STORY TITLE: A SECOND CHANCE SOUNDS NICE

After a dreadful mission on a faraway island, out of 4 soldiers ,only one survived
and that lucky survivor was Lugh Tuatha. With all his comrades dead, he was
stranded on the island without any help from his squad. Alone on the island,
there was no food for him to eat and the water was too saline to drink. After nine
hours on the island, he realized that the only means of survival for him was to
feed on his dead comrades until he could get a stable food source.
Night drew near and darkness came, afraid of the dark, he built a small tent to
sleep in till morning. Days and weeks passed but he was still yet to see any sign of
help—he was still stranded on the island. With no food left to eat Lugh became
desperate and started looking for edible food all over the island. Climbing a large
boulder he accidentally slipped and crushed his head to the rocks. Slowly he
opened his eyes as he groaned and touched his forehead. All he could see was a
bright yellow light glowing magically from the corners of a small room. Trying to
look around, he heard a female voice saying with echoing laughter ‘Despite being

the world’s finest soldier, you stupidly allowed yourself to die.’ Not getting what
was going on, he asked the female voice if she could explain what was happening.
After a long period of deafening silence, she told him that she is a goddess who
had summoned his soul after death. Lugh asked, ‘can you tell me why you
brought me here? She replied, ‘I didn’t bring you here, the rocks brought you
here.’ You have two options.’ she said, ‘One; you would have your soul wiped
clean and be reborn as a stranger. Two; you would be reborn in another world
where you can keep your memories, retain your knowledge and experience and
enjoy a new life.’

He chose the second alternative and as a military man, he knew that he would be
asked to kill someone. The goddess said to him, ‘you will be reborn in a fantasy
world of swords and sorcery, and yes, I would like you to kill the hero there. She
continued by that the time limit will be 18 years after he would be born. The
goddess explained her reason to Lugh and Lugh hastily agreed. After their
discussion Lugh was reincarnated into a fantasy world of swords and sorcery. He
was reincarnated to a family of assassins. Years passed and Lugh became familiar
with the new world he had been reincarnated into. As he grew, he prepared and
trained for his mission which was to kill the hero in that world, the very person
who was making that world a better place.

In a short period of time Lugh learnt how to use sorcery and swords. At the age
of 16, Lugh had an encounter with the hero, and as they both stood in front of
each other they were ready to attack. Out of nowhere they both aimed their guns
at each other and started firing. Lugh shot the hero in the chest and the hero fell
into a river and disappeared. Suddenly, a whispering voice repeated these words
‘I will be back to get you. Keep in mind, I’m not gone for good.’
