TURİZM İŞLETMECİLİĞİ KULÜBÜ Tourism Management Club 47KULÜPLERİMİZDEN FROM OUR CLUBS Turizm İşletmeciliği Kulübü 2008 yılında kurulmuştur. Kulübün kurulma amacı Turizm Fakültesi öğrencilerinin turizm bağlamında sosyal ve kültürel amaçlı gezi, seyahat ve diğer faaliyetleri yapabilmesi için üniversite çatısı altında bir örgütsel yapı oluşturmaktır. Turizm İşletmeciliği Kulübü, kurulduğu günden bugüne birçok etkinlik yapmıştır. Her yıl dönem başında yeni üyeler ile tanışmak ve yıl boyunca yapılacak olan etkinlikleri planlamak için kahvaltı programı yapmaktadır. Turizm İşletmeciliği Kulübü, birçok kez Erciyes Dağı'na gezi düzenleyip, öğrencilere kayak yapma ve kış turizmini yerinde gözlemleme fırsatı sunmuştur. Kulübümüz Kapadokya Bölgesi'ne pek çok kez geziler düzenlemiştir. Kulüp, her eğitim öğretim yılında Kayseri'de zincir otellere teknik geziler düzenlemektedir. Bu yıl ilk teknik gezisini Holiday Inn otele giderek gerçekleştirmiştir. The Tourism Management Student Club was established in 2008. The goal of creating an organizational structure under the university’s roof so that students from the Faculty of Tourism can go on trips, travel, and participate in other activities for social and cultural purposes in the context of tourism. The Tourism Management Student Club has participated in many events since its establishment. It conducts a breakfast program every year at the beginning of the semester to meet new members and plan events that will be held throughout the year. The Tourism Management Student Club has organized trips to Erciyes Mountain many times and offered students the opportunity to ski and observe winter tourism on site. Our club has organized trips to the Cappadocia Region many times. And our club organizes technical trips to chain hotels in Kayseri every year. 48KULÜPLERİMİZDEN FROM OUR CLUBS HIZIROĞLU UYGULAMA OTELİ GEZİSİ Hızıroğlu Practice Hotel Trip 13 Haziran 2023 tarihinde Turizm İşletmeciliği Kulübü, Erciyes Üniversitesi içerisinde bulunan Hızıroğlu Uygulama Oteline teknik gezi düzenlenmiştir. Kulüp danışmanı Arş. Gör. Erdal Kaan TOPRAKKALE ve Arş. Gör. Mustafa YILMAZ rehberliğinde kulüp üyeleri bilgilendirilmiştir. Hem keyifli hem de deneyim paylaşılması açısından oldukça verimli bir etkinlik gerçekleştirilmiştir. Otelin tarihçesi ve içerisinde bulunan departmanların tanıtımı hakkında bilgi alınmış, departman sorumlularıyla görüşme sağlanmıştır. Hızıroğlu Uygulama Oteli’nin idari sorumlusu Ethem Şeref ÇİÇEK, otelin gezilmesi esnasında kulüp üyelerine bizzat eşlik etmiştir. Bu bağlamda, Turizm Fakültesi öğrencilerinin stajlarını gönül rahatlığıyla uygulama otelinde yapabileceklerini ve kendilerinin de her türlü yardıma hazır olduğunu ifade etmiştir. On 13 June 2023, a technical trip was organized by the Tourism Management Club to the Hızıroğlu Practice Hotel which operates under Erciyes University. Club advisor Res. Asst. Erdal Kaan TOPRAKKALE and Res. Asst. Mustafa YILMAZ informed the members of the club.The event was efficient in terms of both being enjoyable and getting a chance to learning different experiences. Information was obtained about the history of the hotel and the introduction of the departments, and interviews were made with the department heads. Ethem Şeref ÇİÇEK who is the administrative responsible of Hızıroğlu Practice Hotel, hosted the club members during the tour. In this context, he stated that the students of the Faculty of Tourism can do their internships İn the operation he also expressed they are ready for any kind of help. 49KULÜPLERİMİZDEN FROM OUR CLUBS GASTRONOMİ KULÜBÜ Gastronomy Club Gastronomi Kulübü (GastroERÜ) 2014 yılında kurulmuştur. GastroERÜ kuruluşundan beri öğrencilerin gastronomi ve mutfak sanatları alanı ile ilgili deneyimlerini ve bilgilerini arttırmayı amaçlamıştır. Bu amaçla, her yıl yöresel yemeklerin gün yüzüne