February also saw the start of our Quilting 101

as well as several hours of sewing.
Next came February and a much anticipated program
presented by four members of our guild and orchestrated by
Carol Hagadorn. Carole English, Pam Winburg, Gretchen
Haddock and Christine Twiss each shared a specific talent
used in quilting. All guild members attending left with a
better understanding of stencils, appliqué, machine quilting
and flying geese.
In addition, several new programs for the Guild year
were introduced.
Karen Williams and Roxanne White presented the
members with the “Challenge of the Year” which came with
a fat quarter of fabric that will be included in everyone’s
project. A BOM (Block of the Month) program was also
introduced and explained. The first two of twelve block pat-
terns were handed out along with rules for the project. Both
challenges will help produce quilting projects to be shown
at our quilt show next October.
The monthly Sew&Sew will continue on the third
Tuesday of the month. In March it will be held at the Vil-
lage Station. If you are interested in seeing what wonderful
talent your neighbors possess, drop by between 9:00 a.m.
and 2:00 p.m. to witness art in the making.
