*For Manganese Tantalum Caps., part of products were applied for disposal, as well
as application for price increase. Due to this, we got last-buy which leads to
increase of sales amount.
*For Polymer Tantalum Caps., the number indicates higher because we could not

have a sales in the last year due to the heavy flood in Thailand. In Apples and
Samsung, the sales for Notebook PC is increasing. The rate of operation has
recovered to 80-85%.
*For the sales for Notebook PC in Taiwan market, Polymer Tantalum Caps. sales is
in trend of decreasing due to decrease of adopted number because of CPU
change to the new comer, Haswell.
*In Taiwan market, the sales of Notebook PC shows no increase compared with last
year. To compete with Apple-Air(thin type PC), others are focusing on thinner type.
*Samsung smart-phone, S4 is not well selling at higher price, whereas old version of
S3 remains sold well. S4 has OLED large screen, but retail price of JPY80,000 is
too high.

RUBYCON Corporation
*Booking shows a good trend gradually. No specific reasons, but as a whole, it
shows a good sign.
*Booking of Aluminum Chip type also shows a good trend. Smaller size has shifted

to MLCC in a large scale, but for over 10Φ of bigger chip type is sold well.
*The reason for increase in sales of screw terminal bigger chip type of Aluminum in
June is good sales for EU market of wind generation. It’s because of re-production
due to an impact of accidental sinking of Mitsui OSK Lines.
*For Snap-In type Aluminum Caps., the sales for white goods, specially,
air-conditioner. After August, the production shows down trend.
*Japanese manufacturers tends to start using Taiwanese or Chinese made

Aluminum Caps., we expect to regain due to their quality problems.
*For Indian market where has no good electric power condition, the movement is to

make rated voltage high from 400V to 450V. We expect to regain the business due
to this issue.

NIPPON CHEMI-CON Corporation
*As same as Rubycon, the booking trend shows a good sign. In term of
environmental factors, for power conditioner related to solar light or white goods,
air-conditioners are in good trend. However, at the moment, power conditioners are
in short of solar battery cells, therefore, it’s going to be in production adjustment for

coming 2-3 months. For air-conditioners, new models will be starting in September
or October.
*In Aluminum Polymer type caps., the trend of market price decrease remains
unchanged due to the cheaper products from Taiwan who are focusing on sales
expansion.
*Market price of Lead-type Aluminum Caps. is at the low US$0.04 for 8Φ(it was
US$0.08 in two years ago). For Chip-type is at the high US$0.05 (US$0.10 in two
years ago)
*Apple ; the forecast of production in June for iPhone decrease 2,500K sets from
6,500K sets. Also, Samsung Galaxy shows decrease to 7,400K sets from
12,000K sets. Motorola shows a bit increase.

*Booking status shows increase by 8% in amount compared with last year due to
depreciation of Japanese Yen.
*Aluminum Caps.; The trend is shift to larger size products from Lead, Chip-types.
*Due to high market price of Car Navigation system, we assume display-audio
products will be increasing in replacement by smart-phone or compact type
navigation system. We predict that the Car Navigation system currently sold at
over JP-Yen 100,000 will be perished.

*We keep producing at the moment by parent company’s enforcement to keep stock.
We are afraid that, in the coming few months, what will happen if there would be no
shipment from stock due to their sales backset.
*It would be more and more difficult situation as it’s difficult to increase prices

despite raw materials and electricity cost hike.
*Our sales team is focusing on sales expansion of large type Film Caps. of which we
just started import from Europe, outside of Tantalum Caps. We can not survive
anymore by Tantalum Caps. only.

OTHERS
*In the field of Automotive, MLCC is acting on offensive. An information says that AVX is
going to start selling at around JP-Yen 10 for 50V/10uF MLCC for Automotive. At the
moment, almost 50% of Aluminum electrolytic caps. is going to Automotive field, however,
for general purpose is mostly dominated by MLCC already. If MLCC will get into Automotive
filed, it’s going to be a headache to us.
