TAWANBONDOI TO CONTINUE THE BUDDHIST TRADITION, UPHOLDING MORALITY AND SHINING BRIGHTLY WITH THE LIGHT OF DHAMMA THROUGHOUT THE MOUNTAIN.

TAWAN BONDOI PROJ ECT The TAWAN BONDOI project aims to spread Buddhism to the mountain communities of Northern Thailand by providing social welfare and community development through the SANGTAWAN Club, which is a public benefit organization. The club brings together young people from the mountains who are passionate about volunteering for Buddhism and public works. They organize various activities such as morality camps, forest planting, and school building, with the goal of cultivating morality and promoting Dhamma as a guideline for living life. The ultimate aim is to create a culture that protects life from evil and fosters leadership in doing good for society.

SANGTAWAN Club was founded in 2012. It all started with the TAWAN BON DOI team that organized moral activities for children and youth in the Omkoi district. The team managed to bring together a group of young people who were passionate about helping with Buddhism and doing good deeds for the public benefit. The activities were mainly held in the area situated on top of the mountain. Nowadays, the club has expanded its network from Omkoi District to Hod District, Chom Thong District, Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai Province, Mae Sariang District, Sop Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province and Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province. In each district, there is a club monk and a club leader who started by participating in the Morality Camp project organized and realized the value of organizing activities. They are now enthusiastic to join hands in sending good deeds to the younger generation. 1. 2. It is proposed to establish a youth network of the Sangtawan Club in universities to support and guide the younger members of the club who are pursuing higher education. The goal of this initiative is to cultivate a passionate and devoted younger generation that aspires to volunteer and contribute to the mission of spreading Buddhism in the pinnacles. This initiative aims to particularly focus on younger tribesmen hailing from various pinnacles.

There are currently over 500 young people who have joined as members and are taking care of each other as a network of older members take care of younger siblings. Everyone plays a vital role in organizing public benefit activities such as planting forests, building weirs, and developing schools. They also collect garbage in public areas, develop temples, and engage in other similar activities. The Sangtawan Club has been expanding rapidly, and it now has an increasing number of members every year. Most of the youth members belong to faraway villages, and they come with the intention of continuing their studies at the high school level at Sop Moei Witthayakhom School. All the students possess a volunteer spirit, and they are willing to help with clubs and Buddhist events. Therefore, the team has found a place called Baan Saeng Tawan Sop Moei, where high school members could reside near the school. It aims to be a place of moral cultivation and training for the students based on the principles of universal goodness. SAENG TAWAN SOP MOEI HOME
