IMPLIED

Chai Xiao Ling
SJK(C) Aulong, Taiping

Traveled far away from a place called home
a path that leads to IPGKTHO, where teacher trainees bloom,
Some said, “It’s troublesome!” but some said, “This is our home!”
Resolving all the words implied by our English lecturers’ loom.

Trainees got up early to queue for their breakfast
roti canai, nasi goreng kampung, and teh tarik satu!
After breakfast, we were sure to visit the toilet first
What a relief, I bet you are of them too!

Walking while searching for the place where knowledge divers,
the first day of lecture is none more than adventurous.
Whatever you’re learning make sure you are one of the givers
besides, trying to figure out what’s new in the syllabus.

A site named Balsis is where we practiced our play and drama
scripts were written and memorized despite its length.
“IPTHO kebanggaan kita, keunggulan dibina bersama…”
a song where confidence soared, unity is our strength.

What the lecturers have taught us years ago are now our priceless tools
values that they are trying to imply are now more than a treasure.
Today, I continue my journey from IPGKTHO to a school
from the garden of IPGKTHO, I recalled the words from my lecturers.

A NEW JOURNEY

Sanusha Jaya Raman
IPGKTHO

As the sun rises in the east,
A new chapter begins,
My world starting to be in peace,
As the rainbow form in the mist.

In the mid valley of nowhere,
I found myself in despair,
Trying to run and hide,
Into the darkness of the night.

As life slowly fell into gloominess,
I became emotionless,
Until you came and restore them,
Adding happiness to my bank.

As the sun sets in the west,
I found myself in a dress,
Ready to start the launcher,
In the name of a teacher.

ODE TO THE BIRTH GIVER

Ahmad Muaz Bin Mohd Fadzli
IPGKTHO

Oh mother, the one who accepts my cuddles,
The one who keeps pouring sweat on the floor.
Lifting alone all the chains of hurdles
She stands strong with her will, mightier than Thor.
I can still remember those days when she said;
She ain’t suffering from any pain.
Right now, her hands being held,
And people around her cry in vain.
Now I’m craving for her divine cooks,
The taste of the heavenly soup.
Nights when she will read the storybooks,
I always hope the moments will always loop.
The one who I only rely,
Became one of the archangels in the sky.

ODE TO THE FIRST SNOW

Nur Zahirah Zaman
IPGKTHO

The first snow denies a million feelings,
A sensation that grips the inner self depths,
The falling snowflakes cover sorrow,
Its purity conceals a million broken dreams,
As the fall leaves fade away, the loving heart is reborn.

The first snow also marks the arrival of happiness,
The excitement is visible on the lake's icy surface,
Every human skating the ice with freedom,
The gentle breeze heals the weary faith.

The first snow brings everyone together,
A tight hug to channel love,
The panorama whitens as if allowing comfort,
Where a cup of hot cocoa complements the pure tones.

AN ODE TO THE FETISH

Raihanah Abd Aziz
IPGKTHO

When you cease,
I’ll be at ease,
I shall bestow you a wreath,
To congratulate your death.

You’re such a Macbeth,
Taking each of my breath,
Oh why you’re such a dear,
Making me suffer from fear.

Now everything is clear,
As you are nowhere near,
How I hate to lament,
As if you’re heaven’s sent.

This is my pettish,
Towards someone's fetish.

SERENDIPITY

Nur Aisyah Imani
IPGKTHO

Hello to my best-loved human being,
That one angel with a tranquil heart,
Your presence made me less sobbing,
But to more of contented and thrilling part,

You taught me that happiness is a choice,
Washing away all of my greatest despair,
Gentle words from that melodious voice,
Sooth my heart more than a cold air,

This mile may create a separation effect,
But our love lives beyond the distance,
Because of the bond that we swear to protect,
Unwavering the storm that shows no tolerance,

You are the light sent by god in my darkest maze,
You are the sweetest serendipity in my life phase.

