Sampeng is considered part of Thailand’s Chinatown (Yaowarat). Therefore, you can find shrines in almost every corner of this neighborhood. It allows us to have plenty of opportunities to explore the area and come across several local shrines. So, we thought, “Why not do a local shrine guidebook for travelers or anyone who would like to make wishes, strongly hoping they would come true?” And that’s the origin of this guidebook! Through research and inquiries with the Samphanthawong District Office and shrine caretakers, we were able to gather information on the history and worship procedures. This allows us to compile a guidebook that provides readers with the background and step-by-step instructions for paying respects at each shrine. By following the guide, you’ll be able to pay your respects and seek blessings from the shrine deities accurately. Have fun! Satarana Team