çıkarılmasına, eğitim ile ilgili özel günlerin kutlanmasına ve sosyal sorumluluk davranışlarına yönelik farklı atölye çalışması (workshop), etkinlik, konferans, seminer ve toplantılar düzenlemektedir. Kulübümüz tüm çalışmalarını gönüllü öğrencilerin özverili çalışmalarıyla yürütmektedir. Kulübümüze katılım sağlayan öğrencilerimizin yiyecek ve içeceklerle ilgili bilgi sahibi olmak, mutfak ile ilgili uygulama gezilerine katılmak, deneyimli şeflerle mutfakta yer almak mutfak alanında kendini geliştirmek ve sosyal sorumluluk projelerinde yer almak gibi kazanımları olmaktadır. The Gastronomy Student Club (GastroERU) was established in 2014. Since its establishment, GastroERU has aimed to increase the experience and knowledge of students in the field of gastronomy and culinary arts. For this purpose, it organizes different workshops, events, conferences, seminars, and meetings every year for the purpose of bringing local dishes to light and celebrating special days related to education and social responsibility behaviors. Our club accomplishes everything with the selfless work of volunteer students. Our students who participate in our club have gained such things as information about food and beverages, participation in culinary practice tours, working in the kitchen with experienced chefs, improving themselves in the kitchen area, and taking part in social responsibility projects. 50KULÜPLERİMİZDEN FROM OUR CLUBS TEPSİ MANTISI Tepsi (Tray) Mantısı Cumhurbaşkanlığı İnsan Kaynakları Ofisi tarafından organize edilen programda Şef Ahmet GÜZELYAĞDÖKEN ve Gastronomi Kulübü danışmanı Arş. Gör. Dr. Mustafa ÜLKER tarafından ilimizin coğrafi işaretli ürünlerinden olan Kayseri Tepsi Mantısı pişirildi. 6 Şubat tarihinde Fakültemizde gerçekleşen etkinlikte kulüp başkanı Didem Özgül ÖZBOYRAZ ve kulüp üyesi Süleyman MİRZALİYEV de yapım aşamalarında görev almışlardır. Our gastronomy club, “GastroErü” participated in the program organized by the Presidential Human Resources Office. In company with Chef Ahmet GÜZELYAĞDÖKEN and Res. Asst. Dr. Mustafa ÜLKER, Kayseri Tepsi (Tray) Mantısı, one of the geographically indicated products of Kayseri, was prepared in this event on February 6, 2023. GEZGİN REHBERLER KULÜBÜ Traveler Guides Club 51KULÜPLERİMİZDEN FROM OUR CLUBS Gezgin Rehberler Kulübü 2022 yılında kurulmuştur. Kulüp, güz döneminin başlarında Turizm Fakültesi içerisinde stant kurulumu ile öğrenci üye toplamaya başlamış ve ilk günden gerekli sayıyı aşarak 80 üye ile aktif hale gelmiştir. Kulüp kurulum amacı, öğrencilerimizi meslekleri hakkında bilgilendirip yönlendirmek, çeşitli uygulama gezileri ile mesleklerine hazırlamak ve kişisel gelişimlerine katkıda bulunmaktır. Gezgin Rehberler Kulübü kısa bir süre içinde pek çok gezi, toplantı ve buluşma düzenlemiştir. Kulüp öğrencileri özverili çalışmaları ile daha pek çok etkinlik düzenlemek için çalışmalarına devam etmektedirler. The Traveler Guides Student Club was established in 2022. Beginning with the setup of stands in the Faculty of Tourism at the start of the fall semester, the club began to recruit student members. It became active by establishing 80 members on the first day, exceeding the necessary number. The goals of the club are to inform and guide students about their profession, to prepare them for their careers with various practice trips, and to contribute to their personal development. The Traveler Guides Student Club has organized many excursions and meetings in a short time. Club members continue their efforts to organize many more activities with their devoted work. KORAMAZ VADİSİ KAMP ETKİNLİĞİ Koramaz Valley Camping Event 52KULÜPLERİMİZDEN FROM OUR CLUBS 12-13 Mayıs tarihlerinde Gezgin Rehberler Kulübü Başkanı Mehmet Kılıç tarafından kamp etkinliği düzenlenmiştir. 