A LAMENT BY THE SEA

Nur Hasanah
IPGKTHO

Lightly I tread on the golden sand,
With my throbbing heart as a sole accompany,
With a weary soul, I succumb to the sparkly land,
So long as our love breaks apart, I lament in agony,

The warmth of the sea soothes my heart,
Softly engulfing my lonely tears,
Easing away all the pain and hurt,
That I’ve carried through the years.

My gaze rests on the sea, raging so deep,
Bringing ashore the memories where our love vow was uncast,
May the waves embrace you, lull your pain to sleep,
But if given the chance, would you forget the past?

You and I can start over,
We can love again, dear.

ATHAZAGORAPHOBIA

Nurhasya Dinie
IPGKTHO

My day one in college, could not hide my nervousness
I am that introvert girl while you’re extrovert person;
Still remember your first joke to crack the quietness;
How you make me feel comfortable in just a second.

Then you came cheering my day and later we are biffle
Smile, cries, laugh and all the things we did together;
Each second are well spent although sometimes we scuffle;
Nothing could block our sweet chit chat and laughter.

But then, our memories hiatus amid the pandemic
Days, months, a year flipped of the calendars;
Scrolling down the gallery full of our videos and pic;
I cannot believe that we are now back to strangers.

Memories fade away, we are forgetting and being forgotten
Do you get athazagoraphobia as time hastened?

UZUMAKI NARUTO

Nurul Syuhada
IPGKTHO

That boy, his life journey inspires me to write,
Grew up without parents, he was alone with one ambition,
His shining blue eyes never lose hope every day and night,
People called him a beast, but all he desired was love and attention.

Years had passed, and he found someone called friends,
The bonds became the key to his heart that was slammed shut
He knew that was the moment all his hatred ends,
Promises were made to fight and protect no matter what.

But sometimes that boy must fall in order to rise and grow,
He need to scrap his knees and elbows to learn better than before,
He vowed that he would a hokage, and to everyone he will show,
That yellow-haired boy, Uzumaki Naruto is not alone anymore.

He once lost everything in his life, but giving up was never an option,
That boy, he is definitely my biggest inspiration.

MY BEST FRIEND

Nur Athirah Mohd. Nor
IPGKTHO

We grew together since we are in childhood,
You treat me just like your own family,
You being yourself always make me feel good,
Encourage me to be honest whenever I tell you a story.

When I feel down, you’re the first person I go to,
You’ll hug me and tell me everything is going to be alright,
Your word is such a magic medicine for me too,
With you by my side, you make my day become bright.

When I’m bored, you take me out to do my favourite thing,
We went to fill our stomach and watching movies,
You always make me laugh by your joking,
By the end of the day, our memories would stay in my diaries.

You promised that we’re best friend before, now and forever,
But now, you’ve changed a lot and our friendship is over.

IF I MAY END THE LOCKDOWN

Teo Woon Chun
SJKC Peay Min, Teluk Ramunia

If I may end the lockdown,
I’d feast on the food that I miss.
I’d have my favourite chicken rice,
And give that blended iced coffee a kiss.

Yum…Yum…Yum…
They must be yummy!

If I may end the lockdown,
I’d travel around the world.
New York, Paris, and Italy,
The Eiffel Tower, Pisa Leaning Tower
And of course the Statue of Liberty.

Wow…Wow…Wow…
They must be spectacular!

If I may end the lockdown,
I’d take off my mask,

gallop in the field and play hide-and-seek
Who knows? I might hide in a cask.
Fun…Fun…Fun…
It must be very thrilling!

If I may end the lockdown,
I’d hug my dearest friends.
I’d cuddle them breathless tight
And tell them friendship never ends.
Muack…Muack…Muack…

I must be very joyous!

Sigh…Sigh…Sigh…
I bet no one had the thought that

All these have been denied
During the pandemic.

Well… I know
I must be an obedient fellow

So I stay at home
Be a couch potato
Sing the lullaby
Play with the shadow
And blank out looking at the sky
Thinking in the house of hollow
With much time to spend
When will the lockdown come to an end?

