Guideline for BSM4901 Industrial training (SEM 2 2022/2023) NOTES: 1. Please read through this guideline and follow the deadlines given to ensure your internship placement goes smoothly. 2. You can contact the potential companies/institutes (by call or email or walk in) to inquire whether they have placement for a 12-week internship for CMB students tentatively starting from March to June 2023. The exact dates will be informed later. 3. Your options for the internship MUST follow criteria that YOU DESIRE (upon UPM regulations) to avoid any “complicated issues” in getting the placement. 4. Please make sure you don’t have any conflicts with the options including no transportation, too far from home, parents don’t allow to, no interest to work in the company/institute, etc… The options that you state in the LI1 form are considered final! 5. Please communicate with me if you have problems or need consultation in regards with the internship application. Date Activities Action Current – 10 October 2022 Find 3 potential companies/institutes for internship (without any conflicts) Students 10 October 2022 or earlier Email softcopy of CV and LI1 form to coordinator @ [email protected]. Students 10 October – 23 October 2022 Check options on placement to ensure that the companies/institutes are suitable for the students. If the options are good, the students will be informed through email. Coordinator 1 November 2022 Submit hardcopy of complete CV and LI1 form to coordinator. Fill in a google form: https://forms.gle/iob7u1fiRNF4pABm9 Students 2 November – 27 November 2022 Compile data. Submit application to company/institute (Option 1) through email, student will be notified in ‘cc’. *IF the application needs to be done through online form, students need to fill in by themselves. Official letters will be prepared by coordinator. *IF the application is rejected, a new application to company/institute (Option 2) will be processed without consulting the students. Thus, make sure the options are finalised and confirmed. Get updates on the internship application (at least after a week of application submission).
