How can I translate online content from English to my
preferred language? On your computer, phone, or tablet you
can install Google Translate for free. Once installed, it can be
used without internet connection. Google Translate can be
used to translate text, handwriting, speech and websites.
What can I do if I’m having trouble understanding my child’s
school work? It’s okay if you are unsure of how to help your
child. Reach out to your child’s teacher or someone else at
the school. Look for contact information from the school.
How can I find meals for my child? Visit TXSchools.gov
to find nearby locations of schools offering free school
meals (both breakfast and lunch for pick-up) while school
buildings are closed. Select “Meal Pick-up Location” and
enter an address to find the closest location.
How can I set up internet so my child can connect to their
school? TEA has compiled a list of cable providers who
offer free broadband and internet service to support
at-home learning.

CTE PROGRAMS OF STUDY GUIDEBOOKS
In 2020, CTE partnered closely with the
Region 7 ESC Marketing & Communications
department to create Programs of Study
Guidebooks for participating cooperative
schools as a great way to educate parents and
recruit students in the programs offered at
their schools. Districts communicate directly
with the service center to personalize these
guidebooks, and the CTE cooperative covers
the cost in design and printing fees.
Region 7’s CTE team has been extremely responsive and supportive of our
work in Nacogdoches. CTE is constantly evolving at the secondary level.
They are quick to respond to my questions regarding federal Perkins
requirements and accountability indicators, industry certifications, and
general CTE programming and funding. I definitely feel that I am a stronger
CTE administrator because of Region 7’s CTE training and services.
The CTE Guidebooks, provided through Region 7, have been a game changer
for us in terms of program recruitment and promotion.