14 üyenin katılımı ile gerçekleştirilen etkinlikte yer seçimi, zaman tercihi gibi önem arz eden unsurlar katılımcı kitle ile birlikte değerlendirilip seçilmiştir. Gerekli ekipmanlar belirlenmiş ve her bir katılımcı ile iletişime geçilerek eksikler giderilmeye çalışılmıştır. Katılımcılar etkinlik boyunca keyifli olduklarını, zaman zaman yağmur yağsa bile mutlu olduklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Bu etkinliklerde, doğa ile iç içe olması ve tarihi yapısı açısından donanımlı olması sebebiyle Koramaz Vadisi seçilmiştir. Çadırlar ile konaklama yapılmıştır. A camp event was organized by Mehmet Kılıç, head of the Traveler Guides Club, on May 12–13. Important elements including place and time preference were assessed and chosen together with the participant audience for the event, which was held with the involvement of 14 people. Defects were attempted to be fixed by contacting with each participant after determining the necessary equipment. Even though it occasionally rained, participants said they were pleasant during the event and that they were delighted. The Koramaz Valley was selected for these activities because of its close ties to nature and ability to preserve old architecture. Tents were used for sleeping arrangements. PAINTBALL ETKİNLİĞİ A Paintball Event 53KULÜPLERİMİZDEN FROM OUR CLUBS 24 Mayıs 2023 tarihinde Gezgin Rehberler Kulübü faaliyetleri kapsamında Kulüp üyesi Mert Kalpakçı’nın önerisi ve Kulüp Başkanı Mehmet Kılıç'ın desteğiyle eğlence içerikli Paintball etkinliği düzenlenmiştir. Gönüllülük esası ile katılımcı olunan etkinlik yaklaşık bir saat sürmüş ve eğlenceli anlar yaşanmıştır. On May 24, 2023, within the scope of the Traveler Guides Club activities, an entertaining Paintball event was organized with the suggestion of Club member Mert Kalpakçı and the support of Club President Mehmet Kılıç. KAYSERİ'NİN TARİHİ GÜZELLİĞİ: KAYSERİ LİSESİ Historical Beauty of Kayseri: Kayseri High School 55KAYSERİ: 1 TARİH 1 LEZZET KAYSERİ: 1 HISTORY 1 TASTE Hazırlayan: Samet OĞUZ Anadolu’da ilk kez imparatorluk kurmaya çalışan Hitit İmparatorluğuna dâhil olan Kayseri, şehrin mevcut konumunun 23 km kuzeydoğusunda Kaniş ismi ile kurulmuştur. Kaniş şehrinin önemini yitirdiği dönemde şehir, bugünkü Kayseri konumunun 2 km güneyine Mazaca ismi ile kurulmuştur. Tarih boyunca birçok uygarlığın hâkimiyeti altında olmuştur. Fatih Sultan Mehmet zamanında Osmanlı topraklarına katılmasıyla beraber şehir daha hızlı bir şekilde yapılaşmaya başlamıştır ve günümüzdeki önemli tarihi yapıların birçoğu bu dönemlerde yapılmıştır. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluşu ile birlikte de il olarak Kayseri adını almıştır. Kayseri; yaklaşık altı bin yıla uzanan tarihiyle Eski Tunç, Hitit, Frig, Helenistik, Roma Bizans, Selçuklu, Osmanlı ve Cumhuriyet Dönemlerine ait eserlerden oluşan zengin bir kültürel mirasa sahiptir. Kayseri lisesi olarak bilinen tarihi yapı da Osmanlı Geç Dönem tarihi yapıları içerisinde yer almaktadır. Lise dengi okul olarak yaptırılan yapı o zamanki ismi ile idadi “Derece-i Üla Mekteb-i Mülkiye İdadisi” adıyla kurulmuş ve yapının 1904 yılında inşa edildiği kabul edilmektedir. Kayseri Lisesi yapım yılından 2013 yılına kadar orijinal işlevi olan eğitim yapısı olarak kullanılmıştır. 2013 yılında ise lisenin hem tarihi hem de anısal değerinden dolayı Millî Mücadele Müzesi’ne dönüştürülmesine karar verilerek restorasyon çalışmalarına başlanmıştır. 