MHA BOARD 1 What a fun and exciting season for the Varsity team!
FUNDRAISING/THANK YOU 2-3 They finished 19-4 (best ever) and made it to the
Division 1 semi-finals where they lost to Suffern, the
THE COACHES 4-5 #1 ranked team in NYS. We also witnessed more Pac
VARSITY TEAM 6-7 hockey history as TJ and Brian broke school scoring
SENIORS 8-13 records. The team’s success generated a lot of buzz
JUNIORS 14-15 and inordinate support from the “Maniacs” as well
SOPHOMORES 16-17 as school officials. It was great to see the hockey
FRESHMEN 18-19 program in the “spotlight.”

SCHENECTADY TRIP 32-33 the season didn’t go as well as hoped. Unfortunately,
CANDIDS 34-35 bad weather combined with two school districts

MHS SUPPORTERS 54-88 had fun.
MHA continues to do great things in support of the
program and student-athletes.The Bake Sale and Car
Wash fundraisers continue to do well and provide
for great team bonding. We again participated in
Back-to-School night at MHS and co-hosted another
successful Hockey Fights Cancer Night with Carmel
HS. This season we sent the Varsity team on the road
to Schenectady for a couple of games and were
again able to present our graduating seniors with
a financial scholarship. These are just some of the
many great things in support and recognition of
the program. Much thanks to the MHA Board and
parent volunteers for their support in making this
all happen. However, we do need more parents to
get involved to build on our success and further our
mission of making this program a fun and rewarding
experience for current and future players.
Thank you all and enjoy this keepsake journal. Be
sure to visit our sponsors and let them know you
appreciate their support of Mahopac Ice Hockey.
Congratulations seniors!
We wish you much in your future endeavors.

Varsity Head Coach Tim Donaghy
I wanted to start off by thanking the Mahopac “hockey family” and the whole Mahopac community for the wonderful support and
enthusiasm this season. It is a direct reflection of the talented players on our team. This group is one that has been easy for
the community and district to get behind. I want to show my appreciation for and applaud the players for their hard work and
commitment during the season. We had a great playoff run and a strong performance versus the section champions. This success
goes along with the many successes of the season, most notably winning the White Plains and Niskayuna tournaments. Our record
of 19-4 was hard fought against a schedule of very talented teams. I am very proud of the effort our team put forth this year.
I would like to wish all of my seniors the best of luck in their future endeavors. This group of Seniors in particular, will be greatly
missed. Their leadership has been amazing and I am proud of the role models they have been for the younger players. Please know
you are always welcome to stop by and visit. You know I am always at the rink! As for the returning players, remember that feeling
after the last game... and use it. We can set and accomplish new goals next season. Know that there are holes left bythe seniors we
will need you to step up to fill. I am confident that you will work hard in the off season and be ready to grow in new experiences.
Thank you to the Mahopac Hockey Association for supporting Coach McGee and myself. Most of all, thank you for supporting the
hockey players. The time and hard work you put in for events like Hockey Fights Cancer Night, the Alumni Game, Chuck a Puck
and the various other fundraising opportunities, does not go unnoticed. We are all very appreciative of yoursacrifices and we know
organizing these events is no easy task. I would like to give a big “Thank you!” to Craig Bricker who does a ton of work for the
coaches and especially the players.
Finally, I would like to mention what a pleasure it has been working with Coach McGee. We have built a friendship over the last
two years that helps contribute to a positive team atmosphere. I know we are both so pleased with the growth we have seen in our
players and look forward to continuing to build the Mahopac hockey program and to celebrating more successes in the season to
come.
RollPac! Tim Donaghy
Assistant Varsity Coach Shaun McGee
After completing my third season as an assistant with the varsity program, I could not be more proud to be associated with such a
great organization. Our season ended prematurely but it was certainly a season full of memories. We kicked off the season winning
the Guy Mathews Thanksgiving Tournament in White Plains, and also won the Niskayuna/Schenectady/Albany Mohawk Tournament
at Union College. We won a total of 19 games this season and are proud to say that we were one of the last four teams standing.
Our season ended with a loss to Suffern, the number one ranked team in New York State, and the effort was evident until time
expired. As it is our goal every year, we will continue to work endlessly towards winning the last game of the season.
I would like to thank Coach Donaghy for all of his tireless and passionate efforts in building our program. His energy and enthusiasm
is contagious. I look forward to building this program with him for years to come. I would also like to thank Coach Woodrow for all
of his help and insight throughout the season and during our playoff run. I would like to thank the Mahopac Hockey Association for
all of their efforts not only during the season but year round. We have an exceptional group of parents who donate so much of their
time to make this program elite. Thank you for organizing events like the car washes and bake sale, Hockey Fights Cancer Night,
Senior Night, the year end dinner and all of the support with this season’s trip to Union College. Our student athletes would not
have had the experience they did playing high school hockey if it wasn’t for you. Thank you to the Mahopac Maniacs for showing
up all season long. Your energy was felt on the bench and on the ice. I will never forget the sectional playoff game at Playland and
watching you celebrate a thrilling win.
Finally, I would like to thank the amazing group of players that made the 2018-19 season so memorable. It is not every season
that you find a group that not only is immensely talented but also works hard and truly cares about one another. In the words of
senior Niko DeCola, “we are a family.” Seniors, I cannot thank you enough for the memories you provided me over the years. Your
leadership, accountability, dedication, character and hard work are pillars used to build a winning program. You have set the bar
high for Indians Hockey for years to come and have provided the underclassmen with a great example. I will truly miss you. Best of
luck to all of you in your future endeavors.

COACHING S TA F F
Modified Head Coach Michael Woodrow
Two years ago, I made the difficult decision to step down from my position with the Mahopac Varsity Hockey program. I felt it
was necessary to spend additional time with my growing family. Although I enjoyed the extra time with my family, it was clear that
something was missing. I did not regret my choice, but I did miss my other family. I was thrilled when I heard that the Modified
position was available. This position would give me the chance to help to develop the Mahopac program, work with the excellent
varsity program, and help to further push Mahopac Hockey forward.
The Mahopac Hockey Family is one that I am quite proud to be a part of. The parents, players, and coaches of past and present
have done a fabulous job of developing a program to be proud of. The Modified program will look to continue this excellence
through growth. While Varsity is often evaluated by wins and losses, the modified program is about building future contributors.
I will stress growth and development, while teaching hockey and leadership lessons.
I look to the future as I step into this position and hope to help PAC continue in developing a premier hockey program. This would
never be possible without the support of the Parent’s Association and their families. I once again thank you for all of the assistance.
As I have said many times, I view Modified as a stepping stone to the future and with that, I would also like to thank Coach Donaghy
and Coach McGee. Their continued effort and support is greatly appreciated.
I believe that when we reflect back at the end of the season, regardless of results, we will always be able to look ourselves in the
eyes and say we left it all out on the ice. Players will grow and learn and most importantly look to the future. They will envision
themselves wearing the Varsity jersey and push towards that moment. I embrace the challenges ahead and sharing all of the joys
that will follow with this wonderful Program.
GO PAC!!!! Sincerely, Michael Woodrow
