SPOTLIGHT 10th Anniversary of Saint-Gobain Foundation (Global & India)

The Saint-Gobain Group worldwide celebrated the 10th Anniversary
of the Saint-Gobain Foundation in June 2018. During the
Anniversary Week, from 11th to 15th June, the Group encouraged
employees to get involved in several ways and support the
actions led by the Foundation. This through, direct donations to
associations, materials donation, sharing of expertise, employee
volunteering and more.

The Group in India too celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Saint-
Gobain India Foundation (SGIF) around the same time. To celebrate
this important milestone in the life of SGIF, a host of employee
volunteering initiatives were organized across locations under the
banner of Fun School and Random Acts of Kindness (RAK).

The Fun School initiative encouraged our people to devote a few
hours and teach the underprivileged children visiting the office/
factory site during the Anniversary week. The idea was to convert an office/ factory area into a classroom and ask
employees to volunteer and teach a bunch of children during the week. A series of learning sessions on Robotics,
Astronomy, Product Manufacturing, Art & Craft and Life Skills were conducted by employees from across locations.
Some of the sites visited schools & NGOs close to their vicinity and organized sapling plantation/ cleanliness drive
along with the children.

The RAK initiative began a couple of weeks prior to the Foundation’s Anniversary week. As a part of this initiative,
employees from across locations were encouraged to do just one random act of kindness and upload selfie of
them doing the random act along with a short message. From spending a few hours at an old age home to giving
a refreshing drink to the traffic police to donating books and toys, the initiative garnered a huge response, with
employees spreading the wave of kindness in the month of June.

MARKET BUZZ GNO Abrasives Launches ‘Unite’ – a Retailer Connect Initiative

With a view to enhance its business relations in the retail market,
Grindwell Norton’s (GNO) Abrasives business recently launched
‘Unite’ – an all-inclusive marketing initiative exclusively for its
Retail Partners (Stockists). Introduced in the month of June 2018,
the initiative focuses on three major marketing activities – periodic
retailer meets, knowledge sharing through a quarterly newsletter and
a mobile application to increase consumer touch points and assist in the sales process.

like easy product search through item code or category, uploading invoices directly from the mobile and earning
and redeeming loyalty points. Within a month of its launch, around 1000 retailers from across India have started
