Field Trip Program
Trang is one of provinces in
Southern Thailand, which located on the
west side of Andaman Sea coast.
Actually, most of the areas are hills and
valleys or mountain ranges. Landscape
of Trang province is very beautiful and
stunning with variety of scenery full of
numerous jungles, mountains, waterfalls
and beaches.
There is an about 327 square
kilometers. Mangrove forests which
covered some part of Trang province.
Mangroves are the ecosystem that
consists of various plants, and animals,
living together in the environment with
muddy substrates, brackish water, and
tidal inundation areas. The mangroves are generally found in coastal areas and
estuaries. The plants in genus Rhizophora are dominant and important in
Mangrove forests: therefore, it’s recognized as “Rhizophora Forest”.
Trang province is also recognized as being
rich in diversity of sea grass species. Seagrasses are
the only flowering plants which grow in marine
environments. In addition, the outside structures of
seagrasses are similar to grasses on land. Seagrasses
are most commonly found in shallow depths where
light levels are high. Seagrasses are also a food
source for the dugongs.
Nowadays, Both Public and Private
sectors in Trang province have
collaborated with local community to
conserve environment, to restore and
develop marine resources, especially
mangrove, beaches, sea grasses and
dugongs. All create the natural balance,
moreover it keep our sea much more
picturesque.

Local Wisdom “Trang Cultural Show”
The Southern of Thailand, a land of beautiful islands and seas which
abundant with lots of natural resources, it is also distinguished by art, culture and
the Southern way of life that maintain a unique identity, full of charm and
fascination. It attracts everyone to absorb and learn closely.
Trang province is in the south of Thailand that is located in the South West.
There is a wide variety of natural integrity such as forests, rice paddies and water
resources. It was the first land in Thailand where rubber trees were planted by
Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahitsorn Phakdi (Khosimbi Na Ranong). Rubber
became an important crop of the Trang people. Along with stories of the way of
life in the community Tradition Local wisdom to find beautiful with the
architecture of the old Sino-Portuguese and traditional Chinese. Enjoy riding a
Tuk-tuk Frog Face to see the beautiful scenery around Trang. And fill up with
many famous dishes
Trang maintains the local identity that the ancestors have passed on to their
descendants, such as painting on the fabric, called batik, the fabric is painted by
using candles to cover the unwanted parts of the color and using the method of
dyeing, painting or dyeing In the desired part to be colored. It started entering the
southern border provinces by local people with influence from Malaysia Batik's
writing which was later developed and widespread. It can produce many styles of
fabric than it was presented in the past.
Na Muen Si weaving lines that is elaborately woven from generation to
generation, beautiful charming and valuable.
Playing "wind ball" or "windmill" is a long-established folk game that is
considered to be local wisdom, the wind ball has the same working principle as
the scarecrow that is used to keep the birds away not to eat rice in the field. It can
be linked with beliefs and nature in the community way of life.
Nung Ta lung is one of the local performing arts in the South. It is the form
of storytelling that is tied into a novel. And it is conducted with a verse sung in a
local accent. It is also known as the "saying" with intermittent dialogue. And use
the shadow display on the translucent cloth screen to attract the audiences.
Nora is the most popular dance among the performing arts of the South. It
has been sustainable for hundreds of years. Nora shows emphasize the dance pose
as a priority. Later stories from local literature were used to tell the story that

called Phra Suthonmanohra. Manora was called after the name of the female
character in the local literature.
Nang Talung and Manora are like the spiritual life of the southern people
from ancient times that as the saying goes "Visit Trang, Either Nang Nor Nora"
that expresses the talent of the Trang's performing arts all deserve.
Ronggeng, a performing arts that conveys the lovemaking between young
couple. It has evolved from the indigenous dances of the Spanish and Portuguese
that were performed in Malaya. When they contact us the trade, Malay has
adopted and called this dance "Rongeng"
