Superior Grades

Clear Grade

Clear Grade represents the highest quality product available in the pre-finished marketplace.
This grade is exceptionally uniform in both colour consistency and clarity and as such
variations caused by staining, checking and mineral streaks, pin knots and character marks
are not found in this grade. With no more than 3 pieces in a row (7.5’) when boxed these long
boards produce a floor that is very clean and consistent.
BOARD LENGTH: 9” through to 84”

Premier Grade

Premier Grade highlights some of the colour variation that is found in natural wood. However,
the overall look of this floor is exceptionally clean because the Premier Grade does not contain
character marks, pin knots, open knots, mineral streaks, stains, or checking. Premier Grade
boards feature our longest lengths with a maximum of 3 pieces in a row (7.5’) when boxed.

Select Grade

Select Grade displays the wood’s natural medley of colour and character. Superior Flooring’s
Select Grade features all of wood’s natural features: colour variation, mineral streaking, small
surface knots and checking. This creates a floor that is full of visual texture. Neither filled nor
open knots are found in this grade. The longer board lengths in Select Grade accommodate
a maximum of 3 pieces in a row (7.5’) when boxed.

Our Original Series is a result of our dedicated investment in higher grade lumber. Our
meticulous selection process translates to fewer knots, blemishes and discolouration.
All of the wood is cut and kiln dried for up to 40 days in a controlled environment under
strict specifications. Highly qualified personnel monitor the kilns to ensure the best
ratio of dryness to moisture content for each type of wood, therefore giving a more
stable finished product.
Precision milling on state-of-the-art equipment ensures uniformity for the perfect fit of
tongue and groove joints. All Superior Hardwood Flooring products, including Original
Series have a four sided micro-bevel edge. The micro-bevel allows for the floor boards
to fit together as tightly as possible, creating a more polished, impressive flooring
finish. Our Original Series offers hardwood flooring like no other in the industry.