23 kilometers northeast of its current position, under the name Kanish, Kayseri was created as part of the Hittite Empire, which made its initial attempts to establish an empire in Anatolia. The city of Kanish lost its importance as time passed; the city was founded 2 km south of today’s Kayseri location with the name Mazaca. It has been under the domination of many civilizations throughout history. With the accession of Fatih Sultan Mehmet to the Ottoman lands, the city began to be built more quickly, and many of the important historical buildings of today were built during these periods. With the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, Kayseri was named a province. Kayseri has a rich cultural heritage consisting of artifacts belonging to the Ancient Bronze, Hittite, Phrygian, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, Ottoman, and Republican Periods, with a history stretching back about six thousand years. The historical building known as Kayseri High School is also located within the historical structures of the Late Ottoman Period. The structure built as a high school equivalent school was established with the name “Derece-i Ula Mekteb-i Mülkiye İdadisi” at that time, and it is accepted that the structure was built in 1904. Kayseri High School was used as an educational structure with its original function from the year of construction until 2013. In 2013, it was decided to convert the high school into a National Struggle Museum due to both its historical and commemorative value, and restoration works were started. 56KAYSERİ: 1 TARİH 1 LEZZET KAYSERİ: 1 HISTORY 1 TASTE Prepared by: Samet OĞUZ Yapının Tarihçesi ve Mimari Özellikleri Kayseri’nin 100 yıllık geçmişine tanıklık etmiş olan Kayseri Lisesi, Geç Osmanlı Döneminde kurulmuş olan önemli bir eğitim kurumu olarak kentte öne çıkmaktadır. Kayseri Lisesi binası; Kayseri ili, Melikgazi ilçesi, Kiçikapı Mahallesi’nde, bugün ayakta olan Surp Astvastzaddin (Meryem Ana) Ermeni Kilisesi’nin güneydoğusunda bulunmaktadır. Günümüzde, tarihi değeri ve anıtsal görünümü ile kent için dikkat çeken bir konumda bulunmaktadır. Kayseri Lisesi, Gayrimenkul Eski Eserler ve Anıtlar Yüksek Kurulu tarafından tescil edilerek koruma altına alınmıştır. Kayseri Lisesi 1893 yılında Kurşunlu Camii civarındaki Seyfullah Efendi Konağı’nda "Derece-i Ula Mekteb-i Mülkiye İdadisi" adıyla hizmete girdi. Üç yıl rüştiye, 2 yıl idadi olmak üzere 5 yıl süreli bir okuldu. Öğrenci sayısının artması üzerine neo-klasik üsluptaki mevcut okul binasının temeli 1903’te atıldı; önce birinci kat tamamlandı. 1915 yılında "Sultani"’ye dönüştürüldü. İkinci katının inşası 1916’da tamamlandı. Kurulduğu günden itibaren Ermeni ve Rumlara yönelik kurulmuş olan Talas Amerikan Okulu ile rekabet etti. Balkan Savaşı ve I. Dünya Savaşı okulun öğrenci sayısının azalmasına neden oldu. 1921 yılında okul Ankara Sultanisi ile birleştirilip 12 yıllık tam teşkilatlı yatılı sultanî durumuna getirildi. İstiklal Savaşı devam ederken 24 Temmuz 1921’de TBMM’nin hükümet merkezini Kayseri’ye taşıma kararı vermesi üzerine lise binası TBMM toplantıları için hazır hale getirildi. Ancak Sakarya Savaşı’nın kazanılması üzerine hükümetin Kayseri’ye taşınması kararından vazgeçildi. History and Architectural Features of the Building As a significant educational facility established in the Late Ottoman Period and having observed Kayseri 100-year history, Kayseri High School stands out in the city (Işık, 2010). The Kayseri High School building is to the southeast of the Surp Astvastzaddin (Virgin Mary) Armenian Church, which is still standing today, in the Kiçikapı neighborhood of Melikgazi district, Kayseri province. Today, it is located in a remarkable location for the city, with its historical value and monumental appearance. Kayseri High School has been registered by the Constitution and Development of the High Council of Real Estate Antiquities and Monuments and taken under protection. Kayseri High School started service in 1893 in the Seyfullah Efendi Mansion near the Kurşunlu Mosque under the name of “Degree-i Ula Mekteb-i Mülkiye Idadisi”. It was a school with a duration of 5 years, including three years of rüştiye (Ottoman junior high school) and 2 years of idadi (high school). Upon the increase in the number of students, the foundation of the current school building in the neo-classical