message
Dear Members,
Warmest greetings from OCC!

Lookback on 2022

We are close to the end of 2022 and we can lookback to significant changes, in particular the return of Club
events at OCC. This easing of Safe Management Measures has allowed us to start bringing back Club events.
Another significant milestone is the completion of the golf course renovations. The course renovations were
originally scheduled to start in Feb 2020 but was deferred in view of the COVID 19 pandemic. The opening of
Aranda for play on 30 July 2022 marked the end of the golf course renovations. I am sure you all agree that there
are more activities at the Club now.

Upcoming Club Events

The Captain and Lady Captain’s Cup has recently concluded and it was a roaring success. This was the first
Captain and Lady’ Captain’s Cup after 2 years. It was heart-warming to see Members supporting our Club
events and enjoying every moment of it. Unfortunately, nobody managed a hole-in-one and get the prize but
not to worry! There are many more upcoming opportunities. Please join us for upcoming events such as our
25th Secretary-Cup and President’s Cup on 20 November (Sun) and 27 November (Sun) respectively.

Members have also been eagerly waiting for our traditional countdown party! This will finally take place this
year on 31 December. Such events had to be cancelled due to the pandemic and I must say, it has been a quiet
2 years so we hope to see everyone counting down to 2023 with a bang! Flip to page 16 to find out how to RSVP.
Reserve early to avoid disappointment!

We will continue to strive to bring more events to Members for your enjoyment and hope for your continuous
support.

Chinese New Year 2023
As Chinese New Year falls on 22 and 23 January in 2023, we have included CNY reunion lunch
dinner packages and promotion from Ban Heng in this issue. Remember to check them out
on pages 17-18.

As we start our own preparations for CNY, let’s not forget about our Rank and File staff who
are always working to bring the best side of OCC to you, our Members. Your contribution
to the annual “Ang Pow” Fund means a lot, and it signals your support and
appreciation to them.

On behalf of the Club, I would like to wish all Members and their families a very
Merry Christmas and blessed New Year! May the holiday seasons bring joy and

Challenge
2022

The Union Challenge is a competitive
bowling event that pits the bowling skills of
different Unions against each other.
This collaborative event between Orchid
Bowl and U Sports, held at Orchid Bowl
@ OCC, was a roaring success. Making
a comeback after 2 years, bowling
enthusiasts formed 56 teams and
competed in the event, which was split into
2 sessions on Saturday, 17 September 2022.

Nagomi Pastel Art is an art form suitable for any age group (4 and above)
and is well known for the therapeutic effects on its learners.

Participants will learn finger painting techniques using pastel powder shaved
