all about the painting
program. The painting program is
very funny and interesting program.
You can draw on paper with pencil
and colour to make your drawing
interesting. In the same way you can
do it on the computer. A paint brush
is a simple drawing and painting
program. It helps to create various
types of drawings. Now, we will learn
how to draw in paint program.

How to open Ms Paint in Windows 8?
Click on Start button or press windows key.
Type mspaint on serach box.
From the list, click on Paint.

The Paint window will open as below.

Creating shapes
Look at the given pictures:

There are various types of shapes in paint as we
see above. Some of them are as below.

Square Rectangle Star

Arrow Pentagon Right triangle

You can draw such types of shapes in paint as
given below.

Move the pointer to the required shape.

Click on the required shape that you want to
draw.

Move the mouse pointer to the blank working
screen.

Click and drag the mouse and leave the mouse
button to make a suitable shape as below.

Using Colour on the shape:
You can fill the colour on your drawing shape as
below.
Prepare a shape as given below.

Click on Home tab.
Take fill with colour tool.
Select a required colour.
Click inside a drawing area of shape.
Now you can see the effect of the colour on

your picture as below.

Saving the file
After you create your drawing, you must have to
save it. You can open it whenever you need. There
are some tips to save your drawing.
Click File menu.
Select Save or Save As option.

A box will appear as above.
You can select the desired folder where you

wish to save the image.

Type the file name on file name box and click
on Save button.

Closing the file

After you complete the work, you have to close the
program. You can use the following ways to close
your file.
Method 1
Make sure that you have already saved your

documents.
Click on File menu.
A list will appear as below.

Click on Exit option as above.
Method 2
Click on the cross icon at the top of the right corner
to close the file.