style was laid in 1903; the first floor was completed first. It was converted to “Sultani” in 1915. The construction of its second floor was completed in 1916. From the day it was founded, it competed with the Talas American School, which was established for Armenians and Greeks. The Balkan War and World War I caused the school’s student numbers to decrease. In 1921, the school was merged with the Sultanate of Ankara and turned into a 12-year, fully organized boarding school. During the Turkish War of Independence, on July 24, 1921, the high school building was made ready for the meetings of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey after the assembly decided to move the government center to Kayseri. 57KAYSERİ: 1 TARİH 1 LEZZET KAYSERİ: 1 HISTORY 1 TASTE Hazırlayan: Samet OĞUZ Okulun son sınıf öğrencilerinin tamamı eğitimlerini yarıda bırakıp cepheye gittiği ve Sakarya Muharebesi’nde şehit düştükleri için 1921’de okul mezun vermedi. Bu kahramanlık hikâyesini şair Cahit Külebi, müfettişlik yaptığı sırada okulun kayıtlarını incelerken ortaya çıkardı. Savaşta şehit düşen öğrenciler anısına okul bahçesinde bir anıt mevcuttur. 1922’de Kayseri Lisesi’ne edebiyat öğretmeni olarak atanan ve 2 yıl görev yapan şair Faruk Nafiz Bey, savaşta şehit düşen öğrencilerin anısına "Kayseri Lisesi Marşı"nı yazdı. Okulda, ileride tanınmış bir şair olacak Behçet Kemal’in öğretmeni oldu. 1923 yılında okulun adı "Sultani"den "Lise"ye dönüştürüldü. 1927 yılında ise Kayseri Lisesi ismini almıştır. Okulun iki katı da öğretime yetemeyecek duruma gelince 1927 yılında yakınında bulunan Cizvit papazlarına ait olan iki bina liseye eklenmiştir. Kayseri Lisesi’ne belirli dönemlerde eklenerek eğitim yapısı işlevinde son halini almıştır. Yeni bina olarak adlandırılan bina 1956-1957’de; pansiyon binası 1965-1966’da; spor salonu ve konferans salonu binası 1976-1977’de yapılmıştır. Yapının bütün cephelerinde yapıda bulunan düz yüzeyli kalın bir silme mevcuttur. Bu silme ile yapının zemin kat ve bodrum katı birbirinden ayırt edilmiş ve binanın alt sınırı belirlenmiştir. Yapıda, duvar yüzeylerinden hafifçe dışarı taşırılmış dikdörtgen planlı Plastırlar (duvar payeleri) bulunmaktadır. Yapının köşelerine yerleştirilen mekânların kütlesel olarak dışarıya taşırılmış olması ile cephe hareketlilik kazanmıştır. However, after the victory of the Sakarya War, the decision to move the government to Kayseri was abandoned. The school did not produce graduates in 1921 because all of the senior students at the school interrupted their education and were martyred in the Battle of Sakarya. Poet Cahit Külebi revealed this heroic story when he was examining the school’s records while he was an inspector. A monument in the school yard in memory of the students who were martyred in the war. Poet Faruk Nafiz Bey, who was appointed as a literature teacher at Kayseri High School in 1922 and served for 2 years, wrote the “Kayseri High School Anthem” in memory of the students who were martyred in the war, who would later become a well-known poet. In 1927, it was named Kayseri High School. When both floors of school became insufficient for teaching, two buildings belonging to Jesuit priests located nearby were added to the high school in 1927. With new additions to Kayseri High School in certain periods, its educational structure has taken on its final form over time. The building, called the new building, was built in 1956–1957; the hostel building was built in 1965–1966; gym and conference hall building was built in 1976–1977. There is a thick molding with a flat surface on all facades of the structure. 