specifically designed for use with ECL Systems, in q Compact and portable
particular Western blots from mini gels. It allows the q Handles blots up to a size of 52x77mm
chemiluminescent signal to be captured on Polaroid™
film without the need of a darkroom.
Polaroid film 667 is recommended for routine work
while 612 can be used if greater sensitivity is needed.
For work that requires the highest sensitivity and resolution
use Hyperfilm ECL and conventional methodology.

Hypercoat NUCLEAR EMULSIONS
Product description Features and benefits
Hypercoat™ EM-1 and Hypercoat LM-1 are ready- q Ready-to-use, simply melt before dipping and coating
to-use nuclear emulsions that can be used in the
microautoradiography of radiolabels in tissues or cells. q High resolution, uniform crystal size and aggregate free
When using 3H the low energy of this isotope gives results
of the highest resolution best appreciated using Hypercoat q Maximum sensitivity, high silver content allows reduced
EM-1 which produces grains of a fine size. Isotopes exposure times (0.09g Ag/g emulsion)
such as 14C, 35S, 33P, 32P and 125I are best detected with
Hypercoat LM-1 which has a slightly larger grain size q Crystal sizes to suit all applications
optimized for use with higher energy emissions. Both – 0.2µm for general microautoradiography
emulsions come ready-to-use and do not require diluting, (Hypercoat LM-1)
a process that can increase backgrounds. Store in the dark – 0.13µm for high resolution light or electron
at 2-8°C. Compatible with Hypercoat dipping vessels, microscopy of 3H (Hypercoat EM-1)
specially designed glass vessels that facilitate maximum
slide coverage from small volumes of emulsions.
Applications
q Microautoradiography of tissues and cells

KODAK micro-autoradiography
& TEM PRODUCTS
Product description Features and benefits
A specially engineered range of micro-autoradiography q Suitable for medium energy electrons (40-100kV)
products that facilitate high-quality images in Transmission q Range offers flexibility to meet most user needs
Electron Micrography (TEM) and electron diffraction q Films have gelatin overcoat to minimise abrasion
studies. Each of these products offers considerable
latitude in performance, but they are best suited for and a clean gelatin backing to reduce curl
medium-energy electrons (40 to 100kV), although
acceptable results can also be obtained at higher FIG 34
electron-energy levels. The Kodak TEM range
Kodak Electron Microscope Film 4489
This film has approximately half the speed of SO-163 film but
exhibits less curl and shorter pump-down times.
Kodak Electron Image Film SO-163
Approximately two times faster than 4489 film, however
it requires longer pump-down times and shows greater
film curl. When using SO-163 film for the first time,
recalibration of the microscope exposure device is
recommended.
