Welcome to the Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skills Training (CIAST). As
Malaysia will be your second home for seven (7) days, we hope the information
in this simple booklet will assist you during your stay in Malaysia. The
Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Working Group On Human
Resource Development 2020 will be conducted at CIAST for :
1) TVET Training Methodology
2) Quality Management System For Automotive
These courses will offer you a series of lectures, practical / hands on
training, discussions and field visits to the Training Institution and Industry in
Malaysia. We really hope that you can have a great experience while staying in
Malaysia and gain good knowledge through best practices sharing during this
course.

Regulations
Punctuality, Attendance &Use Of Mobile Handphones in Class:
i) Participants must be conscious about punctuality. Please observe the programme
schedule.
ii) Attendence and active participation is compulsory in the class/programme and using
mobile handphone for other class requirementis prohibited.
Attire:
i) For lectures, participants are required to wear suitable attire for practical training;
ii) For opening/closing ceremony – lounge suit, national costume or batik is required;
iii) For cafeteria / dining hall – slippers and shorts are not allowed; and
iv) Slippers/sandals and shorts are not allowed for the training.
Meal and Coffee Break:
Weekdays :
i) Breakfast will be provided every day at the hotel from 6.30 am until 8.00 am;
ii) Morning / Afternoon tea break and Lunch will be served at the workshops/classroom;
iii) Dinner can be purchased from various locations in the vicinity of the Hotel;and
iv) No cooking is allowed in the hotel room.
Medical Arrangement :
Medical treatment are provided at government hospital/clinic only and the expenses will be
borne by the government of Malaysia under IMT-GT. In case of an emergency, participants
are eligible to be admitted to government hospitals/clinics.Dental treatment are restricted to
extraction and filling only.

Weekend and Public Holidays:
i) Breakfast will be provided at the hotel at 6.30 am until 10.30 am;
ii) Lunch and dinner can be purchased from various locations in the vicinity of the Hotel;and
iii) No cooking is allowed in the hotel room.
Perdiem:
Perdiem will be given for the duration of programme according to (IMT-GT) regulation.
Participants are expected to receive the allowance by the first day of training. If participants
need to convert currency please be informed that money changers can be found nearby
the hotel.
Transportation:
For daily training day, transportation from hotel to CIAST will be provided. All participants must
be ready at hotel lobby before or at 8:30 am every day

INDONESIA - MALAYSIA - THAILAND GROWTH TRIANGLE (IMT-GT) WORKING
GROUP ON HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
The Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) is a subregional
cooperation initiative formed in 1993 by the governments of Indonesia, Malaysia,
and Thailand to accelerate economic and social transformation in less developed
provinces. Since its formation, IMT-GT has grown in geographic scope and activities
to encompass more than 83 million people. It is now composed of 14 provinces in
southern Thailand, 8 states of Peninsular Malaysia, and the 10 provinces of Sumatra
in Indonesia. IMT-GT is also growing in importance outside of its subregion. The
ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) has recognised IMT-GT as a building block for the ASEAN
Community Vision 2525. In addition, ASEC declared that IMTGT projects and
initiatives complement the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint by serving as a
test-bed before the wider implementation of regional initiatives. IMT-GT’s activities
are therefore not only serving to bring about economic growth and improved living
standards within it's subregional but are also helping to achieve wider regional
integration.

CIAST AT GLANCE
CIAST is the forefront institute in the Ministry of Human Resources and as a leading
organization in the development and enhancement trainers of skills training in
Malaysia.
The centre offers courses in instructor training, supervisory training and advanced skill
training for skills instructors, industrial supervisors and coaches and industrial skilled
workers from the private and public sectors as well as international level. Training
programs at the centre were conducted by experienced instructors with various
technical backgrounds.

The Government of Malaysia will be organizing 2 courses on the ‘TVET Training Methodology
and Quality Management System For Automotive’ for the year 2020. The programmes which
is under the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Working Group On Human
Resource Development will be conducted by the Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill
Training (CIAST), Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia in Shah Alam, Selangor from 17
February to 21 February 2020. The participants from Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia and
Kingdom of Thailand will take part in the course.

participation from those from within and outside the ASEAN region.

Mr. Lim Kim Yook w h o h a s considerable wide experience in all areas of design, preparation, administration
and delivery of soft and technical skills training in Quality and Technical subjects in particular Quality and
Non-Quality Management Systems, Quality Control Circles, QC 7 Tools and New QC Tools, Automotive 5-Core
Tools (PPAP, APQP, SPC, FMEA and MSA), Lean Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM), Supervisory Skills,
Train the-Trainer and 5S Implementation and Auditing, including regulatory and statutory requirements, such as
GMP and HACCP, MDA, GDPMD, US FDA and CE Mark.
From his last over 20 years of excellent track record as a instructional designer and master trainer in the earlier
mentioned subjects, he has trained, coached and mentored numerous participants, who ranges from Shop
floor members to Board of Directors. In total, he has delivered to numerous companies from various industries
