Zig Ziglar’s Seven Steps of Goal
Setting



Some people is interested in understanding more about the effective
evaluation topics such goal setting.

There are 7 details Zig Ziglar’s steps of goal setting such as Identify
the goals, Set a date to reach the goals, Identify the obstacles that
will need to be overcome, Identify the people or groups that will need
to work with, Determine what are we need to know, Determine 'What

in it for me' and Create the Plan of Action.



The first step in goal-setting is to think out whatever you want to achieve and
write it all down. You should learn to show your goal clearly and succinctly.

Once you've set on a goal, focus on the advantages
of achieving it.

It's essential to consider all of the problems you can face on your road to
achieving your goal. You can then plan how you will overcome these obstacles if

you do this.

It's essential to consider the skills and knowledge you'll need to achieve your goal,
as well as the benefits and obstacles associated with it.

It's important to spend time evaluating who is able to help you. However, you
should consider of why they might want to and how you might communicate with

them.

Steps to overcome the problems you highlighted may be included in your plan. It might
include action to help you focus on the benefits you've identified, as well as activities

to gain the skills and knowledge you'll need.

To ensure that you have a clear and realistic plan to achieve your
goal, you may want to apply project methods.

GOALS

What Are SMART Goals?

SMART goals are a relatively new idea. In 1981, George T. Doran, a consultant and
former director of corporate planning for Washington Water Power Company,
published a paper called, “There’s a SMART Way to Write Management’s Goals and
Objectives.” In the document, he introduces SMART goals as a tool to create criteria

to help improve the chances of succeeding in accomplishing a goal.

These following are examples of Smart
goals:



Specific: Well-defined, and unambiguous.



Measurable: With defined requirements that track your progress toward

your goal's achievement.



Achievable: Attainable, but just not impossible.



Realistic: Within your reach, realistic, and relevant to your life's mission.



Timely: With a clearly defined timeline that contains a timeline. The goal is
to create a sense of urgency.

MY Goals

My name is Lina Ameraah Binti Md
Tahir. I am 29 years old. Actually, in
my life, I want to be a good person. I
like money because I like shopping,

travelling and fashion.

I believe, all human needs the money
for our life. I also like that. I am a
mother of two sons. One fine day, I

want to bring my sons and family to
perform Umrah and travelling to
Turkey. In Shaa Allah

GOAL SETTING

Specific - I want to be a good leader & successful in
a well-known business company. And I want a big

amount salaries around 5-6k per monthly.



Measurable - I earned a bachelor's degree when i
graduated for 1-2 years from now.



Attainable - I have to prove that I am a visionary and
as importantly, that I am self-disciplined.



Relevant - It is very important to the value of the
craft for me and must be performed to achieve the

goals of success in my life.



Timely - And I need to work hard for my future start
from now. I will make sure I succeed and get what I

want in 2-3 years coming. I will.

2: Set the Deadline for Achievement

It's important that I have a deadline for my overall
goal, but it's also essential that I have deadlines

for the tasks in my action plan.
I wish my achieve for 5 years to ensure that have

a clear and realistic plan to achieve my goal in
future, in year 2022.

Specific - To achieve my goals in 5 years, by year
2022.

Measurable - My deadline is to complete my degree
for my future that I have paid in my own money and

I think this is very worth it for my long life.
Attainable - I can coop my life and I hope I can
graduate my degree in year 2022. After that, I can
focus all my family and my daily works at office,
which means currently I am Senior Clerk started on
09.09.2021. Its called promoted to me. I'm grateful.

Relevant - It is more than enough for me to achieve
my goals in 5 years. I must work hard to complete
my degree and it will become sunshine in my life.

Timely - The time bound me it is quite so long, 5
years. But I must be struggle, strong, and I need to
do a good job and my works also to complete my

journey studies.

4: List the People, Groups and Organization who
can Assist Me

I won't be able to achieve the goal on the basis of my
skills and knowledge. In my life, I've almost certainly

benefited from the help of the others.



It's important that I spend time thinking who could be
able to assist me. Be grateful. Of course, I should

thinking about why they would want to and how I might
keep them in my life constantly especially my beloved
family, my dad, and my late mom. Both of them really
want me be a good daughters and I can make them proud

of me.

Specific - The people can help me to achieve my goals is My Husband, My
Family, My Fellow Friends and My boss at workplace.

Measurable - My responsible is big. I must informed my boss
and Colleagues about my studies and my works task.

Attainable - Ask their kindly assistance if I have problem
about my studies/tasks and makes a discussion together.

Relevant - At office, I have 2 colleagues around me. We usually makes
good communication thru WA or email to discuss and solve the problem
together. Because our task is totally different with other units. For my
friends, we meet up at UITM Kampus when we are having classes session

on every Saturday.

Timely - Every twice in monthly, we will discuss all the tasks
and for sure get the coffee time for release tension.

5: List the Benefits of Achieving My Goals

Once I've decided on a goal, I have to consider the advantages of
achieving it. This will help me gain a better understanding of the

goal and increase my motivation to achieve it.
If I want to justify the benefits, it is a lots. One of them is I work
hard to spend my money to buy the notebook for makes me easy to

do the tasks/assignments, job tasks and others.
During I takes the subject Human Resource Management, I often
ask my friends which is they are lecturer in Multimedia University
as Business Admin lecturer. They very helpful to me, they assist
me everyday. Somehow, they asked me to go out for discussion the

topics/title.



Specific - Be a good Leader or Human Resource Manager is one
of good position. Very professional. So, my requirements is can
ability to use & understand the key point/software of Human

Resources Management.

Measurable - I must complete my studies in Bachelor of
Degree Human Resource Management to achieve my goals.

Attainable - For me, it is not possible to me to complete my studies because
I've never failed all the subjects taken previously during my journey studies.

Relevant - Usually I meet up my friends at UITM Kampus when
we are having classes session on every Saturday.

Timely - Every twice in monthly, we will discuss all the
tasks and for sure get the coffee time for release tension.

6: List the Skills and Knowledge Required "What's in
it for me?"

It's important that I consider the skills and knowledge I'll need to
achieve my goals, as well as the advantages and disadvantages that
come with it. Understanding these needs will aid me in developing a

strategy for gaining the necessary knowledge and skills.

Specific - I must be good listener, excellent leadership,
communication and relation skills with my friends and

colleagues at office or campus.
Measurable - I know what I am capable in my life.
Sometimes, my skills to present is slow but then, I can try my

best as long as my achievement still in good.
Attainable - For me, I can learn more about skills knowledge which is in office
environment or campus situation. I already improve my communication skills

where my friends in workplace majority are foreigner persons.
Relevant - My skills are in my life journey at workplace because the

skills is one of my job tasks and it will be evaluate by my head of
division.

Timely - It's takes 9 years for me to catch up and be a good
communicated person among my friends at workplace.

7: Develop a Plan/ Create Plan of
Action

Steps to overcome the challenges you identified may be included in
your plan. It might contain steps to help you focus on the benefits

you've identified, as well as steps to gain the skills and
information you'll need. Of course, you'll also list the specific

steps you'll need to take to reach your goal.

I love myself. i KNOW WHAT I WANT TO ACHIEVE
MY GOALS. I HAVE MY OWN PLANNER. I HOPE I

CAN ACHIEVE IT AND I CAN ASSIST MY FAMILY, MY
SONS AND OF COURSE FOR MYSELF. THE FIRST
THING IS, PLEASE BE GRATEFUL WHAT WE HAVE