RISE WHEN WE FALL 40

Teo Woon Chun
SJKC Peay Min, Teluk Ramunia

It’s a hushed night that destitute of vision
Full of depression, desperation, and disconsolation

Hiding myself in the blanket and cry
Blaming myself for not being the apple of others’ eye

Suddenly I begin to realise
Why I need to live in the others’ eye

At times we might collapse in life
But the glory arrives when we arise

Our failure is never fatal
Our success is never final
Even the darkest night will fall
And the sun will still rise
Why don’t we pluck up our courage
When our heads are down
And strive hard in the course of life?

INTROVERT

Sofea Rahim
IPGKTHO

It's not that I hate people,
I just like my own company,
As I can be the real person I am
That the world would ever see.

I like being by myself
Discovering my even and odds,

Knowing myself even better
Trying to shape my scrambled thoughts.

I rarely talk to people about myself
And I surely would like to change that,

As people are often unpredictable
and can't be judged

By the few experiences I've had

DEATHLESS BURIAL

Emir Uzair
SK Kuala Lawas, Sarawak

I’ve neither slow winter to ponder decisions,
Nor breezy spring to confess my desires,

Only but an endless summer that burns millions of dreams.
I can no longer fall

For I have reached the core of the spiral.

I met myself within cold words,
Mine and yours, senseless and sour;
You spoke of equality from the modern west
I cried liveliness of the east, far the best.

A pity, we understood none,
Our war, our salvation but never won.
You and I can no longer be authentic
For we have perverted our distinctness with common doctrines.

Mothers and fathers, killers of dreams;
They worship shadows, talismans and fiends.
Children are prizes as they failed their own schemes,
Licking own boots beneath their scaring gleams.

Walk, dear boy! Away if you will
Talk, dear girl! Reliance shall kill.
They can no longer have fondness,
For they have stripped down the greatest of will.

While the Dutchmen embrace the sun’s heat,
Our mountains are waning and fading by cheats.
I saw the far east pummeled by relentless waves,
Still, they stand mighty no matter legions of misery.

But here we suffer howbeit no fuming nature,
Since men and women are of a greater disaster.

We can no longer grasp a fruitful future,
For we have angered the missus of the foul empire.

I offer you today,
A deathless burial,
Where spirits gave out
And leaders in denial.

LIFE IS SO BEAUTIFUL 42

Nor Hida Ibrahim
IPGKTHO

Life is a journey,
A journey that is uncertain as to it ends.

Life is full of challenges and trials,
But needs to be pursued with perseverance and patience.

Life is also full of beautiful colours,
If we are the ones who play a role in heeding it,

Life becomes more beautiful and happy,
If we respect and love each other.

Life is purity of heart,
There should be no feelings of hatred, resentment and envy,

Life needs to educate the heart with sincerity and purity,
So that the twists and turns of life become more meaningful.

Life is beautifully planned,
And written by Creator,
Keep turning every page,
With prayer and faith…..

Life is so beautiful.

I AM SORRY

Sofea Rahim
IPGKTHO

I am sorry that I have changed
that I don't do things like I used to
for my own good I chose to leave you

I am sorry
that I am now happy with the path and life I have chosen

even if it has to hurt you

I am sorry
that the future we saw together is no longer there,
and the goals and dream we had are no longer achievable

I am sorry
that I am now happy,
happier than when I was with you,
and with the passage of time I eventually healed

COLOURFUL US

Anderson Anak Nopis
SK Long Atip

Look at us,
Coming from places,
North South East West,

Bound to one,
With one dream colour.

We came as plain white,
Leaving sorrows behind,
Outside white but inside black,
There’s no way to return.

Day to day our colours out,
Red Blue Green Yellow,

Even the rainbow scheme can’t count,
Mixing sometimes can be tough,
But not for long.

Five years mixing made our colours vivid,
We blend well and never to be separated,

Sometimes I wonder
Where did my mere plain white go?
Oh yes! You all put colourful stains on it.

My dearies,
Such colourful blessings,
Betting goodbyes is like dropping a black drop
But I hope our paths will bound again,
And paint again colourful us!

THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US

Camilla Goh Cheah Mi
SK Felda Sening

There is a mountain
Tall and imposing
Between you and me.

