started by Dr. Kung-Li Deng, a Princeton
University PhD graduate. He spent 15
years managing teams in global
corporations before returning back to
Princeton, NJ to start Enlighting and 5
Rock Academy. Youth GPS 2017 birthed
from his vision to equip and train youth in
this generation to be successful future
leaders.

About Us

Youth Global Passion Summit 2017 was birthed with a vision
from Enlighting Corporation, an advising company located in
Princeton, NJ, to raise up the current generation to be future
leaders in society by equipping them with necessary leadership
and character skills through a week-long conference that
challenges them in critical and strategic thinking while building
interpersonal skills through electronic-free group interaction.
Enlighting Corporation provides the advising tool, while 5 Rock
Academy is an educational organization that works with youth
in a global society. Both organizations have partnered with local
Dali organization, Rock Solid Adventures, to challenge youth to
mentally and physically challenge themselves through a series of
outdoor activities. This conference provides a holistic approach
for youth, combining an entreprenuerial conference with a 4-
day outdoor adventure training camp.

Dali used to be an 10
important trading town on
the Ancient Tea and Horse
Road. People would come
through trading horses and
tea. It was the epi-center of
trade connecting Han China
with Tibet and Southeast
Asia with India. You can
imagine the busy bustling
streets as people from
different ethnicities and
cultures met to trade tea,
horses, herbs, salt and yak.

approximately 20 ethnic
minorities now living in the
region with the Bai minority
as the largest group,
accounting for 65% of the
city's total population.
Naturally, with the Bai

CULINARY SPECIALTY

Xuan Wei Ham

1 1915 Gold Medal winning ham originating from

Yunnan. It has been around for 250 years.

2 Pu-Er Tea
3 Type of fermented tea produced in Yunnan. Avid
drinkers believe that this tea helps to lower bad
cholesterol, cleanses the blood and aids in 12
digestion.

Crossing the Bridge Noodles
One of the most well-known dishes of Yunnan
cuisine. Once ready to eat, it is transferred to a
smaller bowl. This is why the noodles are called
“crossing the bridge”!

the highest points at the end of the week will get a reward.

Today is your first full day! We will start with a daily morning dance 1. Wear your name tags

Today marks the official first day of the Passionate Social Entrepreneur 1. Wear your name tags
