GMB INDUSTRIAL
ACTION BALLOT
UPDATE
Thank you to all GMB members who voted in the recent consultative ballot as
a part of the NHS Pay 2022 campaign.
GMB Regions conducted the ballots Trust by Trust to assist us in being able to
accurately assess where the strength of feeling and voting turnout on moving
to a formal industrial action ballot.
Analysis of these results has determined which parts of the membership will
now receive formal ballots for industrial action.
All Ambulance services and many NHS trusts will be included in this initial
phase of ballots which will run from 24th October – 29th November 2022.
Please note, GMB members working within your organisation will not be
included in this initial phase of ballots due to the low turnout in the recent
consultative ballot.
However, GMB could later ballot members in other NHS Trusts – including
yours.
We need your help to achieve a mandate to do this. You can play a crucial
role in this campaign, so please contact your local GMB Office or Branch so we
can work together to get the required turnout. You can also email us at
[email protected]
We will also be issuing a survey for you to feedback to us on key issues that we
can take forward in this fight for better pay and conditions. Please look out for
this and take part.
You can also continue to support your NHS colleagues by:
• Sending a message of support to colleagues who may be taking
industrial action – email or video – to [email protected]
• Speak to all of your colleagues about the fight for pay justice. Ask non-
union members to join at www.gmb.org.uk/join
• Contact your local GMB Officer to see how you can support ballot
activities within your region, including helping to get the vote out,
attending protests and demos.
• Become a GMB Representative or Activist in your workplace so you and
your work colleagues can get organised to continue the fight.