It is made up of
All the unspoken words

And pent up feelings
We have piled up
Like rocks.

When we speak
Our own words

Echo back
And fade into silence.

We lie in the shadow
Cast by the mountain
Waiting for the sun to rise
And chase the cold away.

If we were brave enough
To make the climb

Would we feel less lonely
Without the mountain
Between us?

I WISH I HAD THAT FEVER AGAIN

Dr. Shaukat Ali
Assistant Professor, Department of English, University of Malakand, Pakistan

I wish I had that fever again
I caught by that golden touch
When my soul was fermenting
And my mind was all afire
Like the furnace of a blacksmith
Heating and melting the iron
To shape it into an immortal bird
Defeating ages and cultures
So I need that fever and fire
By that golden touch again

To create immortal shapes
And be remembered

Long after I am no more

AM I A TEACHER OR AN INFORMER

Mohd Nahar Mohamad Wazir
IPGKTHO

As I wake up every morning..
My mind always makes me confusing...
The question is still the same and similar..
Either am I truly a teacher or just an ordinary informer..

The gap between these are too far..
And we never realise that we are stuck in the jar..
Teachers are those who care about their students’ future..
Informers just give information and never care about their students’ failure...

At the end do we care about our teaching...
Or do we care about the future of our students’ ending...

It's such a very short teaching in our life...
That affect our hopes in afterlife...

DEAR TEACHER

Mohd Nahar Mohamad Wazir
IPGKTHO

Dear Teacher,
I'm once of your students that never pass your exam paper..

And I always think that I'll never have a bright future..
But your patience, your gentle and your kindness make me to be a fighter...

Never give up for my life day after..

Dear Teacher,
Now I'm not a lawyer..
I'm not an engineer..

I'm not a doctor...
But now I'm a successful plumber...
That makes a million ringgit a year..

Dear Teacher,
I'll never forget your teaching forever..
I'll always remember you in my prayer..
You the one who make my life brighter....

THANK YOU, TEACHER…

THE BLUE BIRD TALKS

Muhammad Omar Ilhan Bin Omar
IPGKTHO

I took my pen and a piece of paper
Writing down my thoughts that doesn’t really matter.

Sitting in this cave, thinking and confused.
Praying to God to let me through,

And this bad things in my mind, let it be removed.

suddenly my dark cave got even darker
the torch that light up my place fell off and disappear

so I went outside just to be told to get inside
stay at home they said, stay safe they shouted.

So I stared at the sky from inside this cave
When a bird showed up and its’ color is blue

Suddenly it talks and I was shocked
How could a bird talk and why is it talking to me?

I've flown across the world and I am here to tell you human some news,
The dark day of your people has come and it is not ending soon.
The Red Dragon is now sick, poisoned by the food she ate,

The Sleeping Giant is now awake proving what Napoleon once said,
protecting The Middle Kingdom at all cost, before it is all too late.
The White House is shaking and Donald seems he doesn’t even care,

There I saw zombies not hunting for brains but tissues that roll,
They are dumb, selfish, arrogant and cold,

No wonder they are dying and the numbers are on the roll.

Humans are selfish, humans are arrogant, humans are cold
but I hope this what you called cursed is actually a blessing
from the almighty God that knows everything, and with that the bird finished talking

and just before I wanted to ask him something ,
he flies away left me wondering.

AN AMOK IN SILENCE

Noraini Abd Samad
SMK Sura, Dungun, Terengganu

Amidst a morning calm
There's a calamity
A heart weeps
Screams too

For it has to be in mute
The words it pours has to be voiceless.

She claws the gag they put on her
Embroidered with delicate flowers

The cloth feels like a knife
Slowly carving her lips
Forcing it to form a smile

Desperate for release
She runs

To the beach, hoping the waves will soothe her
To the woods, hoping the rustles will lull her
To the river, hoping the burbles will comfort her

All to no avail

Seconds pass,
The screams in her heart grow louder

The weeps turn into wails
The crackle of sadness has now turned into an amok of flames

Engulfing her every being

Dews can no longer water such heat
From a silenced heart
Which has run amok

Whilst trapped within a wall
Bursting at the veins with emotions

She needs more than dews
She needs a fountain of love

She needs a lake of care
She needs a waterfall of empathy
She needs those monsters to take off her gag

What a cruelty
Imposing a heart
Forcing it to run amok in silence

UNSAID

Aina Syafiqa
IPGKTHO

The souls desired it like this:
Awake before the dawn with fresh morning breeze,

idly arranging steps with alarms going off,
filling the building.

