1.Sports provides a healthy and enjoyable means of
keeping fit for both adults and children. The physical
effort we make to swing a racquet, kick a ball, run
and jump increases the heartbeat. Besides, playing
games regularly burns up fat and builds up our
muscles. We feel less lethargic and more energetic.
2. Sports also provides an alternative outlet for
teenagers to occupy their time. Teenagers are young
and have a lots of energy. They need an outlet for
this energy. Unfortunately, nowadays, in most
families, both parents work. Therefore, with no adult
supervision, some teenagers gravitate towards
undesirable activities such as smoking, taking drugs
or joining gangs.
3. One other very attractive aspect of sports is
that we can actually earn a lot of money if we
are very good in what we do.Professional
athletes also earn a great deal of money
through sponsorships by huge companies. Once
they retire, these athletes continue to earn
money by coaching or marketing sports
merchandise such as shoes, boots or racquets.
4. Based on Stham Sen (2016), through sports,
we can enhance the image of country an
people. When we take part in international
sports competitions such as the Olympics and
win, we promote our country. We make our
citizens proud and show off to the world our
capabilities.
5. Sports help in character building, developing
leadership skills and improving goal setting
capabilities. A person who engages more in
sports activity regularly will automatically have
improved self-esteem, increased social
interaction and more resilient qualities which will
make him or her to progress positively in his life.
6. We can learn the value such as patience,
struggles, teamwork and planning through
sports.
