempoyak. The sour taste of
tempoyak and the spicy rice chilli can increase a
person's appetite. One of the best places to eat Ikan
Patin Tempoyak in Malaysia is in the town of Temerloh
in Pahang. It is a popular spot amongst Malaysians,
and it is well recommended to go for a taste of Ikan
Patin Tempoyak located in Bukit Desa Semantan in
Temerloh, Pahang, which is restaurant Kancil Raja
Patin.

PUDING DIRAJA @ JALA MAS

One of the dessert dishes offered to the Royal Family of
Pahang is Puding Di Raja @ Jala Mas. From Istana Pahang
also comes this dessert menu. The main ingredient in royal
pudding is a golden net made from duck egg yolk. It was
replaced by using chicken egg yolks because of the high
cost.The main components in the royal pudding are prunes,
cherries, cashew nuts and sweet fatty bananas. Next, in
terms of production, royal pudding is made in a different
way than other types of pudding. The components for other
puddings are usually combined only once, but royal
puddings are not. The taste of this royal pudding is very
sweet and greasy. It is topped with cherry flavoured fruit
candy, prunes and cashew nuts over a sweet cream made
from milk. Nowadays, royal pudding is popularly among the
people and has been served during Ramadan.
