SCHOOL CODE OF CONDUCT Purpose: The School Code of Conduct fosters a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment to promote learning, growth, and positive interactions among students, teachers, staff, and visitors. This policy outlines expected behavior and consequences. 1. Respectful Behavior: - Treat everyone with respect, regardless of differences. - No bullying, harassment, discrimination, or disrespect. 2. Responsible Conduct: - Act responsibly for personal and others' well-being. - No theft, vandalism, or harm. 3. Communication and Language: - No offensive language, derogatory comments, or inappropriate gestures. - Communicate respectfully and constructively. 4. Academic Integrity: - No plagiarism, cheating, or dishonesty. - Proper attribution and original work expected. 5. Attendance and Punctuality: - Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. - Follow absence procedures. 6. Technology Use: - Ethical technology use on campus. - No cyberbullying, unauthorized sharing, or harmful online behavior. 7. Dress Code: - Adhere to Uniform code guidelines. - Attire should be modest and conducive to learning. 8. Safety and Security: - Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures. - No unauthorized entry, dangerous items, or compromising safety. 9. Privacy and Confidentiality: - Respect others' privacy and keep personal info confidential. - No sharing personal info without consent. Consequences: Violations may result in: - Verbal/written warnings - Loss of privileges/participation - In-school suspension/detention


ATTENDANCE POLICY Purpose: The Attendance Policy at Bahamas Global Academy highlights the significance of regular attendance and punctuality in maintaining a productive learning environment, fostering student success, and nurturing a strong sense of responsibility. 1. Attendance Expectations: - Students must arrive promptly at 8:00 am. - A grace period of 5 minutes is allowed; late students will be marked tardy. - If a student arrives after 8:15 am without prior notification or valid reason from the parent, 15 minutes of the first break time will be deducted. 2. Excused Absences: - Excused absences include illness, family emergencies, or pre-approved reasons. - Parents must submit necessary documentation for verification. Student reasons will not be accepted. 3. Unexcused Absences: - Absences without valid reason from parents are considered unexcused. - On the first unexcused absence, the student will make up work during the first and second breaks (10 minutes each). - After the third unexcused absence in a quarter, a parent meeting regarding attendance will be scheduled. Tardiness Policy At Bahamas Global Academy, we value punctuality for a positive and productive learning environment. The Tardiness Policy aims to address lateness effectively. 1. Tardiness Definition: - Tardiness is arriving late to school after the designated start time without a valid reason. 2. Tardiness Consequences (same as Attendance Expectations): - Students arriving after 8:15 am without prior notification or valid reason from the parent will have 15 minutes deducted from their first break time. - If a student is consistently tardy, it's advisable to keep them home if you, as the parent, know they will be late.


ACADEMIC INTEGRITY Grading and Evaluation: - Bahamas Global Academy employs a fair and transparent grading system to assess students' performance. - Evaluation criteria, student goals and deadlines are communicated to students consistently. Homework - Homework slips are given when a student has not completed their goals or a monitor sees the need for extra work to be done if a student is falling behind. - Homework slips will be given in the afternoon to those students needing one and must be brought back the next day signed with completed homework. Academic Support: - Students are encouraged to seek help from teachers, counselors, or academic support staff when needed. Honor Roll and Awards: - The school recognizes academic achievements through the honor roll and awards for outstanding performance. - Criteria for inclusion in the honor roll will be communicated, and awards will be given based on specific academic and extracurricular achievements. Academic Misconduct: - Any form of academic misconduct, including cheating, falsifying documents, or assisting others in dishonesty, is strictly prohibited. - Consequences for academic misconduct may include disciplinary actions, parent/guardian notification, or detention. Technology Use in Academics: - Proper and responsible use of technology devices during academic activities is expected. - Guidelines for the use of electronic devices in the classroom will be provided by monitors.


UNIFORM POLICY Purpose: The Uniform Policy aims to foster a sense of pride, professionalism, and equality among students while maintaining a focused and respectful learning environment. This policy outlines the dress code guidelines that students must adhere to while attending school. 1. General Dress Guidelines: - Students are expected to wear clothing that is clean, neat, and modest. - Clothing items must not be torn, frayed, or have holes. - Attire should not be excessively tight or loose. 2. Shirts: - Shirts must be opaque and have sleeves. - Polo-style shirts in the school colors are permitted for casual school days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). - On formal days (Monday), students are required to wear formal attire as specified by the school. 3. Skirts/Dresses: - Skirts and dresses must be of a reasonable and appropriate length, as determined by the school administration. - The school colors should be adhered to for skirts and dresses. 4. Shoes: - Students are required to wear shoes at all times during outdoor times. - Shoes with rubber soles are recommended for safety and comfort. - Students must and will be allowed to wear socks or comfortable indoor shoes for indoor or classroom activities. 5. Grooming and Personal Appearance: - Students are expected to have neatly groomed hair. - Excessive hairstyles, hair colors, or grooming accessories that disrupt the learning environment are not allowed. - Body piercings other than ear piercings are prohibited. - Tattoos and writing on the body must be covered before entering the school premises. 6. Fridays - Dress Down Day: - On Fridays, students have the option to wear their own modest and appropriate attire. - A fee of $1 is charged on these days as a fundraiser to support school programs. 7. Compliance and Consequences: - Students found in violation of the uniform policy may be subject to disciplinary actions, such as counseling, detention, or loss of privileges. - Parents will be notified in cases of repeated non-compliance.

