GENESIS

LEADERSHIP ISSUES

gg2: Male and Female

GENESIS 1 :27

Importantly, maleness an<l femalenes, preceded the mtroducnon of sm 111
the worl<l. The <l1nne Crt'ator son-reignly defined our gender even as He
formed us in the ,,·omb (P,. 139:13). With our gender also came our sex
uality with potennal for ble,,ing or pam.
As He has in ocher areas of hfc, our creator God has defined within Scrip
ture the boundaries for sexual expression. As with our words, thoughts,
and attitudes, a good God ha, given us guidance that we might avoid pain
and multiply blessmg. He loves us and cares for us as His children. Sexual
ity is God's gift that calls for stewardship and accountability, not misuse,
abuse, or defrauding. God calls us to place our sexuality under the lord
ship ofChmt to maintain its purity and divine purpose (I Cor. 6:11-20).
Pause to consider chat your body 1s the "temple of the Holy Spirit": ask
God to teach you all that this means, and pray for His Spirit to protect
and empower you to be faithful to Hun.
