INTRODUCTION
The Highly Immersive Programme, organised by the Language
Department, aims to engage and empower school principals,
teachers, students as well as parents and the surrounding
community to create a highly immersive English environment.
The Ministry of Education has come up with a toolkit from which
teachers can choose a variety of activities to assist the students
in increasing their English language immersion experience and
thus improve their language learning outcomes.

AIMS
The aims of the Highly Immersive Programme are to:
1. Establish collaborative relationships between the Institute
of Teacher Education Kent Campus, especially the
Language Department and various external parties.
2. Act as a stepping stone for the Language Department
lecturers to plan and implement 'Fun Learning'
programmes.
3. Develop and share knowledge related to the
implementation of Highly Immersive Programme activities
in primary schools near the Institute of Teacher Education
Kent Campus.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the Highly Immersive Programme are to:
1. Create an environment that can motivate the use and
spread of English through the planned activities and
programmes.
2. Assist and support the Institute of Teacher Education Kent
Campus in shaping and creating an English language
environment by organising and implementing activities in
the English language.
3. Strengthen the relationship between the Institute of
Teacher Education Kent Campus in general and the
Language Department in particular with schools that have
been selected as guest participants.

APPRECIATION
The implementation of the Highly Immersive Programme is
expected to inject a strong spirit of cooperation and collaboration
between the lecturers and students of the Language Department
and the local schools. The organising committee would like to
extend our deepest gratitude to the five schools – SK Wangkod,
SK Termunong, SK Bolong, SK Tambalang, and SK Linungkuan
– for joining us in making HIP 22 a success. It is also hoped that
this activity will be a long-term project between the Language
Department and external agencies in sharing the teaching and
learning of English.
