RAM MEMORY

 an acronym for random access memory, a type of computer memory
that can be accessed randomly; that is, any byte of memory can be
accessed without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is found in
servers, PCs, tablets, smartphones and other devices, such as printers.

 RAM is a input device
 The place in a computing device where the operating system (OS),

application programs and data in current use are kept so they can be
quickly reached by the device's processor

ROM MEMORY

 Rom is the "built-in" computer memory containing
data that normally can only be read, not written to.
ROM contains the programming that allows your
computer to be "booted up" or regenerated each time
you turn it on.

 ROM memory is an storage device.

MOTHERBOARD

 a printed circuit board containing the principal components of
a computer or other device, with connectors into which other
circuit boards can be slotted.

 It holds together many of the crucial components of a
computer, including the central processing unit (CPU),
memory and connectors for input and output devices.

CD-ROM / DVD-ROM

 Digital versatile disc-read only memory (DVD-ROM) is
a read-only digital versatile disc (DVD) commonly
used for storing large software applications. It is
similar to a compact disk-read only memory (CD-
ROM) but has a larger capacity

 CD,DVD are storage devices

FLASH DRIVE

 A solid state storage module that plugs into the computer's USB
port.

 a small piece of equipment used to store and transfer
information for computers using a USB.

 Used as an output device

NIC CARD (NETWORK INTERFACE CARD)

 contains the electronic circuitry required to communicate using a
wired connection or a wireless connection.

 a computer hardware component that connects a computer to a
computer network.

 This device is both input and output.

VIDEO CARD

 a printed circuit board controlling output to a display screen.
 A video card connects to the motherboard of a computer system using a

slot, typically an Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) or a Peripheral
Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) connection.
 A video card is an output device it is used to drive the computer's display.

CPU

 the abbreviation for central processing unit. Sometimes referred to
simply as the central processor, but more commonly called
processor, the CPU is the brains of the computer where most
calculations take place.

 used for processing instructions of a computer program or
operating system

 This is an input device

EXPANSION SLOT

 a place in a computer where an expansion card can be
inserted.

 a socket on the motherboard that is used to insert an
expansion card , which provides additional features to a
computer such as video, sound, advanced graphics, Ethernet
or memory.

EXTERNAL/INTERNAL HARD DRIVE

 External hard drive is a portable • internal hard drive is the primary
storage device that can be attached storage device located inside a
to a computer through a USB or computer system. It usually contains
FireWire connection, or wirelessly. pre-installed software applications, the
operating system and other files.
 often used to back up computers or
serve as a network drive. • This is also an storage device

 This an storage device

POWER SUPPLY

 is a component that supplies power to at least one electric load.
Typically, it converts one type of electrical power to another.

 A power supply provides components with electric power.

SOUND CARD

 a device that can be slotted into a computer to allow the use of
audio components for multimedia applications.

 a sound card converts digital data to analog sound waves you can
hear.

 Sound Card. Alternatively referred to as an audio output device,
sound board, or audio card.

DOCUMENT SCANNER

 is a device, which converts a document or text from its paper form
into digital data.

 A scanner is always an input device

COMPUTER SPEAKERS

 A device that converts analog audio signals into the equivalent air
vibrations in order to make audible sound.

 Speakers and headphones are output devices that can play sound.

MOUSE

 a handheld pointing device used to position a cursor on a
computer screen. This allows the user to select items stored on a
computer and, subsequently, perform actions on those items.

 This is an input device

SYSTEM UNIT CASE

 is the enclosure for all the other main interior components of a
computer.

 This device contains most of the components of a computer and is
also an input and an output device

LAPTOP TOUCHPAD

 is a device for pointing (controlling input positioning) on a
computer display screen. It is an alternative to the mouse.

 This is an input device

WEBCAM

 a video camera that inputs to a computer connected to the
Internet, so that its images can be viewed by Internet users.

 When sent to a remote location, the video stream may be
saved, viewed or on sent there.

 This is an output device.

KEYBOARD

 is an input device used to enter characters and functions into the computer
system by pressing buttons, or keys.

 It is the primary device used to enter text.

MONITOR

 is an output device which displays information in pictorial form.
A monitor usually comprises the display device, circuitry, casing,
and power supply. ... Older monitors used a cathode ray tube.

INK JET PRINTER

 is a type of computer printing that recreates a digital image by propelling
droplets of ink onto paper, plastic, or other substrates

 Inkjet printers are the most commonly used type of printer, and range from
small inexpensive consumer models to expensive professional machines.

 it is an output device.

LASER PRINTER

 is a popular type of personal computer printer that uses a non-impact (keys
don't strike the paper), photocopier technology. When a document is sent to
the printer, a laser beam "draws" the document on a selenium-coated drum
using electrical charges.

 This is an output device

LIGHT PEN

 a computer input device in the form of a light-sensitive wand used in conjunction with a
computer's CRT display. It allows the user to point to displayed objects or draw on the screen
in a similar way to a touchscreen but with greater positional accuracy.

JOYSTICK

 a joystick is a cursor control device used in computer games and assistive
technology . The joystick, which got its name from the control stick used by a
pilot to control the ailerons and elevators of an airplane, is a hand-held lever that
pivots on one end and transmits its coordinates to a computer.

 A joystick is an input device consisting of a stick that pivots on a base and reports
its angle or direction to the device it is controlling.
