Captain’s Message Dear Members, Greetings from OCC! With a blink of the eye, we are nearing the end of the year again. It was almost 1 and a half years ago that we completed the golf course renovations and are proud that Aranda and Dendro were nominated for the World Golf Awards 2023. To maintain the courses in their pristine conditions, intensive maintenance work was carried out on the greens to ensure members always get to enjoy a perfect green. With that said, we would also like to remind members to play your part in helping to maintain the optimal playing conditions of the golf course by repairing ball marks on the greens, repair any divots on the fairways and rake bunkers. A simple action goes a long way in keeping the course in pristine condition. Golf Improvement Works To ensure you can continue to enjoy a full 9hole and 18hole game, we have split Dendro 6 into Dendro 6A and 6B and Vanda 6, into Vanda 6A and 6B. This is so that we can close one hole for intensive maintenance without any disruptions to your game. We have recently completed the maintenance work for Dendro 5 and Vanda 1 and have started work on Dendro 3 and Vanda 3. The alternative holes will be in place until rectification works on all holes are completed. We have also recently completed renovation works to our Driving Range landing zone. This improvement work took about 10 weeks to complete and was necessary to enhance the overall golfing experience and standard of the Driving Range. Launch of iGolf The new golf booking system – iGolf, was launched earlier in May, much to the excitement of members. Prior to the launch of iGolf, randomly selected members were invited to try out the beta version and provide feedback on improvements. Thank you very much to these members for your initial inputs. It has greatly aided in the development of the booking system. Please rest assured, we will continue to work on further improving iGolf as we move along, so keep the feedback coming. For example, a mobile app is being developed for easier access and better user experience for members. Upcoming Club Events The recently concluded President’s Cup held on 22 Oct 2023 (Sun) and the Oktoberfest Golf on 29 Oct 2023 (Sun) were a roaring success and I would like to thank all participants for your support of our Club events. We hope for your continuous support for our upcoming Christmas Golf/Quarterly Medal cum Members’ Engagement Session happening on 17 Dec 2023 (Sun) and Red Carpet Countdown Party on 31 Dec 2023 (Sun) at Grand Ballroom. Members’ Engagement Session After completing their game, golfers were treated to yummy buffet dinner catered by Royal Palm at Sapphire Suite for the Members’ Engagement Session. It was a great opportunity for OCC members to meet up with Greens Committee Members and OCC Management over food and drinks and get a chance to know each other better. The live band present added to the already liven atmosphere and everyone had a great time! Some of the feedback received were that it was always the same members playing on local reciprocal flights, and members hoped that OCC could secure more reciprocal flights too. The Golfing team is working on this and has also reiterated and emphasized the booking rule to members in the eDM sent on 21 September 2023. They have also asked for an ice maker at the buggy bay, which was promptly followed up on and installed on 14 October 2023. Another feedback is to install distance markers on the additional holes, which have been completed. We thank members for their feedback as we continually work together to improve the golfing experience at OCC. Lastly, congratulations to all the winners of the Quarterly Medal and we look forward to seeing you again in our next Quarterly Medal cum Members’ Engagement Session.

Participants registered, collected their pack-filled tote bags, and headed to their respective tee boxes to tee off. August Ball 2023 t was a night filled with twists and turns as the excitement of the dancers resonated throughout the Grand Ballroom. This year’s August Ball theme was Into The Night and the party lasted indeed. Chinese cuisine was served throughout the night, accompanied by social and ballroom dancing music in between courses, signalling the start of a dance jam. It was a beautiful show of graceful and elegant moves as dancers sashayed across the dance floor, in time to the beat of the music.
