CARE AND MAINTENANCE

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL SIGNAGE WITH OR WITHOUT BRAILLE, RAISED LETTERS, & LOGOS
• Signs should be dusted once every three months or as needed.

• Mild soap can be used, but very sparingly and only if necessary.
• Do not scrub the surface especially in the ares where braille, letters, or logos are applied.
• Blot-dry the sign completely. Do not rub dry.
• Do not leave any moisture on the sign.

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURAL SIGNAGE WITH PAPER INSERTS
• Review the above cleaning instructions.
• IMPORTANT: Ensure that no liquid gets between the sign lens and the paper insert or along the

edge where the paper insert is exposed.

VINYL WALL DECALS OR GRAPHICS
• Mild soap applied with a soft cloth can be used. Do not rub or scrub.
• Wipe with damp cloth to remove residual soap.
• Dry with clean towels.

MATERIALS GLOSSARY

HDU FOAM SIGN MATERIAL
HDU (High-Density Urethane) is a closed-cell, rigid urethane foam that is commonly used in dimensional
signs and tool making. It is available in grades that are stable up to 300° F. Its closed cell structure makes it
suitable for outdoor signage, as it doesn’t absorb moisture, and it also won’t crack, rot or peel from outside
exposure. It lasts up to 10 times longer than wood, and meets flammability requirements of ASTM D-1692-74
Burn Test, Far 2.5 and Mil P26514.
