All About Me

By:Selah Adams
Period 5

Narrative #1

I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska at
Fort Wainwright Army Base. My mom had
to stop working in the Air force
because she didn't want both her and
my dad working at the same time, also
so she can take care of me. My uncle
came around 5 min. after I was born,
but when he came, he was the first
person I smiled at. My grandma Ti Ti
and Auntie Adijat came to see me
also. She was only 11(about to turn
12) at the time. My mom’s baby shower
was a month before I was born.
Everyone played games, listened to
music, and for presents, I got toys,
baby clothes, and toiletries.

Narrative #2

An important life event that shaped
who I am was my sister’s birth because
it taught me to be responsible, so
when I grow up, and choose to have a
child, I would know what to expect. I
was 6 in 1st grade, and I knew if I
got called out of class that day, that
my sister was born. My dad picked me
up from the main office, and we headed
straight for the hospital my mom was
at. Lani was born on October 27, 2010.
My 2 neighbors were there also. After
my mom woke up, I got to hold the
baby, and after that, we had Popeyes
Chicken. We watched movies and just
talked about things were going to be
different now that I was a big sister.

Narrative #3

An important life event that shaped
my life was my 13th birthday. It was
the birthday that confirmed that I
was a teenager, and that school and
life was just going to get harder. My
parents told me that I was going to
have more responsibilities as I grow
older, so this was kind of like an
awakening for me. My Aunt and my two
cousins came to visit, and we went to
Olive Garden for dinner. The next
day, I didn’t really do anything
except talk to my friends on Snapchat
and chilled with my family.

Narrative #4

An important life event that
shaped who I am was the People To
People Leadership Ambassador Field
Trip. This is important because it
showed me that everyone is equal and
it helped me understand U.S. History
better. I had really fun time. I
went to Washington D.C. and stayed in
a hotel room with 3 other girls. We
went to national monuments like the
Martin Luther King Memorial, the
Washington Monument, the Jefferson
Monument, the Lincoln Memorial,and
others. Everyday, I would write in my
english journal, and write a journal
entry.