A queue of half-awake beings
regretting to not iron the outfits beforehand.

Walking, chattering today’s schedule
with sounds of the heels hitting the ground.

Leisuring outdoor activities
while knowing each other’s backgrounds,
and bright orange sky as the que to end.
Chasing the due date, burning the midnight oil
accompanied by the strong scent of cup noodles.

22 silhouettes listening to the lecture
in a cherished room, with laughter from time to time.

Forming circle, discussing the given task
with sudden adds of inside jokes.

Each heart admiring every precious moment.

but the physiques face it like this:
Classes start with sitting at the study table
after reaching for a different hijab from the past 3 days.

Finger stroking the touchpad,
cursor clicking today’s meeting link.
Microphone button as the way to interact
but sometime interfering caused by forgotten action.
Knocked room as the sign to consume daily meal
as the eyes have been burning from the brightness.
The introverts getting much more silence, the extroverts seem lost
like a student with special needs, social development stunted.
Our room is our class, our room is our dorm.
Our room is where we interact, our room is where we determined.
Each heart missing to experience the moments.

Why does it seems like we are drifting away?
when the word ‘goodbye’ maintains unsaid.

DARKNESS SYNDROME

Nik Ahmad Amjad Nik Ahmad Suffian
IPGKTHO

I did not believed darkness can shine,
Without lights darkness be seen as terrified,
Since childhood, my biggest fear is darkness,

Am I a coward?

Now everything messes up,
Sleepless nights,
Not a single noise,

Everything I see is darkness.

All be fine in the morning,
No wonder God created that darkness cannot extinguish darkness,

Lit up your own light,
Even the moon is nothing without a light.

A BETTER ME TOMORROW

Nur Ain Masturah Zambri
IPGKTHO

The clock is ticking,
The hours are going by unknowingly,
The future seemed so far and blank,
Making me wonder what has been fated for me.

Some still wondering some still on their way,
Leaving me alone,

With no idea where I supposed to be,
Once I crossed mountains and sea,

A dot of light seem like a new ray to me,
Making me pray for a brighter light,

What seemed forever was just a moment,
I can finally feel the light,

That was shining in the dark of night.

This time I’m not going to let you slip away,
This time I’m not going to let another day go by,

I was lost but you found me,
Wake me up from my worst enemy,
It gives me chances to begin a better life,
It gives me hope to grab my dreams,

What a beautiful new tomorrow.

THE ALTERNATIVE PLAN

Dr. Kee Li Li
Institute of Teacher Education Ipoh Campus, Malaysia

I have a teacher of whom I adore,
With all my heart and soul,

And if I were to make a wish or more,
Always, grant him health, wealth and happiness as a whole.

First time meeting my teacher,
I explain the research procedure,
Right away, the study becomes clear,

It is of quantitative in nature.

My teacher could not be the Main SV,
And my heart suddenly turns sorrowful,

In fact I want to disagree,
But he is having his plate full.

Recommended two for the Committee,
One as Chair, another as Co,

And my teacher too, is at vicinity,
Thus, the team is formed at one go.

Guided by my dedicated Advisor,
And supervised by the TESL clan,

All things seem to be wiser,
In aligned with the alternative plan.

As now I can see the difference,
And I am smiling almost at everyone,
Comprehensive examination and ethical clearance,
Proposal defense and revisions done.

All sorrows vanished I ensure,
When tasks are accomplished, bit by bit,
Offer me another alternative plan, my teacher may be sure,

I will never refuse it!

