The effort will create a long-term vision for the area and provide strategies to support affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and future growth.Through a community-based planning process, the study will evaluate housing opportunities, infrastructure needs, land use, transportation, public spaces, and neighborhood character. It will also assess development potential in and around the Gateway area, including identifying barriers to housing development and opportunities for future investment.The completed plan will serve as a roadmap for future decision-making and help guide public and private investment while supporting the City’s commitment to expanding affordable housing and strengthening neighborhoods.‣ The Board approved Resolution 26-105 acknowledging receipt of the City of Hot Springs Financial Statements for April, 2026. ‣ The Board approved Resolution 26-106 authorizing grant applications totaling $839,669 for the rehabilitation of Taxiways E, H, and M at Hot Springs Memorial Airport, including $797,685 from the FAA and $41,984 from the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics.‣ The Board approved Resolution 26-108 authorizing a $99,500 work order with Garver, LLC to provide construction administration, engineering oversight, quality control, and FAA compliance services for the Taxiway E, H, and M Rehabilitation Project at Hot Springs Memorial Airport.‣ The Board approved Resolution 26-109 authorizing the purchase of a new ADAaccessible paratransit van for $106,647 using Federal Transit Administration grant funds and a local match. The vehicle will replace an aging transit van and enhance transportation services for passengers with disabilities. ‣ The Board approved Resolution 26-110 authorizing a $74,526 professional services agreement with Garver, LLC to update the Future Land Use Plan Map, a key component of the City’s Forward Hot Springs 2040 comprehensive plan that guides future zoning and development decisions.‣ The Board approved Resolution 26-113 amending Resolution 10911 regarding out-of-state travel for Board members attending the National League of Cities (NLC) City Summit in Nashville, Tennessee, in November 2026. The amendment clarifies travel authorization details, including conference attendance dates, travel expenses, and administrative requirements, ensuring the approved travel aligns with the directors’ submitted requests and City travel policies.‣ The Board approved Ordinance 26-27 establishing an Electronic Funds Payment System for the City of Hot Springs.