58KAYSERİ: 1 TARİH 1 LEZZET KAYSERİ: 1 HISTORY 1 TASTE Prepared by: Samet OĞUZ Yalın olmasına rağmen anıtsal bir cephe düzenine sahip olan ve Neoklasik özellikler taşıyan yapının anıtsal boyutlardaki pencereleri öne çıkmaktadır. Kayseri Büyükşehir Belediyesi ve İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü arasında yapılan protokol neticesinde 02.05.2016 tarihinden itibaren Millî Mücadele Müzesi olarak halkımızın ziyaretine açılmıştır Dönüşüm sürecinde derslik olarak kullanılan pansiyon binası, konferans salonu ve spor salonu yıkılarak yerine tarihi yapıya uygun 10 derslik yeni ek bina yapılmıştır. Bu yeni ek bina olan Kayseri Lisesi 2013 yılında hizmet vermeye başlamıştır. Tarihi yapı ise yapım yılından 2013 yılına kadar özgün işlevi ile kullanılmış olup 2013 yılında Millî Mücadele Müzesi olarak işlevlendirilmesi kararıyla restorasyon çalışmaları başlatılmıştır. Literatür taramalarında yapının lise işlevinde kullanımındayken yapılan eklemeler, müzeye dönüşüm çalışmalarında kaldırılarak yapı ilk günkü haline dönüştürülmeye çalışılmıştır. Kayseri Lisesi Geç Osmanlı Dönemine ait olan sayılı örneklerden biridir.1904 yılında lise işlevi ile kullanıma başlamış ve 2013’e kadar mevcut işlevini koruyarak kullanılmıştır fakat yıllar içinde mimarinin yapısal ve mekânsal kurgusunda herhangi bir değişiklik olmasa da yapıda kullanılan orijinal iç mekân malzemeleri, kapı ve pencerelerin çoğu günümüze ulaşamamıştır. Although it is lean, the monumental windows of the building, which have a monumental facade layout and Neoclassical features, stand out. As a result of the protocol between Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and the Provincial Directorate of National Education, the National Struggle Museum was opened to the public in May 2016. The hostel building, conference hall, and gym used as classrooms during the conversion process were deconstructed and replaced with a new annex building with 10 classrooms suitable for the historical structure. Kayseri High School, in this new annex building, started to provide services in October 2013. The historical building was used in its original function from the year of construction until 2013, and restoration works were initiated with the decision to function as a National Struggle Museum in 2013. During the literature research, the additions made while the structure was being used in the high school function were removed during the conversion studies, and the structure was tried to be transformed into its first-day form. Kayseri High School is one of the few examples belonging to the Late Ottoman Period. Kayseri Lisesi yapım yılı 1904 yılından günümüze kadar yapısal ve mekânsal özelliklerinin birçoğunu korumuştur. Malzemelerin dışında oda büyüklükleri de ihtiyaçlar doğrultusunda değiştirilmiştir. Bu boyutsal değişiklikler genellikle zemin katta bulunan güney ve kuzey cephesindeki odalarda görülmüştür. Bu odalardan birisinin ıslak hacim olarak kullanılması ile mekân boyutsal olarak küçültülmüş, yanındaki mekân ise büyütülmüştür. Müze işlevine dönüş ile birlikte küçültülen veya ikiye bölünen mekânlar orijinal boyutlarına dönüştürülmemiştir. Zemin kattaki odalara ait tüm kapılar onarımlarla yenilenmiştir fakat orijinal hali maalesef günümüze ulaşılamamıştır. Aynı şekilde bütün odaların tabanları orijinal olmayan lambri parkelerle kaplanmıştır. Müzeye dönüşümle beraber de hol seramik karo kaplanmış ve odalar ise mozaik beton dökülerek değiştirilmiştir. Günümüze kadar orijinal hali ile gelebilen tek yer merdivenin ahşap konstrüksiyonu olmuştur. Müzeye dönüşümle beraber hala merdiven orijinal hali ile kullanılmakta ama merdivenler müze ziyaretçilerinin kullanımına kapatılmıştır. Kayseri Lisesi’nin müze işlevine dönüştürülmesindeki amacın yapının korunması için yapıldığı düşünülmektedir. Lise işlevinde kullanımında tarihsel anlatıcı rolünün bilincinde olunmadığı ve bu bilincin kaybedilmesinin istenmemesi sebebiyle lise Millî Mücadele Müzesi’ne dönüştürülmüştür. Kayseri High School has preserved many of its structural and spatial features from the construction year 1904 to the