Dear Colleagues,

As we embrace this New Year, it will bring us new opportuni-
ties, challenges, resolution and change, which is essential for
our overall growth.

It has been a fulfilling year with remarkable accomplishments
and numerous plans on the pipeline raring to take off at the
opportune time. Every situation has been a learning experi-
ence which has helped raise the bar in all spaces that we has
set foot on.

This would have not been possible without everyone efforts
and dedicated team. 2019 year will begin a new chapter in the
life of Epsilon Carbon. Our goal should be to produce quality
products with accessible customer support. To accomplish this
goal we would be working on our new strategy plan. 2019 is
going to be a challenging year for our team as we put our
footsteps in the whole new world of technology and products.

I take a great pleasure in announcing that we will be launching
a new identity of Epsilon carbon with website. The new website
has been revamped with end user experience in mind.
I continue to look forward for your all great support.
My heartfelt wishes to you and your family for a happy, healthy
and safe new year 2019.

Dear Colleagues,

Year 2018 has been quite fruitful wherein Epsilon Carbon
stabilized operations achieving set targets. Today, we are
serving more than 40 customers not only in India but also
abroad, marking our global presence. We are now manufactur-
ing superior quality products. With this strong base, we are
now aiming to further implement best practices, simplify
business processes and increase productivity.

Epsilon on the way to achieve leading status in the field of coal
tar chemicals in India. Our strength of continuous improve-
ment with ethical work practices is bound to bring the Compa-
ny accolades from time to time.As we continue to capitalize
the market in coal tar segment, we are now set up to enter into
carbon Black segment with our 115000 TPA Carbon Black
project Phase I.

I, thank each and every one of you for your hard work, pas-
sion, and the part you have played in making 2018 a remark-
able year. Epsilon intends to earn the respect and confidence
of families and society, by creating workplace where all team
members can work safely and actively.

Looking forward for continued support of each team mate as,
together, we take Epsilon into 2019.

Increase in production capacity & TFH Unit 2 Inauguration

Vijaynagar plant witnessed a great shift of momentum in past 6 months in terms of team
work, quality, production and profit.The plant production capacity was geared up after
successful completion of debottlenecking in the month of October 2018; this project was
completed within the scheduled time. As a result the processing capacity has ramped up
to 525 MT/ day. The naphthalene production has increased to 60MT/ Day.
Liquid pitch storagesystem was completed and tested.The implementation of IMS and ISO
system is in completion stage and certification is expected in December2018.2nd TFH
Unit was commissioned by Mr. G. Rajendran and Mr. Ramchandra Kulkarni on 20th
June’18. It’s located between Cooling Tower & Boiler Area.

New canteen

As we are growing in numbers hence need for bigger space in
canteen area began to emerge so management took a call to
extend and renovate existing space.

This time we provided facility for in-house cooking with modern
kitchen and new tables were setup. The New Canteen was
inaugurated by Mr. D C Jagdeesh-Jt. Director of Factories &
Boilers on 31st July 2018.

Independence Day Celebration:

As India celebrated its 72nd Independence Day on 15th August.
We at Epsilon Carbon Vijayanagar to commemorate the
independence of India from the Kingdom of Great Britain.
The day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by
Epsilon Family, who come together to pay homage to the free-
dom fighters and legends who valiantly fought for the country.
Our Director & CEO Mr. Mohinder Kumar Singhania hoisted the
tri colour flags ,all came together and sang the national anthem
and entertainment programs-dance by children, Partortic Song
by ladies, prize distribution and ended the program with tree
plantation.

Dussehra Celebration at Sunrise Valley Township

Dussehra is one of the major festival in India. Dussehra is observed for different reasons
and celebrated differently in various parts of India. Dussehra is celebrated for victory of
good over evil. We called out for traditional day. Snacks were doled out.
Evening was filled with fun & thrilled. There weregames for young and old.

Volleyball Match at Sunrise Valley township on 11th October

Outdoor sports increases physical fitness and bring active lifestyle in one’s life. Volleyball in one
of the most played & loved game in the world. It’s also a great way to stay involved in social
activities, involvement in volleyball also improves our motivation and ability to succeed.
We had organised for one day volleyball match at sunrise township.

“Beat the plastic & plant sapling.”

A total of 45 sapling were planted.

A Public speaking training programme was held on
23rd June at Mumbai

1-day workshop that was designed to help each one of us to
become experts in ‘Presenting Yourself Positively’ & also to
make ‘High Impact Presentations’.
The Workshop helped in focusing and clarifying our message
so we could connect with the audience and make a lasting
impact. We learnt confidence and style while commanding a
room and delivering an influential presentation.

