Welcome to the first edition of communication for Old Boys of Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Once we had Berita Star-
oba that has served us all so brilliantly. It is not gone, just transformed into this new format which we choose to call
“SchoolTies”.
Yes, the name does have double meaning, but both are equally suitable. “Ties” as in those pieces of cloth we encircle our
neck to make ourselves look more distinguished, or otherwise, as highlighted in the article by Atan. “Ties” also mean the con-
nection we have, which we cultivated during school and continue as we go through life’s ups and downs. This is the spirit that
we wish to nurture through this magazine.
