Who we are
In the year 2011 that marked the seventh year since the batch of 2007 bid farewell to the times as
students of Maliyadeva College, the official inauguration of the Maliyadeva College 2007 group took place in the
month of November under the leadership of Mr. Neranjan Maliyagoda, appointed as the president and
Mr. Sanjaya Wijewardene, appointed as the secretary of the first set of office bearers of Maliyadeva college 2007
Old Boys’ Association wing.

Thus far the OBA group has been proactively contributing to the projects and events conducted within the
college and in relation with the Maliyadeva College Old Boys’ Associationunder five group presidents
namely: Neranjan Maliyagoda, Amal Thennakoon, Sandun Gunawardena, Sameera Herath and Mahesh Adikari.

During the span of time within which the 2007 Old Boys’ Association group has been in existence, the
recognition it has gained within the Maliyadeva College Old Boys’ Association and in the school has been immense
enough to be awarded as the best upcoming OBA group in the year 2018.

This report comprises such milestone achievements of the group and the appointment of board of
officials, executive committee members, projects and events spearheaded by the Old Boys’ Association group as
well as the special occasions of the group members along with the highlights associated with the group
throughout the year.

What we did CONSTRUCTION OF PIRITH MANDAPA

PROJECTs OF THE 2018 The Pirith Mandapa for the Henry Steel Olcott commemoration annual Pirith chanting ceremony which was held on the 16th of
February for the year 2018, was created with the financial and service contribution of our group member
Thilina Madusanka Edirisinghe.

"BRANDED MIRROR HANGERS” FUND RAISING PROJECT

Branded mirror hangers which depicted Maliyadeva crest and branding of our group were sold as a part of a fund-raising
project which contributed for the growth of our trust fund this year. The branding of those merchandise and other
arrangements associated with manufacturing process were done by our group members Mithila Yatawara and Mahesh
Adikari. The invaluable support of our group members Tharindu Weerasekara, Janitha Udara Indeewara and Mangala
Chathuranga in selling these merchandise, was instrumental in successfully completing the sales in a proffitable manner for
the group.

What we did ANNUAL INTER-HOUSE SPORTS MEET -2018

PROJECTs OF THE 2018 Several of our group members made invaluable contributions in both financial and service-oriented means during the annual
inter-house sports meet which was held on 04-04-2018 at the college grounds. As customary for our batch, our members
contributed to give away a cake specially prepared for this event and in addition, our batch took up the task of distributing
Malidev Puwath magazine among the participants which was successfully accomplished with the leadership of Sameera
Lakmal Herath.Moreover, the pens which had been custom-made as the branded merchandise for our batch were also sold
during the sports meet with the support of many of our batch mates and it was able to bring a considerable income to boost
the funds in our account. The following group members: Sandun Shivantha, Janitha Udara Indeewara, Thilina Dissanayake, Buddi-
ma Bandara, Sameera Lakmal Herath, Mithila Yatawara, Asela Jayathilaka, Kanishka Pathirana, Malaka Gunawardane, Salinda
Herath,Gihan Dhananjaya Katupitiya, Nirmal Abeysekara, Mangala Chathuranga are gratefully acknowledged for their constant
support made in this regard.

What we did THE DEVANS' NIGHT 2018

PROJECTs OF THE 2018 The Devans' Night 2018 was held on the 7th of April 2018 in parallel with the annual cricket match between Maliyadeva College
and St. Anne's College, where 25 members represented our 2007 OBA group. Furthermore, Mithila Yatawara and
mahesh Adikari representing our batch held two important positions in the organizing team of this grand ceremony.

SCHOOL CLENING PROJECT

In line with a proposal made by the current principal of our school to the OBA, a “Shramadana” event was organized to
clean several dilapidated and overgrown locations within the school premises on the 22nd of April 2018.
In parallel with this event, our group member Sameera Lakmal Herath took the initiative and contributed both financially
and otherwise to clean the plot of land behind the school hostel premises using backhoes on the 21st of April.

What we did CAR WASH - FUND RAISING PROJECT (CONFLEX - 2018)

PROJECTs OF THE 2018 A car wash was organized by our group on the 20th of May 2018 as a fund raiser event. Our group members Janitha Udara
Indeewara and Nirmal Abeysekara were the coordinators of the project while the executive committee members helped
immensely in selling the tickets and in many other ways. “Wayamba Auto Service” and “Clenol” also provided invaluable backing
as the sponsors of the event.

