CHLOÉ
It’s the trend of the season so why wouldn’t
denim take a leaf out of the seventies for
spring summer inspiration. Think drummer-
boy jackets, wide legs – ranging from bootcut
to a full-blown flare, mom-from-the-seventies
belted dresses and the perfect denim mini
(preferably buttoned to the high heavens).
Retro inspiration is plentiful on the catwalk,
from Louis Vuitton’s denim ankle and
knee-high boots to Chloé’s ultra-chic and
ultra-French take on the trend. Others
embraced the rock star element, namely
Tommy Hilfiger – a Sgt Pepper catwalk
moment – who splashed patchwork across
boots, jeans and jackets, and opened the show
with descended 70s rock royalty, Georgia
May Jagger. It’s only natural to look to those
who made it so effortlessly cool the first time
around to bring this trend full circle.