HEART

Sabrina Ibrahim
IPGKTHO

There’s a thing of mine
Disappeared without any sign

Trying to recall my mind
But still no idea where to find

The red colour always fit in
But not the same as in the crime scene

Cannot be touched neither be seen
Can be cool, can be mean

I keep on searching
Everywhere that I think it is going

I keep on trying
Doing my best in everything

I finally found it in a bad matter
And it is getting darker without any filter

I have to find way to make it better
And that is my heart for our Creator

FAMILY

Madhuri Rajan
IPGKTHO

Family comes together
During ups and downs

Joy and sorrow
Tears and fears
For decades and years

Family stands together
For now and forever
Giving love and care
Through years we grow
No tears will flow

And we all know

Family stays together
No matter what happens
Even if your days darken

PRECIOUS 56

Asma’ Zulkifli
IPGKTHO

I remembered
The day we were at the village
Seeing the faces of our grandparents

That is far from being aged
And the smiles that never fades

I remembered
The smell of the home-cooked dishes
From the pot of full amount of soup
I could tell that they were delicious

Made by the hard workers cope

I remembered
The resemblance from my father
Is a lot of like my grandfather?

Then I took a glance at them
And wonder if the future welcomes them

Then I realised
The source of love
My source of happiness
Will never last long
They are my only precious memories.

MEANINGLESS

Nurin Nadhirah Hairulaswan
IPGKTHO

Don't you ever admire the kindness of the clouds,
Shading you only for a moment at first,
Then marched away to present the rain,
That will never dry the voice of the wail.

Teach me the patience of the sun,
As if he were silent and sick,

When the moon liberates every twilight,
Beautify the dark in the celestial sky,
Until the dawn then he came to rise.

Apologizing is a no in their eyes,
Maybe it is better if I don’t,

Tears never worth any sympathies,
And scars can’t beg a human soul,
Or is my existence displeasing their goals?

THE LONELY AND SAD CHAIN

Balkkis Abdul Aziz
IPGKTHO

Which chain is that? Maybe I know.
Its owner is quite sad though.
It looks as it is a tale of woe,

I saw her so down. I try to follow.

She gives her chain a shake,
And sobs until the tears make.
The only other music that break,
Is the distant waves and birds awake.

The chain is lonely, sad and creep,
But she has something to keep,

for what make her couldn’t sleep.
She lies in bed with tears that weep.

She woke up from her bitter bed,
With sadness and sorrow in her head,

She synically acted as been dead.
Facing the coming days with never ending dread.

NOW

Hasya Tasnim
IPGKTHO

When did the time flies?
From the moment we’re playing hide-and-seek,

And throwing marbles,
To now.

When did we grow?
From “Little Fockers”,
There was a lot of things we didn’t know,

To now.

Can you get the reminiscence of the day,
When we unintentionally decided to never play again,

Our childhood was dumped away,
To now.

When did we get taller?
Our dreams keep diminishing,
So the moment of life that we need to treasure,

Is now.

MY HONEY BUNNY

Balkkis Abdul Aziz
IPGKTHO

You are like air
Which I need all the time
For a moment you are gone
Shortness of breath by taste

You're like a raindrop
That wets the arid earth
Even if you're cold to the bone
Still your grin that cools my anger

Be my sun
I need your light
You can warm it
My day is beautiful

The night is approaching
Be a bright moon

Fuel is my nightmare
Let it be as beautiful as the twinkling dawn

But friend
I beg you not to change your appearance

Being a hurricane that brings disaster
Until all love and faithfulness
Crashing like a raging storm

The whispers of the wind
Swinging me with the melody
Melting the heart, with silent song
Along the melancholic rythm

Keeping you close to my heart
Cherish Forever

Till the end of my breath
You will always be my honey bunny

(Dedicated to my dearest friend)

WHERE THE TRUTH LIES

Hjh Faziah Abd Karim
IPGKTHO

I dreamt I was Picasso working on a masterpiece.
I dreamt I had the hands of Micheal Angelo.

Painting on the ceiling with colors of silver and gold
Trying to reminisce the era of renaissance
With its pomp and glamour.

