Midnight the shapeshifter

Alyson was a normal person like you and me. She
lived in the mountains and owned a loyal fox named
Shadow. She was not expecting what had happened to
her the next day. It was an dark and dismal night

when Allyson decided to take a hike through the
woods. A low growl came from the left of her.
Startled ,she headed back home until bright red eyes
met hers and slowly walked forward. Immediately she
recognized them as a pack of wild wolves indigenous
to the mountain region. Dark grey fur, gleaming red
eyes, these wolves were Known for there vicious
behavior Allyson ran home. Not able to outrun them,
Allyson was attacked. She remembers not much but she
woke up in the forest with wounds covering her arms.
Walking home, she felt strange as if her hairs stood
up. Soon after, a full moon came along. Bright red

eyes, dark grey fur, she was the wolf.

corrupted.

Sunny
day!

Frantically, Allyson paced around the room while
Shadow stared in both fright and interest. She thought
she had lost it and was dreaming but it felt so real,
so powerful an impossible dream full of wonder yet the
dark realization that this was real, all to real. She
hoped with all she had this wasn’t real but in
reality it was. That night, Allyson considered the
options of what to do. An hour passed by as Allyson
slowly got more and more sleepy. The next morning she
woke up to a pleasant sight. She was back to normal,
she forgot all about it and figured it was just a
nightmare. Months passed with no signs of change till
the next full moon. Allyson's face twisted into horror
as she was once again a wolf. "I know there's no end
in this I must keep this a secret. From that point on
Allyson knew that she must use her ability for the
greater good. But how you may ask? She vowed to use
her powers to save people in danger... A superhero!

After many nights as a wolf she discovered great amounts
of talent that she had. Super strength, improved sight
and smell and speed. She sensed danger and quickly with
no hesitation ran to aid the people. Allyson was quickly
know as midnight as then she would return to her human
form. Hours passed and she designed her costume. Shadow
whimpered as if telling her he would want to join.
Midnight loved Shadow beyond words and decided to allow
him to go on her adventures as her companion. It was a
perfect duo Shadow and Midnight. Years passed as she
saved countless amounts of people. But of course she
grew more and more weary over the years until a fateful
day...

HELP!
I am lost!

Midnight quickly hurried to the aid of a person about
to fall off a cliff. She rushed to the mountain range
Sensing danger. All of the sudden she heard rumbles
and thousands of rocks slid down the steep mountain
hill. “Avalanche!”, screamed a bystander. Minutes
passed and the avalanche stopped. Silence fell over
the area as Midnight, did not emerge from the rock
pile. Unfortunately Midnight had died but her spirit
lurks the mountain range guiding hikers through the
forest. If you listen closely on a full moon you can
hear faint howls ringing through the forest. Shadow
her beloved fox, roams the mountain hoping one day to
be with Midnight once again. The ghost wolf vows to
save people still, even if they don’t acknowledge
her faint presence.



Daniela Abarca I am Daniela Abarca and I was born
in Maine where I found a passion
for all living creatures. This book
was created based on ancient Native
American tales of shape shifters
that terrorized there villages long
ago. Midnight is a tale of how a
normal everyday person became a
super hero and saved many people.
