Introduction

Who is Husqvarna?

Husqvarna Group is a global leading producer of outdoor power products for
forest, park and garden care. Products include chainsaws, trimmers, robotic
lawn mowers and ride-on lawn mowers.

The Group is also the European leader in garden watering products and a
global leader in cutting equipment and diamond tools for the construction
and stone industries. The Group's products and solutions are sold under
brands including Husqvarna, Gardena, McCulloch, Poulan Pro, Weed Eater,
Flymo, Zenoah and Diamant Boart via dealers and retailers to consumers
and professionals in more than 100 countries. Net sales in 2015 amounted
to SEK 36 billion, and the Group had more than 13,000 employees in 40
countries.

Our offering

The product offering covers a wide spectrum of applications for
consumers and professional users within the following product
categories:

 Wheeled products – Riders, garden tractors, zero-turn
mowers, lawn mowers, tillers and snow throwers.

 Electric products - Robotic mowers, electric- and battery
powered handheld and wheeled products.

 Handheld products – Petrol-powered chainsaws, trimmers,
clearing saws, blowers and hedge trimmers.

 Watering & hand tools – Water-hoses, couplings, sprinklers,
water controls, pumps and hand tools.

 Accessories – Accessories and replacement parts such as
cutting equipment, lubricants, safety equipment and clothing.

 Construction products - Power cutters, demolition robots,
drilling equipment, wall- and wire saws, tile saws, floor
grinders and all related diamond tools. Diamond tools for

What Is A Product Feature?
A product feature is an actual, physical property or function of the product. It
is something about the product or inherent in the design that is beneficial,
but is not, in and of itself, the benefit. Here some examples related to
Blowers:

Feature: Adjustable rear handle

Benefit: The rear handle is adjustable to facilitate cutting the sides and
tops of hedges

Feature: Low Vib. Fitted with a LowVib system (anti-vibration springs)

Benefit: Effectively reduces vibrations from the handle and throttle
control

Therefore a feature of a product might be something like the materials that it
is made from. For example, a forged three-piece crankshaft versus cast iron
and lesser pieces. Think of product features as product characteristics or
specifications. A feature is something you can find listed in the product
specifications, on our website or in the Dealer Sales Manual.

What Is A Product Benefit?
A product’s benefit results from the feature. It is what is ‘in it’ for the
customer. In fact, the product benefit answers that most crucial of questions
your customers have – “What’s In It For Me?” In other words, that durability
lends a benefit to the customer in that the product is more robust, will
last longer, therefore they will need to replace parts less often which will
save money and time in the long run. Think of a benefit as why a product is
good. A benefit is something you would list in your promotional materials,
the reason why your customer should buy, not what they are buying.

What’s More Important to the Consumer?
Customers will sometimes look to see what the features of a product are for
the sake of comparison, but by and large they care about one thing – that
“What’s In It for me?” Customers are most interested in the benefits because
that is what is helpful and of most importance to them.

It is important to offer key features in a product description where it can be
accessed, but it is most important to let customers know how that feature
helps them. Don’t rely on customers to understand features alone. Tell them
the benefit of what buying your product or service will bring. Explain to them
why your product or service is superior and beneficial, and give them the
benefits – the reasons that they need to buy your product and features.
