President’s Message 2024 Dear Members, Season’s greetings from OCC! A new year brings about new beginnings and I hope everyone who attended our Red Carpet Countdown Party at the Grand Ballroom had a fabulous time, counting down to 2024 and ushering in the new year with fellow OCC members. Last year was the first full year that our activities were not affected by any COVID restrictions. We were able to bring back our events for our members’ enjoyment. Our social and recreation team brought back the OCC SuperSprint Swim Meet in the second half of 2023 which was met with overwhelming response from swim clubs and swim enthusiasts alike. Also recently concluded were the President’s Cup on 22 October 2023 (Sun) and the Oktoberfest Golf on 29 October 2023 (Sun). My heartfelt thanks to all members who are always supportive of our Club events. You can refer to pages 13-16 for the golf events and pages 23-24 for the highlights of the swim meet. 2024-2025 General Committee Members I would like this opportunity to announce that the current General Committee members will be continuing their term for 2024-2025. It is our pleasure to be able to serve as Committee members and we hope for your continued support. I would like to share a few initiatives that we are embarking on this year. iGolf Mobile App First, we will be launching iGolf mobile app for phase 2 of the iGolf project. Taking into consideration all the feedback gathered so far from the web version, we will be working on improvements for the mobile app version. We hope to launch the iGolf mobile app in the first quarter of 2024. More details will be released closer to the launch, so stay tuned to our eDMs! Premium Deluxe Rooms Secondly, Orchid Golf & Resort Hotel have launched the Premium Deluxe Rooms that boast a rain shower, a large TV, premium sheets and bathroom amenities, a complimentary minibar, and a Nespresso coffee machine. Renovations were completed last month and for those who are curious, turn to page 8 for a sneak peek of the new room features and layout. e-Birthday Vouchers Thirdly, in our efforts to digitalise the Membership experiences of our members, OCC will be introducing our new Digital Birthday Voucher in the first quarter of 2024. We will be sending the vouchers digitally via email and members just need to click on the corresponding link to redeem the vouchers at participating outlets in OCC. More details will be shared via our weekly eDMs soon. Do keep a lookout for it! OCC Calendars and Chinese New Year 2024 Red Packets Following past years’ practice, you should have received the 2024 OCC calendar in November 2023. The 2024 OCC red packets that will be mailed out together with your December Statement of Accounts this month. 2024 Ang Pow Fund Contribution On behalf of the management and staff of OCC, I would like to sincerely thank each and every member who contributed to the 2024 Ang Pow Fund. President’s Cup 2023 This year’s President’s Cup was held on 22 October 2023 (Sunday) and 207 golfers participated in the tournament. The Club President’s Cup is held annually for golfers to network while enjoying a friendly game of golf. Golfers excitedly tee-off at the sound of the shotgun. In between swings, golfers get to replenish their energy with snack carts strategically located around the golf courses. Participants headed to Jade Foyer after their game for a night of delicious food, live music, lucky draw and were treated with take-home durians. 32nd OCC Supersprint Swim Series (November Edition) The 32nd OCC Supersprint Swim Meet held on 19 Nov 2023 (Sun) drew 275 swim enthusiast from various swim schools and clubs who competed against each other in the different swim categories. A Team Relay category was added in the November edition of the OCC SuperSprint Swim Meet and responses were overwhelming. Participants aged between 5 to 60 years old had a great time challenging their peers in the respective age groups and we can’t wait for the next SuperSprint! 23 The Orchid - PLAN & PLAY
