Infinitive คือ รูปของกริยาที่ยงั ไม่ไดผ้ นั ในภาษาองั กฤษ โดยทว่ั ไปแลว้ เมื่อพดู
ถึง infinitive เราจะนึกถึง present infinitive ซ่ึงพบบ่อยท่ีสุด แต่อยา่ งไรกด็ ี infinitive มี
อยทู่ ้งั หมดดว้ ยกนั 4 แบบ ไดแ้ ก่ the perfect infinitive, the perfect continuous
infinitive, the continuous infinitive และ the passive infinitive
Present infinitive มี 2 แบบไดแ้ ก่
infinitive แบบใช้ to = to + กริยา
infinitive แบบไมใ่ ช้ to = กริยา
คาํ กริยาของ present infinitive คือ คาํ กริยาท่ีพบไดใ้ นพจนานุกรมภาษาองั กฤษ

*Infinitive ในประโยคปฏิเสธ สามารถทาํ ไดโ้ ดยการเติม not ขา้ งหนา้ infinitive น้นั ๆ

คาํ กริยาวิเศษณ์หรือคาํ นามท่ีตอ้ งการขยาย หลงั จากน้นั ใหต้ ามดว้ ย infinitive แบบใช้ to เพือ่ อธิบาย
เหตุผลวา่ ทาํ ไมจึงเป็นเช่นน้นั โดยทวั่ ไปแลว้ สามารถลบ infinitive แบบใช้ to หรืออะไรกไ็ ดท้ ี่

Pinocchio

Once upon a time, a poor old carpenter carved a wooden puppet
and named it “Pinocchio.” He loved it so much and wished it were
alive. So, that night, he prayed for a meteor to make Pinocchio come
to life and become the like real boys. Because of his goodness, a fairy
appeared that night when the carpenter was sleeping, and made
Pinocchio come to life. “Look at me! I’m alive! I can walk, I can sit
and I can talk too. “Pinocchio danced and jumped joyfully.
“Pinocchio, if you want to be a real boy, you have to prove yourself to
be in goodness and do not tell a lie. I will help you to be a complete
boy. “Pinocchio promised to the fairy and fell asleep. In the next
morning, the carpenter was amazed that his puppet was really alive.
“Pinocchio, you must go to school like other kids,” the carpenter said
kindly. “OK, dad. I will pay attention in class.” Pinocchio was so
excited on his first day of school. The carpenter looked at him until he
was out of his sight. On the way to school, Pinocchio met a tricky fox,
and asked him to play together. Then Pinocchio followed the fox and
completely forgot about the school. After that, the fox tricked
Pinocchio to a puppet troupe and sold him to the trouper. Pinocchio’s
show made lots of money for the trouper. Everybody liked him. I’ll be
back home to tell my father,” Pinocchio said gladly. “You can’t go
anywhere because we’re going to play a show in other city.” After
that the trouper detained him in cage and departed immediately, so
Pinocchio regretted his mistake. Suddenly, the fairy appeared. “I will
help you but you must answer my question first. Did you intend to go
to school?” asked the fairy. “Yes, I did. I didn’t think to go
anywhere,” After his words, his nose got longer. “Don’t you lie?”

“No, I don’t lie.” Instantly, his nose got longer that made him afraid.
The fairy gave him the last chance, so he confessed that he lied. “I
will help you for the last time. If you can’t prove that you can be a
good boy and not tell a lie again, then you could not be the real one.”
Finally, the fairy helped Pinocchio fled from the puppet troupe.
Pinocchio hurried back home, but on the way he met a merchant with
full of little boys, jumping and dancing joyfully on his carriage. “Hey
little boy! Come with me and I will take you to the wonderland.” The
merchant persuaded Pinocchio kindly. Finally he decided to go with
the merchant. When the carriage arrived at wonderland, all the
children including Pinocchio enjoyed singing, dancing, playing, and
eating delicious food. He was very happy with friends that he forgot
his promise to the fairy. Not so long, the merchant’s nature revealed.
The food that children had eaten made their faces and bodies turn to
donkeys and tails appeared. The merchant sold them to the customers.
Luckily, nothing happened to Pinocchio, so he ran away from there
and headed back home. When Pinocchio arrived home, he only found
the letter the carpenter, his dad, had written before sailing out to find
him. That was very risky because of the rumor about fierce animal of
the sea. So Pinocchio decided to follow his father immediately.
Pinocchio had been swimming in the sea for many days. Unluckily he
met a big whale, the fierce animal of the sea. IT was swallowed him
and other animals, which tried to escape but failed. Pinocchio thought
back to the past while walking through the darkness and the coldness
in the whale’s belly, until he found the light from one boat that had
been swallowed too. “Hello! Is there anybody here?” asked
Pinocchio. “Pinocchio! Oh, my son!” it was the carpenter’s voice. He
looked for Pinocchio who had been swallowed by the whale too. They
both were very pleased to each other again. Pinocchio and his dad
found a way to escape from the whale’s belly by setting fire inside,
that bothered the whale until it finally sneezed out. They successfully
got out of the whale. The wind and the waves of the sea were very
strong, therefore their raft had broken not long before they arrived at a
shore. The carpenter almost got drowned, then Pinocchio hurriedly
swam to help him. Pinocchio could save his father and took him to the