Presentation at 7th International IBAAS
conference and exhibition

IBAAS provide platform for aluminium industry professionals to
interact and work together with common goals for development.
They organise annual and bi-annual workshop, seminar and
conferences in association with primary aluminium producers
and/or R&D centres, promote latest technology and advertise
products and equipment.
Mr. Vikram Handa presented subject related to Global & Domestic
Scenario for Coal Tar Pitch & Mr. Mohinder Kumar Singhania did
introduction of our company. We also became platinum sponsor
for IBAAS.

Presentation by Mr. Mohinder Kumar Singhania at
International Tar Association conference, San Francisco, USA

This year we received an opportunity to present Epsilon Carbon at
international platform. This became possible through ITA conference
held at San Francisco, USA on 17th September; where organisations
representative from around the world come together in this 3 days
conference to understand the scope, new technology, etc for Coal
tar industry. Mr. Mohinder Kumar Singhania spoke about Indian
industry outlook on coal tar & downstream products.

Majority of India still lives in villages and
so the topic of rural education in India is
of utmost importance. Quality and access
to education is the major problem in
village as there are fewer committed
teachers, lack of proper text books and
learning material in the schools. Though
Government schools exist, but when
compared to private schools then quality
is a major issue. Hence this is year we
took multiple CSR projects to facilitate
better means of education to children
around us.

Promoting Education & Arts in School:

ECPL received requests from Govt. Higher Primary School, Kodal village
& Govt. Lower Primary School, Sultanpur village to sponsor for an Arts &
Painting teacher. Epsilon Carbon took initiative to sponsor 1 teacher in
each school by paying remuneration of teacher till Dec’18.

Renovation of school Class Rooms at Govt. Lower
Primary School

ECPL took an initiative to renovate 2 class rooms of Govt Lower Primary
school, Sultanpur village, which had developed structural damage.
On 26th July 2018 School organised for inauguration function supported
by the renovated 2 class room building at Govt. Lower Primary School of
Sultanpur was officially handed over by ECPL in the function organised by
the school authorities in the presence of the guests like –Mr. I.R. Aki–BEO,
Sandur. Mr. B.R.C. Umapatti–Asst. BEO, Sandur, Mr. TainSingh
Naik–TalukaFood Director, Mrs. Mallamma–Member Gram Panchyat,
Mr. E Basaveraj –School Development Officer Sultanpur & many more.

Distribution of stationery materials in various schools on
26th & 30th July, 2018.

Government controlled schools in villages rarely have sufficient
budget to buy books, bags and other stationery especially as number
of students have increased. Although some schools have access to
books but it’s never sufficient. We took this small step to help various
governments’ school by supplying note books, writing pads & bags to
their students. We provided stationery to 332 students of Govt. Higher
Primary School, Kodalu village.

Supply of Water to Kodalu Village:

Rural areas are mostly dependent on local sources for water which is
often inadequate in quantity and doubtful in quality.
Kodalu village was facing severe shortage of water.
The villagers approached Epsilon Carbon seeking support to resolve
the issue of water scarcity. Epsilon Carbon committed to supply
water from 20th August 2018 at a monthly expense of Rs.43,000/ to
the village and will continued to do so till the end of March 2019.

strength. Together as a team we can face any
challenge. This year we had the same situation.
21st July heavy rain demolished the connectivity
bridge, making crossing over difficult for everyone.
our team handled the situation wisely and took a
decision to renovate the connectivity under the
guidance of Plant Head. Within few days the road
was developed.

Mr. Madhav Kale participated in 20th Karnataka state
Masters Swimming Championship

Held at Bangalore and bagged 01 Gold, 03 Silver & 01 Bronze medals.
He is also selected in Karnataka State Team for the National Championship
which was held at Vishkhapatnam in Oct 2018.

Rugged Sahyadri Adventure Monsoon Trail ace

Felicitation by Mr. Gopal Hosur (Rtd IPS)Inspector General Karnatka Police
On 5th Aug 18 Mr. & Mrs. Kale participated for participated for Rugged
Sahyadri Adventure Monsoon Trail ace and achieved first position in their
respective age groups. Trail was set for 50KM (male) & 21KM (female).
This race was held at Panhala fort in Kolhapur dist and the race theme was
based on historical event in the victory of the great king Shivaji.
