At Red Centre Caravans we are a specialised caravan builder, the vans are built right here in Australia. We listen to your needs and take the time to match you with the right caravan to suit your needs. By using years of industry knowledge and our own research and development, we offer a great range of on-road, semi off-road and full off-road caravans. Through our extensive caravan building history and R&D we have continued to evolve our caravans. We don’t ever sit still and rest thinking what we have created is good enough. Building a caravan is a very complex exercise and we manage everything right down to the finest detail. We have input at every stage of the build from using 100% Australian steel for the chassis right through to the quality fittings and inclusions. OUR PRODUCTION FACILITY Being Australian made, the Red Centre range of caravans are meticulously hand built from start to finish in our factory in Melbourne. Every aspect of the caravan build that we can do, we do in house. All the frame work is done by our employees not contractors. We do all of our own electrical wiring with our own A grade electrician, we have permanent plumbers in our factory, bench tops are made in house, cupboard doors are made in house and all the furniture is made by our employees. We feel by employing our own staff, we have more control over the job and we get a better overall product at the end of the build. *All specs and sizes are current as at date of publish (Feb 2023)
CHASSIS Our chassis’ are 100% Australian made. We only use the best technology and components to build the chassis. All of our chassis’ are engineered specifically to suit our Red Centre range of caravans using 100% Australian steel. SUSPENSION We have designed and built our own suspension, using the latest in design and testing. Red Centre suspension bearings are a Japanese bearing and our shock absorbers are from the trusted Aussie brand Pedders. With independent suspension it is very important to have the correct angle for the shock absorber and spring to work to their maximum capability. When you look at the suspension under a Red Centre Caravan, you will be able to see that we have these angles right. CARAVAN FRAME When we build a Red Centre Caravan we use an aluminium frame to ensure you will never have any issues with rot in your van. We use the latest technology to construct our aluminium frame. We have worked tirelessly to design and develop our frame to be the toughest on the market. The tough aluminium frame offers great strength whilst allowing for any stress or give the frame needs to easily transfer through the whole side of the caravan absorbing the energy and pressure evenly, rather than transferring from one pressure point and creating another pressure point. Our aluminium outer composite cladding offers great protection against hail and the rough conditions Australia throws at it. ROOF Our roof is a full one piece sandwich panel construction. We strengthen the roof at different points where needed to make it robust whilst also keeping the full insulation properties of the roof. The sandwich panel construction we use allows great insulation properties for the harsh Australian conditions. The components are sourced from Europe and the roof is made here in Australia, where it is pressed and CNC cut to the specific needs of every van. It is lightweight, but very durable and is cutting edge technology.
At Red Centre Caravans we offer a large range of models in different layouts. We give you, the customer, a wider choice of caravans to suit your needs. Please see our overview below of the models which we hope will help you choose which model best suits your needs: The Kimberley is a true semi off-road caravan designed to be self contained when free camping and offers a range of features for longer trips free camping. It still comes in at a good tare weight and is also great for caravan parks, but gives you the option to get off the beaten track. The Kimberley + is the first of our full off-road series. It offers a huge range of features for people to go off grid and enjoy more remote parts of Australia. It’s still a great touring van as well, so a really good all rounder wherever you want to go. The Tanami is a tough, full off-road caravan with a huge list of extras, ready for you to take it anywhere. It has unparalleled off-road capability, it is a great van with no limits. The Tanami +, well what can we say, other than it is an extreme off-road beast. Fully set up for off grid, with all the bells and whistles. Just hook it on and go, Australia is waiting for you to discover it all in your Tanami +. The Oasis has all the off-road capabilities of the Tanami +, but has all the mod cons added to it including a fully automated satellite dish and air bag suspension, so if you are after complete luxury whilst travelling in remote areas, then this is the van for you. Our Family series of layouts are available in all of the above models. You just need to work out your families destinations and needs and we will have a model and layout to suit. AVAILABLE LAYOUTS Here at Red Centre Caravans we have a layout to suit everyone’s individual needs. Every layout that we have on offer is available in every model, it’s simple, just choose a layout that works for you and then let us know which model suits your caravanning specifications. If there is something else that you would like or need, we can help you out with this also. L shaped dining and single beds are available in most layouts, whilst recliner chairs can also be a feature in your van in selected layouts. In the past we have also been able to help those with specific individual needs, for example; disability modifications, we’ve even installed dialysis machines. Dean and Courtney Goudie are the owners of Red Centre Caravans and they wanted to take this opportunity to introduce themselves and give you a bit of insight into who they are. They both grew up in rural Victoria after moving from Melbourne at a very young age. Both of them completed their schooling in the country and got to know each other at high school. Dean left school at 15 to pursue an apprenticeship and Courtney stayed on to study and went on to university to become a teacher. Dean’s apprenticeship was in the small town of Rutherglen at the local panel beaters where he learnt to repair and repaint everything from cars, trucks, tractors, right through to caravans and motorhomes. Together, they opened their first business at 21 years old, repairing cars and caravans in Yarrawonga, Victoria, where they still live today with their 3 children; Charlotte, Braith and Slater. As the years passed, Dean’s ambition to not only repair caravans and motorhomes, but to manufacture them grew and he sold the automotive side of their business to focus on caravans and recreational vehicles.