shore. But unfortunately, the waves crashed him against the rocks and
he became unconscious. The carpenter tried to wake him up, but he
couldn’t do so. When both got home, the carpenter was saddened that
Pinocchio could not wake up anymore. The fairy who gave life to
Pinocchio emerged again. “Pinocchio, I have seen the proof from all
the good things you did, so I will give your life again.” Then
Pinocchio completely turned to a boy like the carpenter had prayed.
They were very happy living together again. Moreover, Pinocchio
kept his promise to the fairy to play attention in class and continued
his goodness forever.

กาลคร้ังหน่ึง ช่างไมแ้ ก่ผยู้ ากจนไดแ้ กะสลกั หุ่นกระบอกไมข้ ้ึนมา และต้งั ช่ือวา่ “พนิ ็อคคิโอ” เขา้ รักหุ่น
กะบอกไมต้ วั น้ีมาก และหวงั อยากจะใหม้ นั มีชีวติ ข้ึนมาจริงๆ คืนน้นั เขาจึงอิฐานกบั ดาวตก ขอใหพ้ ิน็อคคิ
โอมีชีวติ ดงั เช่นเดก็ ชายคนอ่ืนๆ ดว้ ยความดีของช่างไม้ ในค่าํ คืนน้นั เอง นางฟ้ ากไ็ ดป้ รากฏกายข้ึนในขณะท่ี
เขากาํ ลงั นอนหลบั และเสกใหพ้ ิน็อคคอโอมีชีวติ ข้ึนมาตามคาํ อธิฐาน “ดูสิ ฉนั มีชีวติ แลว้ ฉนั เดิน นงั่ แลว้ ก็
พดู ไดด้ ว้ ย” พนิ ็อคคิโอกระโดดโลดเตน้ ไปมาอยา่ งดีใจ .พนิ ็อคคิโอ ถา้ เจา้ อยากจะเป็นมนุษย์ เจา้ จะตอ้ ง
พิสูจน์ตวั เองดว้ ยการทาํ ความดีและไมพ่ ดู โกหกแลว้ ขา้ จะช่วยใหเ้ จา้ กลายเป็นเดก็ ชายโดยสมบรู ณ์แบบ”
พิน็อคคิโอใหค้ าํ สญั ญากบนางฟ้ า แลว้ กผ็ ลอ็ ยหลบั ไป เชา้ วนั รุ่งข้ึน ช่างไมป้ ระหลาดใจมาก เมื่อพบวา่ หุ่น
กระบอกไมข้ องเขามีชีวิตข้นึ มาจริงๆ “พนิ ็อคคิโอ เจา้ จะจอ้ งไปเรียนหนงั สือที่โรงเรียนเหมือนกบั เดก็ คน
อ่ืนๆ นะลูก” ช่างไมพ้ ดู ดว้ ยความเอน็ ดู “ครับพอ่ ผมจะต้งั ใจเรียนครับ” พนิ ็อคคอโอต่ืนเตน้ มากกบั การ
ไปโรงเรียนวนั แรก ช่างไมม้ องตามพนิ ็อคคิโอไปจนลบั สายตา ระหวา่ งทางไปโรงเรียน พนิ ็อคคโิ อไดพ้ บ
กบั สุนขั จิ้งจิกเจา้ เล่ห์ มนั ออกอุบายชกั ชวนใหพ้ นิ ็อคคิโอไปเล่นดว้ ยกนั พิน็อคคิโอนึกสนุกจึงตามสุนขั