I wonder whether I can depict this image
So tantalizing yet so clear

What is this image trying to tease?
A heat so rugged, full of uncaring schemes ... devastating

and evil mingled with the softness of the angles.

This feeling…so vague but it tends to hang on the verge of madness.
Testing the psychic of a homo sapien.

Where only the Philosophical could understand
The meaning intangible and metaphysical.

I woke up from this dream….the message so clear and tense
It enhances my spirit to rest and ponder
What is this life…so ambiguous?
I cannot get the answer until God decides
To tell…..the truth

Verily I hope Midas is here to touch all...
These absurdities into gold.

FOR MY PLEASANT BUTTERFLY

Nazariah Hussein
IPGKTHO

Roses are red,
Violet are blue,
A thing is pleasant,
And so you are.

Orchids are white,
Ghost ones are rare,
My light is shine,
And so is your hair.

Magnolia grows,
With buds like eggs,
A present is wings,
And so are your legs.

Sunflower reach,
Up to the skies,
Sunlight is dazzling,
And so are your eyes.

Foxgloves in hedges,
Surround the farms,

The spot is bald,
And so are your arms.

Daisies are pretty,
Daffies have style,
Brightness is dazzling,
And so is your smile.

Butterfly is beautiful,
Just like You.

NATURE'S REMEDY

Vijayan Periasamy
IPGKTHO

The definitive remedy in the world,
The cheapest and the best,

Keep the pills and tablets aside,
And try out this test,

Take a walk and fill your lungs
With air that's fresh and clean
In places where there are patches of green.

When you feel run down,
And out of tune with just about everyone,

Go thou out in the open
In the rain or in the sun.
Breath deeply, thankfully
The air that blows from heaven
It's Mother Nature's medicine.
It's wonderful, free and surely pleasant!

IF I MAY LET YOU GO, COVID-19

Dr. Yee Bee Choo
IPGKTHO

Looking at the free birds flying in the sky,
Listening to the ducks quacking in the pond,
Smelling the fragrance of the flowers in the park,
Feeling the air running on our faces on the beach.

If I may let you go,
I hope you will never come again.

Those were the moments I enjoyed,
Before you enter my life suddenly,
Without reasons and information,
You have changed my life completely,

If I may let you go,
I pray you will never come back.

I am like a caged bird now,
My wings are spreading far and wide,
But made powerless by the four walls,

You stop me from flying high.
If I may let you go,

I wish you are never here before.

I’m meeting people without face to face,
Browsing through the Facebook in the virtual world,

But I become faceless in everything,
You come without showing your face,

If I may let you go,
I pray not to see you face to face.

I’m living in the new normal,
With Standard Operation Standard enforced,

Mask has become my close friend,
You make me rely on him every day,

If I may let you go,
I urge you to go with him.

I’m devoured in solitude,
Keeping social distance with people,
Unsocialising with friends and associates,
You stop me from having friendship,

If I may let you go,
I want to keep a distance from you.

I’m lost without contact,
Connected and disconnected in quarantine,

Close contact become contactless,
You bring isolation to my life,
If I may let you go,
I swear to divorce you.

Shhh, my grandmother is sleeping,
She says she hears my grandfather calling,

Her eyes are looking into the darkness,
You want to bring away my grandmother,

If I may let you go,
I urge you not to bring her along.

I’m living in a frightening state,
Fear and panic walk into me,

I might enter the valley of Death one day,
You bring him so close to me,
If I may let you go,

I desire that you are the one who go with him.

I couldn’t see you clearly,
You’re sitting everywhere,

You’re unreachable,
Yet you’re so close to me.

If I may let you go,
I pray I will never see you.

I have many reasons to know you,
If reasons are as plenty as the seashells on the beach,

I would give you no reason,
To walk into my life,
If I may let you go,

I’m very willing to let you go.

I am sunk in low.
With what compulsion and laborious flight

You are an evil,
Forcing me to accept the unacceptable,

If I may let you go,
I will not accept you again.

If I may let you go,
I wish to make a wish,
If I may make a wish,
I wish you have never come.
If I make a wish comes true,
I wish I will never see you!