BEHAVIOR DURING FIELD TRIPS AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES POLICY Purpose The Behavior During Field Trips and Extra-Curricular Activities policy ensures that you as a student of Bahamas Global Academy represent the school positively, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and appropriate conduct during off-campus events. Additionally, this policy addresses the use of school uniform and social media to maintain the school's reputation and uphold a respectful environment. 1. Behavior Expectations: - Students are expected to adhere to the school's code of conduct and behavior guidelines during field trips and extra-curricular activities. - Respect for chaperones, teachers, peers, and others outside the school community is paramount. 2. Representing the School: - Students should represent the school with pride and respect while interacting with the public during field trips or representing the school at external events. - Inappropriate behavior, vandalism, or any actions that bring negative attention to the school will not be tolerated. 3. Use of School Uniform: - School uniform is to be worn appropriately and with pride during field trips and when representing the school. - Any misuse, damage, or violation of the uniform policy may result in consequences. 4. Social Media Conduct: - Students should exercise responsible and respectful behavior on social media platforms. - Slandering staff, the organization, or displaying harmful behavior related to the school can lead to severe consequences, depending on the severity of the action. 5. Consequences for Misconduct: - Inappropriate behavior during field trips or extra-curricular activities may result in consequences such as a verbal warning, parent/guardian notification, suspension from future events, or other disciplinary measures. - Misuse of school uniform or displaying harmful behavior on social media may, depending on the severity, be grounds for suspension or expulsion.


HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS Your well-being and safety are our top priorities at school. Please take note of the following guidelines to ensure a healthy and secure environment for everyone: 1. Personal Hygiene: - Wash your hands regularly, especially before meals and after using the restroom. - Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, using a tissue or your elbow. 2. Staying Home When Ill: - If you're feeling unwell, have a fever, or are experiencing symptoms of illness, it's important to stay home. Notify your parents or guardians, and follow any procedures the school has in place for reporting absences. 3. Emergency Procedures: - Familiarize yourself with emergency evacuation routes, assembly points, and the contact information of emergency personnel. - Take all drills seriously, whether it's a fire drill or other emergency practice. 4. Reporting Safety Concerns: - If you notice any unsafe conditions or incidents, report them to your teacher or another school authority immediately. We all play a part in keeping our school safe. 5. Substance abuse can have serious consequences, affecting both individuals and the school community. We emphasize prevention, education, and support for those in need. 1. Prohibited Substances: The possession, use, distribution, or sale of the following substances is strictly prohibited on school premises, during school-sponsored events, or while representing the school: • Illegal drugs, including but not limited to marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, methamphetamine, heroin, and hallucinogens. • Alcohol, regardless of age. • Tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, and e-cigarettes. • Unauthorized prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, or any substances not prescribed by a licensed medical professional. 2. Health and Legal Risks: - Substance abuse poses significant health risks, can lead to legal consequences, and negatively impacts academic performance and personal well-being. 3. Education and Prevention: - The school will provide education on the dangers of substance abuse and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. 4. Support and Confidentiality: - If a student is struggling with substance abuse, we encourage them to seek help from school counselors, teachers, or other trusted staff members. - Any information shared will be treated with confidentiality and aimed at providing appropriate support. 5. INTERNET AND SOCIAL MEDIA USE POLICY Purpose: The Internet and Social Media Use Policy at Bahamas Global Academy is designed to ensure safe, responsible, and respectful online behavior for all students. It outlines the guidelines for using schoolprovided internet resources and encourages the development of good digital citizenship. 1. Responsible Use: - Students are expected to use school-provided internet resources responsibly, for educational purposes, research, and communication with teachers and peers. - Any use of the internet for personal activities should be conducted outside of school hours. 2. Respect for Others: - Be respectful and considerate when communicating online. Treat others as you would in face-to-face interactions. - Do not engage in cyberbullying, harassment, or any form of online behavior that could harm others. 3. Privacy and Confidentiality: - Respect the privacy of others and do not share personal or sensitive information without consent. - Do not attempt to access others' accounts, passwords, or confidential data. 4. SCHOOL BUS USAGE POLICY Purpose: The School Bus Usage Policy outlines the guidelines for safe and responsible use of school sanctioned buses. It ensures the safety of all students while providing efficient transportation to and from school. 1. Eligibility: - School bus services are available for eligible students based on designated routes and stops. - Students must adhere to assigned pick-up and drop-off locations. 2. Behavior Expectations: - Students must conduct themselves in a respectful and orderly manner on the bus. - Follow the instructions of the bus driver and bus monitor at all times. 3. Safety Rules: - Remain seated while the bus is in motion. - Keep aisles clear and refrain from extending limbs outside the bus. - Do not distract the driver or engage in any behavior that might compromise safety. 4. National Pledge I pledge my allegiance to the flag and to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas for which it stands, one people united in Bible Pledge I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God's holy word, I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path and will hide its words in my heart so I might not sin against God Pledge to the Christian Flag I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag and to The Savior for whose Kingdom it stands. One Savior, crucified, risen, and coming again with life and liberty to all who believe.
