Coco I would grow KIND KALMIA flowers because they would remind everybody to be kind to each other. If everyone in our school tried hard to be kind then we could spread kindness around to others and the whole world would be a much kinder place. Penelope I would plant SHARING SNOWDROP seeds, so people would know what to do at school. Sharing your ideas and your things will help children to share their things and make the world a better place with these amazing flowers! Rosa I would plant CRAZY CARNATION seeds so everyone can be a little bit crazy! Everyone thinks that crazy is fun - yes it is and you need to have lots of fun at school. I really think people should let go and be crazy sometimes, not all of the time, because it makes you feel good and everyone should feel good at school! Sophie I would plant SMILING SNAPDRAGON seeds because if someone is sad they can look at these flowers and be happy and smile FOREVER! Smiling is fun because if you don ’t smile you don ’t have fun. If smiling wasn ’t a thing, fun wouldn ’t exist. So Smiling Snapdragons would be so important to grow at our school.
Peter I would plant SMART SWEET PEA seeds so people can learn lots and go to university. Children will then grow up and get good jobs and they could give their money to the poor so they can buy food, clothes and have shelter. These flowers could help people to live happy lives. Otis I would plant GRATEFUL GARDENIA seeds so people will be reminded to be more grateful and to try to be more helpful around the school. They would make people more aware of all the things they have and not think about things they don’t have. They would help them to be happy and grateful for what they have got. Flynn I would plant POSITIVITY PANSY seeds because being positive about things makes people always try their best with everything they try to do. Emma I would grow BELIEVE IN YOURSELF BEGONIAS because if we have more belief in ourselves then we know that if we try really hard we can do it. Sometimes, if we are trying to do difficult things, it is too easy to give up. These begonias will help us to take on challenging tasks and help us believe we can do it. Catherine I would plant EMPATHY ERICA seeds because they could remind us to try to put ourselves in other people’s shoes. If we can understand how people are feeling then we can help others more and be better friends to each other.
Zoe I would plant FUN FORGET-ME-NOT seeds because they would help everyone to have fun and be playful with each other. These flowers will help everyone to realise that having lots of fun makes everyone happy! Yufei I would plant ARTISTIC AMARYLLIS seeds so people would be more creative and people would think more creatively. These flowers could also help people to become great artists and maybe go on to sell their art and become famous and get lots of money! Stella I would grow LAUGHING LILIES, because if you’re feeling sad you can go and walk to the Laughing Lilies in our school garden and they will make you feel better. These flowers will help you to feel happy every day and everyone feels better when they’re laughing! Ryan I would plant TRYING YOUR BEST TULIPS. It’s very important to keep going, even though sometimes things might feel hopeless. For me, the best prize is you actually trying your best. This flower will cheer people up when they’re feeling hopeless and make them want to try harder and have a go. Nevalia I would grow CARING CROCUS flowers so they can remind us to be kind and care for each other. Mackenzie I would plant CURIOUS CHRYSANTHEMUMS because you can’t learn much if you don’t have curiosity! You would get really bored at school if you didn’t want to discover new things or ask questions. These flowers would remind you that we really need to be curious in life. Just think what school would be like without curiosity (it would be really boring)! Isla I would grow LISTENING LILAC flowers because you need to listen to all the people who care about you, like your Mum and your Dad. It could change the world because if everybody listened to friends, family and teachers too you would be so smart and your brain would be so useful! Isabella In my garden I would grow CONFIDENT CLEMATIS. If you smell them you would feel brave enough to try anything. You would feel confident to share your ideas with others and have a go at everything. These flowers would encourage you to have confidence trying to run really fast or to jump really high too. Cole I would grow CREATIVE CANDYTUFT flowers so people could always have good ideas and share them. So if someone got into an argument they could think creatively and easily solve the problem. Also, they could help people to think more creatively so they’d be happier. Kees I would grow FOCUS FOXGLOVE flowers. Another awesome year for Netball at Belmont Primary with 87 excited girls representing the school and ready to have FUN. The school had 10 teams playing at two different locations. Seven teams playing at Netball North Harbour during the week and three teams playing Fun Ferns at the Ngataringa courts on a Saturday morning. It was so lovely to see the kids learning new skills, making new friends and just enjoying the Netball season. All teams played with great spirit and determination. Congratulations Belmont 6/1 winning Grade 3, Belmont 4/1—runners-up Grade 1, Belmont 5/1—runnersup Grade 1. Fantatic effort. Thank you to all our amazing coaches and managers without your support and commitment our netball couldn’t happen. I look forward to seeing you all back again next year and we wish all the best to our Year 6 netballers. I hope you continue to play and enjoy the sport. 6/2 5/1 5/2 4/1 4/2 Bears 6/1 had a great season winning grade 3. We had some challenging games throughout the season. It was a lot of fun and we developed a heap of skills over the season. We are grateful that Mr Cunningham could come to heaps of the games as well as Mrs Levitt and Miss Peake who came to our final game. Our team was an amazing group of girls who have been playing together since the day they started netball in fun ferns. We have loved playing for Belmont Primary A massive thank you to Rebecca Shaw and Charlotte Morrison, the 6/1 coaches. We couldn't have done it without you. You guys helped us develop all of our skills we now have. YOU ARE AMAZING!! Frankie & Eila 6/1 6/3 Sapphire Gems Stars
2022 can be marked down as a year of no interruptions for most winter sports. For our hockey families, this brought a sense of satisfaction for both kids and parents alike. This year saw Belmont Primary fielding three teams in the NHHA Primary Winter Hockey Competition - a Year 6 team, a Year 5 Team, and a Year 3/4 team. It was great to have 12 new kids trying out hockey for the first time and enjoying themselves. Not bad for when you consider there were 25 in total! All the teams played well with a standout performance from our Year 3/4 team who took the top spot in their year 3/4 Mixed grade - it just happened to also be the top grade! An incredible effort especially considering it was all Year 3 players except for one Year 4, and only 2 players had ever played before. Thanks must go to our awesome team of coaches - Aaron, Tereza, Briar, Mark, and Matt. And thanks to our awesome bunch of sideline parents who turn up no matter what the weather and gave great encouragement to their kids.
All of the children in the Senior and Middle Syndicate went down to the Belmont Primary Pool and competed in a fun swimming carnival. A swimming carnival is for all kids, they don ’t need to be good swimmers because there are fun activities that don ’t require any swimming skills. The swimming carnival is for having fun and winning points for your house. This year there was no Interschool swimming because of COVID so the best swimmers went over to TGS to compete in all the different interschool events.
