WARM UP

•Two laps around the court to get the
blood flowing and the heart pumping

•Then a brief stretch to get the muscles
ready for the planned games!

TEXAS SNOWMAN

Instructions
• Divide class into two teams and line them up on side of each

other
• On “go,” The first person runs to the equipment pile and picks

up one piece of equipment, runs to the designated place to
build the snowman and puts it in place.
• They then return back to the line and tags the hand of the next
person. That person then takes their turn.
Objective
• To be the first team to completely build the snowman
Equipment
Each team will need: 2-3 hula hoops (head), 2 Lummi sticks(arms),
3 poly spots (buttons)1 small cone (nose), 2 bean bags (eyes), 2
small ropes (scarf)

STEAL THE BACON

Instructions
• Divide students into two teams.
• The teams line up opposite sides of the matted area. Each
team member is given a number.
• The instructor throws a bean bag into play and then calls a
number. These two participants race to secure the bean bag.
• The person that gets the bean bag tries to get back to their line
before the other person tags them.
Objective
• The person that gets the bean bag tries to get back to their line
before the other person tags them team with the most points
wins
Equipment
• Beanbag (bacon)

TIC-TAC-TOE RELAY

Instructions
• Divide class into two teams and line them up on side of each other.
• Place bean bags next to each team and 9 hula hoops on the other
side if the gym
• On “go,” each team will run to hula hoops and place bean bag into
one of hoops
• They then return back to the line and tags the hand of the next
person. That person then takes their turn
Objective
• To to be the first team to get tic-tac-toe
Equipment
• Each team will need: 6 bean bags ( different colors for each team)

HOOP PASS

Instructions
• Divide students into two teams.
• Students move the ball down the court (no dribbling).
• There will be one (or two) hula hoop(s) on each end of the court.
• Players cannot monkey guard hoop, nor can players be inside

the hoop for more than 3 seconds at a time. Each successful
catch inside the hoop is worth one point.
Objective
• Score on your opponent’s hoop by receiving a pass inside the
hoop.
Equipment
• Two hula hoops and a basketball

ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS Instructions

• Divide students into two teams.

• The teams line up opposite sides of the matted area. Each team
member is given a number.

• Instructor shows class designated movements
• Rock : bending over hands hanging toward feet
• Paper: arms extended out in front
• Scissors : arms stretched out to the ceiling

• The losing team has to run back to their designated safe without
getting tagged by the winning team

Objective

• To be the team with the most people on it

Equipment

• N/A

CAPTURE THE FLAG

Instructions
• Divide up class into two teams.
• Each team starts at their end of the court, once the whistle blows players

can then try and invade their opponent’s territory.
• Once you cross center line into your opponent’s territory, you can be

tagged. If you are tagged, you are frozen, and must stand where you
were caught.
• In order to get unfrozen, either instructor calls “Jail break” or if your
teammate must come tag you
Objective
• Capture the other teams flag and safely bring it back to their teams base
Equipment
4 Cones to mark goal for flags, 2 bean bags (flags), and different color
flag belts for each team

JUMP ROPE RELAY

Instructions
• Divide class into two teams.
• Give first child from each team a jump rope.
• Children jump rope to turning point and back.
• When they return to start they hand jump rope to their
teammate and sit at the back of the line.
Objective
• First team with all members sitting wins.
Equipment
• Each team will need 2 jump ropes.

DODGEBALL Instructions
• Divide class into teams of two.

• Dodgeballs are lined up down the center of the court. You must hit
players shoulder and below in order to get them out. Ways to get
out:
• If you are hit shoulder and below by a ball
• If you try to catch a ball and drop it If someone on the other

team catches a ball you threw
• If a ball hits one of your teammates and deflects off you as well

Objective
• Hit players on the opposite team to get them out

Equipment

• 4 cones, 6-8 dodgeballs

FOUR KINGS TAG

Instructions

• Select four students to be "Kings" and pile bean bags of each color
in the center of the field.

• On your signal, the kings attempt to tag other students. Any students
who are tagged become that king's knight and must run to the
center of the field to put on a pinnie of the same color as their king.
The knights then also attempt to tag other players on behalf of
their kingdom.

• Play for a certain amount of time or until all players have been
tagged.

Objective

• To be on the team with the most people(the king who captures the
most knights is the winner)

Equipment

• 4 different colored pinnies (10 of each color)

ROCKET SHUTTLE RELAY

Instructions
• Divide your class into teams of three.
• Each team receives a hula hoop.
• On your whistle, the first member on each team steps into their hoop,

holds it at waist level, then runs to the other side of the gym and
back.
• When the first runner returns, teammate number two steps into the
hoop and together, the two teammates run back across the gym. Then
the third member gets into the loop and they shuffle as fast as
possible across the the gym.
Objective
• To be the first team to stuff every member into the hoop and return
to start.
Equipment
• 10-12 hula hoops

PIN BALL

Instructions
• When the signal “go,” is given, players run to the center
line and grab a sponge ball.
• Without crossing the line they try to hit opposing players
and/or knock their whiffle balls off the cones.
Objective
• To to be the first team to knock the other team's whiffle
balls off the cones.
Equipment
• 8 cones, 8 whiffle balls, and 4 sponge balls (placed on
on the center line)

KNOCKOUT

Instructions
• Everyone will stand in a straight line, one behind each other at

the free throw line.
• The first person will shoot the ball and try to make it in the hoop.
• As soon as the first person shoots the second person can shoot.

As soon as the first person makes the shoot the first person must
pass it to the next person in line.
• If the second person make the basket before the first person
then the first person is out the game. The game will continue until
there is one person standing.
Objective
• To be the last person standing to shoot the ball.
• Equipment
• 2 basketballs