จิ้งจอกไปและลืมเร่ืองไปโรงเรียนเสียสนิท หลงั จากน้นั สุนขั จิ้งจอกเจา้ เล่ห์กห็ ลอกพาพนิ ็อคคิโอไปขาย
ใหก้ บั คณะละครหุ่นกระบอกไม้ การแสดงของพนิ ็อคคิโอทาํ เงินใหก้ บั หวั หนา้ คณะละครหุ่นกระบอกเป็น
จาํ นวนมาก ผคู้ นต่างชื่นชอบในตวั เขา “ผมจะกลบั บา้ นไปเล่าใหพ้ อ่ ฟัง” พิน็อคคโิ อพดู อยา่ งดีใจ “เจา้ จะ
ไม่ไดไ้ ปไหนท้งั น้นั เพราะเราตอ้ งออกเดินทางไปแสดงท่ีเมืองอื่นต่อ” หวั หนา้ คณะละครจบั พนิ ็อคคิโอขงั
ไว้ แลว้ เดินทางต่อไปยงั เมืองอื่นทนั ที พนิ ็อคคิโอไดแ้ ต่เศร้าเสียใจกบั การกระทาํ ของตนเอง ทนั ใดน้นั
นางฟ้ ากป็ รากฏกายข้ึนอีกคร้ัง “ขา้ จะช่วยเจา้ เอง แตเ่ จา้ ตอ้ งตอบคาํ ถามขา้ ก่อน เจา้ ต้งั ใจจะไปเรียนใช่
ไหม” นางฟ้ าถาม “ผมจะไปโรงเรียน ไม่ไดค้ ิดจะไปเท่ียวเลยครับ” สิ้นเสียงตอบจมกู ของพนิ ็อคคิโอก็
คอ่ ยๆยาวออกมา “เจา้ ไม่ไดโ้ กหกนะ” “ครับ ผมไม่ไดโ้ กหกครับ” ทนั ใดน้นั จมกู ของพิน็อคคิโอกค็ อ่ ยๆ
ยาวข้ึนอีก เขาตกใจมาก นางฟ้ าใหโ้ อกาสอีกคร้ังเขาจึงสารภาพวา่ เขาโกหก “ขา้ จะช่วยเจา้ เป็นคร้ังสุดทา้ ย
ถา้ เจา้ ยงั พิสูจนไ์ ม่ไดว้ า่ เจา้ ป็นคนดีและจะไม่พดู โกหกอีก เจา้ กจ็ ะไมส่ ามารถกลายเป็นเดก็ ชายจริงๆได”้
แลว้ นางฟ้ ากช็ ่วยใหพ้ นิ ็อคคิโอหนีจากคณะละครหุ่นกระบอกมาได้ พนิ ็อคคิโอรีบเดินทางกลบั บา้ นทนั ที
แต่แลว้ ระหวา่ งทางเขากไ็ ดพ้ บพอ่ คา้ คนหน่ึง บนรถมา้ ของเขาเตม็ ไปดว้ ยเหล่าเดก็ ชายตวั เลก็ ๆ ท่ีกระโดด
โลดเตน้ กนั อยา่ งสนุกสนาน “เจา้ เดก็ นอ้ ย มากบั ขา้ สิขา้ จะพาเจา้ ไปยงั ดินแดนแสนสนุกนะ” พอ่ คา้ ชกั ชวน
พิน็อคคิโออยา่ งใจดี พนิ ็อคคิโอจึงตดั สินใจไปกบั พอ่ คา้ คนน้นั เม่ือรถมา้ พาเดก็ ๆมาถึงดินแดนแสนสนุก
ทุกคนต่างกส็ นุกกบั การร้องรําทาํ เพลง เล่นเคร่ืองเล่น และเพลิดเพลินกบั อาหารแสนอร่อย รวมท้งั พิน็อคคิ
โอที่มีความสุขกบั เพื่อนๆมาก จนลืมคาํ สญั ญาท่ีใหไ้ วก้ บั นางฟ้ า ไม่นานนกั ธาตุแทข้ องพอ่ คา้ กป็ รากฏ
อาหารและขนมที่เดก็ ๆกินไปน้นั ทาํ ใหห้ นา้ ตาและร่างกายของพวกเขากลายเป็นลาและมีหางเลก็ ๆงอก

