Scott and Nancy Johnson have been members of the club since March
of 2001. They initially joined Ridglea for golf, but since then they have
become avid fitness enthusiast. Nancy has always done some form of
fitness all her life from playing sports in school and then continuing as
an adult playing racquet ball, tennis and running in 5k and 10k races.
In her 60s she won 1st place in several 5ks for her age group. She feels
working out is an important part of her day. Nancy personally trained
with Amy Luskey and Brian Westendorf and said they’re wonderful to work with and extremely
knowledgeable.
David is an inspiration, because he has not let Parkinson's slow him down. He attends a weekly
boxing class, and in the last year had surgery and has found walking on our indoor track is the
best form of exercise to help with his rehabilitation. He is working very hard to get back to his
passion playing golf with his buddies Tom, Jim, Russ, and Gordon, but in the meantime, he still
walks 9 holes and putts on the green with the guys. The Johnsons spoke patiently about the
Charity Event, POP Punch Out Parkinson’s in June for Parkinson Disease, hosted at Ridglea
Country Club.
The Johnsons are true ambassadors to our fitness center because they are a positive inspiration
to everyone they meet. It’s inspiring to hear them encouraging others to try out new things in
the fitness center. They want our members to know our fitness center is a warm and welcoming
environment for everyone, and they feel we are fortunate to have such incredible trainers,
instructors and fitness staff to help us on our fitness journeys.
