Vision Oman 2040
Oman 2040 is the Sultanate's vision and plan to meet
problems, adapt to local and global developments,
strengthen the economy, improve social-conditions
and promote development.

Smart Cities in Oman
In terms of innovation, technology and the rise of the
regional governorates, Oman is now experiencing
strong economic growth.
The governorates are prepared to accelerate the
development of Smart Cities and join the nations with
the greatest potential for social, economic and
environmental growth with the help of Vision 2040 and
backing from the Oman National Spatial Strategy.
According to Oman 2040 vision, Smart Cities are a
national goal that will help the country create jobs, grow,
and diversify its economy away from Oil Exports. (Ref. 1)

Smart Cities in Oman
Oman currently is focusing on making a Smart City
named Madinat Al Irfan. Oman also has plans to make
Nizwa, Salalah, and Sohar to Smart Cities (Ref. 2).

Digital Oman 2030
The Digital Oman 2030 strategy aims to lay foundations
for digital transformation.
Variables of the fourth industrial revolution in the
Sultanate, are achieved through the use of
artificial intelligence.
This is the ability of a machine to mimic the human mind.
Infrastructure will be digitized and e-government will lead to
an inclusive digital society (Ref. 3).

Establishing the Largest Green
Hydrogen Plant in the world
One of the world's biggest environmentally friendly
Hydrogen Plants will be built in Oman.
To establish an oil-producing nation as a pioneer in
renewable energy.
In 2028, the project will begin. It can generate 25 gigawatts
of wind and solar energy and is situated on the Arabian Sea
in the central governorate.
$30 Billion is the anticipated cost of the project.
The plant hopes to create up to 10 Million tons of Green
Ammonia annually and 1.8 Million tons of Green Hydrogen.

Madinat Al Irfan
The largest integrated Urban lifestyle destination in Oman
is being developed by Madinat Al Irfan Development
Company SAOC, A joint venture between
Majid Al Futtaim Properties and Oman Tourism
Development Company (OMRAN) (Ref. 5).

Duqm Refinery
Duqm Refinery, also known as OQ8, is a joint venture project
of two companies, International Petroleum
Investment Company (IPIC) and Oman Oil Company (OOC) in
the field of Refineries and petrochemicals (Ref. 6).

Gulf Rail
The Gulf Railway, often known as the GCC railway, is a
planned Rail Network that would link the 6 nations that
make up the Gulf Cooperation Council in Eastern Arabia. A
total of 2,177 km will make up the rail network.
Estimated costs for the project are $ 250 billion.

Conclusion
1.Oman 2040 is a strategy for the Sultanate to overcome
challenges foster economic growth and stimulate growth.
2. As Oman is in an exciting period of economic growth, and
the Oman 2040 vision, the Sultanate is making Smart Cities
like Madinat Al Irfan.
3.As of the 4th Industrial Revolution in the Sultanate, Artificial
Intelligence will lead the country to digitalized infrastructure
and e-government.
4. One of the world's biggest Green Hydrogen Plants is being
constructed in Oman. With the addition of benefits like
Wind Speed, Simple Access to saltwater, tested
Desalination skills and manufacturing-free zones.
5.Madinat Al Irfan is developing as a Smart City located
almost about 9 km from the Muscat International Airport. It
is being built near the Airport for tourism development and
a luxurious lifestyle for residents.
6. Duqm Refinery is in a land of 900 hectares and will be able
to produce 230,000 barrels per day making it the largest Oil
Refinery in Oman in near future.
7.Gulf Rail, also known as the GCC Railway, will link the 6 GCC
member nations and offer an alternate form of transit to
land, air, and sea travel. It departs from Kuwait City and
travels through Ras-Al-Khair, Jubail, Dammam, Ghweifat,
Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and eventually Muscat, as an alternative
to Manama and Doha.