ออกมาดว้ ย พอ่ คา้ ขายเดก็ ๆใหก้ บั คนที่มาซ้ือ แต่โชคดีของพนิ ็อคคิโอท่ีไม่เกิดอะไรข้ึนกบั เขา เขาจึงรีบหนี
ออกมาจากท่ีนน่ั และมุ่งหนา้ กลบั บา้ น เม่ือพนิ ็อคคิโอกลบั มาถึงบา้ น กพ็ บแต่เพยี งจดหมายของช่างไมผ้ เู้ ป็น
พอ่ ท่ีเขียนถึงเขาไว้ ก่อนจะออกเดินทางไปตามหาเขาโดยการเดินเรือ ซ่ึงถือวา่ อนั ตรายมากเนื่องจากมีคาํ ร่าํ
ลือเก่ียวกบั สตั วร์ ้ายแห่งทอ้ งทะเลพิน็อคคิโอจึงตดั สินใจเดินทางตามพอ่ ของเขาไปในทนั ที พนิ ็อคคิโอวา่ ย
น้าํ รอนแรมไปในทอ้ งทะเลอนั กวา้ งใหญ่เป็นเวลาหลายวนั และแลว้ โชคร้ายกม็ าเยอื นเมื่อเขาไดพ้ บกบั วาฬ
ทะเลตวั ใหญ่มหึมา สตั วร์ ้ายแห่งทอ้ งทะเลนนั่ เอง มนั กลืนพนิ ็อคคิโอลงไปพร้อมกบั สตั วน์ ้าํ นานาชนิดท่ี
ต่างกพ็ ยายามจะวา่ ยหนีแต่กไ็ ม่เป็นผล พนิ ็อคคิโอครุ่นคิดถึงเร่ืองราวที่ผา่ นมา ในขณะที่เดินฝ่ าความมืดและ
ความหนาวเหน็บในทอ้ งของเจา้ วาฬยกั ษ์ จนกระทงั่ พบกบั แสงไฟจากเรือลาํ หน่ึงที่ถกู กลืนเขา้ มาอยใู่ นน้ี
เช่นกนั “สวสั ดีครับ มีใครอยบู่ า้ งไหมครับ” พิน็อคคิโอร้องถาม “พิน็อคคิโอ โอ้ ลูกพอ่ !” นนั่ คือเสียง
ของช่างไมน้ นั่ เอง เขาออกตามหาพิน็อคคิโอ และถูกวาฬยกั ษก์ ลืนเขา้ มาเช่นเดียวกนั ท้งั สองคนต่างดีใจ
มากท่ีไดเ้ จอกนั อีกคร้ัง พนิ ็อคคิโอและพอ่ หาทางหนีออกจากทอ้ งวาฬยกั ษด์ ว้ ยการสุมไฟใหเ้ กิดหมอกควนั
สร้างความรําคาญใหก้ บั เจา้ วาฬยกั ษจ์ นมนั จามออกมาในท่ีสุด แลว้ สองพอ่ ลกู กอ็ อกมาไดส้ าํ เร็จ กระแสลม
และคลื่นในทะเลน้นั รุนแรงมาก จนทาํ ใหแ้ พของท้งั คู่เกิดแตกก่อนจะถึงฝ่ังไม่นาน พนิ ็อคคิโอเห็นช่างไม้
กาํ ลงั จะจมน้าํ จึงรีบวา่ ยน้าํ เขา้ ไปช่วย พิน็อคคิดอสามารถช่วยพอ่ ข้ึนบนฝั่งไดส้ าํ เร็จ แต่โชคร้ายท่ีเขาถกู
คลื่นซดั กระทบโขดหินจนแน่น่ิงไป ช่างไมพ้ ยายามปลุกพนิ ็อคคิโอเท่าไร เขากไ็ ม่อาจฟ้ื นช้ึนมาไดอ้ ีก เม่ือ
กลบั มาถึงบา้ น ช่างไมเ้ สียใจมากที่พิน็อคคิโอไม่ฟ้ื นข้ึนมาอีกแลว้ นางฟ้ าผมู้ อบชีวติ ใหพ้ นิ ็อคคิโอจึงปรากฏ
กายข้ึนอีกคร้ัง “พิน็อคคิโอ เจา้ ไดพ้ สิ ูจน์ใหข้ า้ เห็นถึงความดีที่เจา้ ทาํ แลว้ ดงั น้นั ขา้ จะมอบชีวิตใหแ้ ก่เจา้ อีก
คร้ัง” บดั น้ีพนิ ็อคคิดอไดก้ ลายเป็นเดก็ ชายท่ีเป็นมนุษยโ์ ดยสมบรู ณ์อยา่ งท่ีช่างไมเ้ คยขอเอาไว้ ท้งั สองคนดี
ใจมากท่ีจะไดอ้ ยรู่ ่วมกนั อีกคร้ัง นอกจากน้ีพนิ ็อคคิโอยงั ต้งั ใจเรียนเหมือนท่ีไดใ้ หส้ ญั ญาไวก้ บั นางฟ้ า และ
