Diet and Hair Checking your hair

What you eat will reflect in your hair. A balanced diet can give your When checking your hair, check the 3 P’s

And just a little reminder…
Proper Sealing
BOXER BRAIDS DO NOT EXIST!!!
Sealing is locking in moisture in your hair, specifically
They’re called cornrows. And they’re not “new”, they’ve the roots and ends. To do that, your hair has to be
been around for centuries. wet. Then you use sealants to lock the moisture in so
that it can’t escape your hair and leave it dry. When
sealing after your regular routine, apply your
conditioner to damp hair in a downward motion (go
from top to bottom). Then apply your sealant. When
you’re done with that, you’re ready to move on to the
next P.

Protective Styling

Before protective styling, make sure you’ve properly
sealed your hair or you’re defeating the purpose of
protective styling. WHen you’re protective styling, you
can choose from any one of the styles listed above or
you can find some different ones. Just make sure
your hair is actually being protected. You’ll know if your
hair is being protected if your hair is:

● Close together and/or layered (ponytails)
● Your hair isn’t loose (bantu knots, twists,

braids, pompadours, updos, etc)
● Your hair isn’t exposed (weave/extensions)
Or
● If your hair is wrapped up

(Turbans/Headwraps)

Curls can be a challenge, but they’re also a blessing. If you’re blessed enough to be born
with an afro, then you have to be responsible enough to take proper caring of it. I know
that sometimes it can be tedious, but trust me, it will pay off. BE PATIENT ! Some
people would kill for curls, but you were blessed. Remember that. And now that you know
how to take care of your curls, it’s your decision to do what you want with it. But be
careful and gentle with your hair. Like Nia Leuvans said “Haircare isn’t an option, it’s a
priority.”