present day. Apart from the materials, the room sizes have also been changed in accordance with the needs. These dimensional changes were usually observed in the rooms on the south and north facades located on the ground floor. With the use of one of these rooms as a wet volume, the space has been dimensionally reduced, and the space next to it has been enlarged. The spaces that were reduced or divided into two with the return to museum function have not been converted to their original dimensions. All the doors belonging to the rooms on the ground floor have been renovated with repairs, but unfortunately, the original version has not been reached today. In the same way, the floors of all rooms are covered with non-original paneled parquet floors. With the transformation into a museum, the hall was covered with ceramic tiles, and the rooms were replaced by pouring mosaic concrete. The only place that has been able to retain its original form to this day has been the wooden construction of the staircase. With the conversion to a museum, the staircase is still being used in its original form, but the stairs have been closed to museum visitors. It is believed that the purpose of converting Kayseri High School into a museum was to preserve the structure. Due to the fact that the role of the historical narrator in its use in the high school function was not recognized and it was not desirable to lose this consciousness, the high school was converted into the National Struggle Museum. (Bu mesleği yapmaya nasıl başladınız ve kimden nasıl öğrendiniz?) Öncelikle merhaba, hoş geldiniz. Develi doğumluyum, 55 yaşındayım. 1980 yıllarında başlayan bir çıraklık eğitimi sonrasında nihayet ustalığa geçişi hak etmiştim. Bu mesleğe tam anlamıyla 1988 yılında başladım. Bizim yörede genellikle sanat, esnaflık, tarım, hayvancılık baş gösteren sektörlerdi. Bu az seçenekler arasından esnaflığı, lokanta işletmeciliğini tercih ederek bu işe bir adım atmış olduk. 1988’den beri bu mesleği icra ediyoruz.Genelde baba mesleği olarak icra ettiğim düşünülse de durum bunun tam tersi. Çocukluk yıllarımda annemin yönlendirmesi ile bir süre fırında çalıştım. Daha sonra babam terzi olduğu için terzilik de yaptım. Konfeksiyon işi pek hoşumuza gitmemeye başladı. Yıllardan beri idealim bu işletmeyi kurmaktı ve bu hayali de 1988 yılında gerçekleştirmiş oldum. Buradaki iş koşulları hakkında bilgi verecek olursak, genelde oğullarımla ve ustalarla birlikte işletmeyi yönetiyoruz. İşletmemizde misafirlere ikram edilen su Erciyes Dağı’ndan gelen sudur. Her gün eve gidip gelirken bu suları işletmemize getirerek misafirlere ikram ediyoruz. Could you briefly talk about your working life? (How did you start this profession from whom and how did you learn it?) First of all, hello and welcome. I was born in Develi. I'm 55 years old. After an apprenticeship that started in the 1980s, I finally deserved the transition from apprentice to the master. I literally started this profession in 1988. In our region, art, craftsmanship, agriculture and animal husbandry were the mostly leading occupations. We took a step into this business by choosing commerce and restaurant management among these few options. We have been practicing this profession since 1988. Although it is generally thought that I practice it as a father's profession, the situation is the opposite. In my childhood, my mother put me to work in the bakery, I worked in the bakery for a while. Later, I also worked as a tailor because my father was a tailor. Over time, we started to dislike the textile business. My ideal for years was to establish this business and I achieved this dream in 1988. If we give information about the business conditions in here, we usually manage the business with my sons and chefs. The water offered to the guests in our establishment is coming from Mount Erciyes.
