To Begin, cut a piece of thread about 6-7 inches long
Rub the thread across the pencil to make sure the thread
is completely coated all the way around.
Step 1.
Begin with the primary vertical markings. Find the Center of the Face. Hold the
string vertically with only about 2 inches of the length and press down at this
center point.
Typically this will align with the center of the cupids bow of the lips.
Step 2.
To mark the Head/Start of the Brow. You want to be BETWEEN the inner
canthus and the bridge of the nose.
Ensuring that your markings are an equal distance from center.
*if ensuring equal distance is a challenge then you will need a calipher or brow ruler
Step 3.
Mark the highest point of the brow commonly known a the arch. Ideally
this is going to fall somewhere on the outside of the Iris.
Step 4.
Mark the end of the tail by holding one end of the string at the center of the
chin and bringing it up along the outer canthus.
Step 5.
Eyebrows naturally rest directly on the Orbital Rim. To assess the height
of the brow, typically the wideste portion. Hold your string horizontally
and mark at the top of the orbital rim and the bottom, intersecting with
the markings for the head.
Step 6.
The apex or upper arch of the brow is going to be the highest point of
the brow. Hold your string horizontally and mark these points on both
sides ensuring that your marking is level.
Step 7.
Create the marking for the upper body by holding your string level,
holding one at the apex and the other at the head.
Step 8.
for the upper tail, it is important to make sure your angle is the same on
both sides. By connecting holding one end of the string at the end/tail,
connecting through the apex and meeting in the center, it is easy to
ensure symmetry.
Step 9.
The lower body will connect with the Arch and the head.
Step 10.
The lower tail will connect with the arch and the tail
Finally
you will create softness by manually curving the upper and lower arch.
Voila!

Remember! Even though your mapping
will be perfectly symmetrical...the human
face typically is not!