CREATION OF CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TO AUTOMATE THE REGISTRATION
AND REPORT GENERATION OF THE MALIYADEVA COLLEGE OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION

Our group members Mithila Yatawara and Dileepa Pemasinghe successfully designed a content management system to optimize
number of processes pertinent to the proceedings of the MAIN OBA including ;members registration, members attendance Printing
of membership cards ,Issuing service contribution letters And management of sub groups under the main OBA.This project has
been instrumental in hoisting the brand image of our Group at the main OBA which enabled our group to become all the more
deserving for the best upcoming OBA group in the year 2018 as recognized with an award at the annual OBA dinner held recently.

What we did MALIDEV MELA - 2018

PROJECTs OF THE 2018 The entertainment item known as the dream flight and Hopper hut were presented by our group at the Malidev Mela 2018. These
items were able to accumulate a considerable amount of funds for our group's trust fund.Our group members Sameera Herath,
Thilina Dissanayaka, Mithila Yatawara and Mahesh Adikari the coordinators of the projects while the executive committee
members helped immensely in selling the Malidev mela tickets and in many other ways.

SPONSORERSHIP FOR ELLE TEAM UNIFORMS IN MUNDALAMA MAHA VIDYALAYA

The Elle team of Puttlam Mundalama Maha Vidyalaya had a long unaddressed need of uniforms which were kindly furnished by
our group members Mahesh Adikari, Sameera Godawita, Sanjaya Nalaka Chandrarathna with financial contribution as a group
charity project

What we did ANNUAL DINNER - "BEST UPCOMING GROUP OF THE YEAR - 2018"

PROJECTs OF THE 2018 Our group achieved a milestone in its brief history by being awarded as the best upcoming group for the year 2018 at the College
Old boys' annual dinner held on the 28th July 2018. our sincere gratitude is expressed to all our members on behalf of the board
of office bearers for contributing in various ways to reach this momentous milestone and Special thanks for Mithila Yatawara,
Mahesh adikari, Sandun Shivantha, Sachinthana Rupasingha, and Nadeeshan Yasas Balasooriya for their participation at the
event by representing the 2007 group.

What we did INTRODUCED NEW DESIGN FOR MAIN OBA IDENTITY CARD

PROJECTs OF THE 2018 The identity card issuing process which was dysfunctional for the last 6 years at the Maliyadeva college Old boys’ association
was revitalized with the appointment of our group member Mithila Yatawara along with a new design this year by the 3rd of
August, more than 400 identity cards which were backlogged for the last 6 years, were issued successfully.

CREATE MALIYADEVA COLLEGE OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION 2007 GROUP
DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A database that consisting of all the information of our group members was successfully created and operationalized by Amila Perera,
Mithila Yatawara, Kanishka Pathirana and Dileepa Premasingha. This database is instrumental for the daily operations of our over group
and they offer the sustainability of the group was entered in this manner along with the capacity to update the details in the database
as and when required.

What we did REGISTERED NEW 50 MEMBERS IN MAIN OBA

PROJECTs OF THE 2018 “Registered new 50 members in main Old Boys’ Association” were the one of different type of fund raising project commenced by
2007 group. Hence 2007 group achieved Huge Milestone in this year and it was successfully completed within The Year. The effort
from Mithila yatawara , Sameera Herath and all the committee members who actively supported to carry out the project should
be appreciated.

SPONSORERSHIP FOR OUR SCHOOL UNDER 13 CRICKET TEAM

The following equipments worth LKRS 60,000 /=which were much needed for the practices of under 13 cricket team, were
furnished with the contribution of our group members Kanishka Rajaguru, Mihan Ayeshana Liyanage, Gihan Thilakarathna,
Imraan Bansajayah, Channa Wijesena, Asela Jayathilaka,Neranjan Kularathna, Mahesh Adikari, Mangala Chathuranga,
Nuwanga Wijesiriwardena, Thusitha kumara, Udayanga watagedara, and Iresh De soyza were handed over to the school
principal and Undr 13 Cricket coach.

What we did NEW GROUP SHIRT FOR 2007 OBA WING

PROJECTs OF THE 2018 The final Project of the Maliyadeva College Old Boys Association 2007 Group is Introduce NEW GROUP SHIRT DESIGN FOR 2007
OBA WING. Our group members Thilina Dissanayaka and Mithila Yatawara completely design the New Group Shirt and
Sameera Herath and Mangala Chathuranga Give Other support for successful this Project.
