User Manual for TNEA 2017 Online Registration

STEP 1 (a). To go to the TNEA 2017 website, type the URL https://www.tnea.ac.in in the browser .You will come to the landing page as
shown below.

STEP 1(b). To go to the TNEA 2017 website, either type URL https://www.tnea.ac.in in the browser (or) Go to the Anna University
Website (http://www.annauniv.edu/) and click TNEA-2017.

STEP 2: The home page of the TNEA 2017 webpage is displayed as below.

STEP 3: Candidates can download any of the four details shown in rectangular boxes namely “Instruction to Candidates”, “Eligibility
Details”, “Certificate Details” and “Enclosure Details”, just by hovering over the mouse on the respective boxes and clicking the
download button in the corresponding icons.

 To download the Instruction to Candidates, just hover
over the mouse pointer on the “Download Instructions to
the Candidates” and click “DOWNLOAD”.

 When you click on the “DOWNLOAD”, button the
Information and instructions to the candidate’s
document will open.

 To download the Eligibility Details, just hover over the
mouse pointer on the “Download Eligibility Details” and
click “DOWNLOAD”. When you click on the
“DOWNLOAD”, button the Eligibility rules for Indian
nationals will open.

 To download the Certificate Details, just hover over the
mouse pointer on the “Download Certificate Details” and
click “DOWNLOAD”.

 When click on “DOWNLOAD”, Certificate Details screen
will open.

 To download the Enclosures Details, just hover over the
mouse pointer on the “Download Enclosures Details” and
click “DOWNLOAD”.

 When click on “DOWNLOAD”, document for the
enclosures to be sent with the online application will
open.

STEP 4 (a): To fill the application form; select the “ONLINE APPLICATION” on home page.

When you have clicked on the “ONLINE APPLICATION”, the following page will open as shown in the screenshot below.
Read the guidelines for registration and filling of online application and click “Next” button.

When you have clicked on the “Next” button, the steps to be followed by the candidate to fill the online application will be displayed as
shown in the screenshot below.

Read the steps to be followed for filling the online application carefully and then click “Proceed” button. Incase, you want to navigate to
the previous page click the “Previous” button.

When you have clicked on the “Proceed” button, the Login page will open as shown in the screenshot below.

If you are an already registered candidate, then login with your registered Email, Password and 5 digits Verification code displayed near
Verify Code. If you type the verification code wrongly, then click the refresh button.

If you are a new applicant, then click “New User Registration” Button. The following page will open for new user registration as shown in
the screenshot below.

Fill the mandatory fields for registration as follows,

 Name: Name of the Applicant (*Exactly in the same way as it has been given in 10th standard Marksheet)
 Date of Birth: Applicant's Date of Birth (*should be entered as given in the School Certificates).
 Gender: Choose gender.
 Mobile number: Provide your valid & functional Mobile Number (*use a valid mobile number for registration of the online

application. This mobile number must be maintained active, as the communications to the candidates from TNEA
2017 will be sent only to the registered mobile number)
 12th Registration Number: Enter your 12th standard Registration Number and year of passing correctly as it will be used
subsequently.
 Email: Enter your functional Email Id (*use a valid e-mail id for registration of the online application. This email id must
be maintained active, as the communications to the candidates from TNEA 2017 will be sent only to the registered
email id)
 Password: Enter the Password. (*The strength of your password is shown as Strong, Good or Weak. It is better you choose a
strong password)
 Confirm Password: Again type the same password.
 One Time Password (OTP): Enter the OTP number received on your mobile phone.

After filling of all the fields click “Register” button.
NOTE: Kindly note down your Email Id and Password for future use. (*Keep your password safely)

After successful registration, a validation box will pop up as shown below. It shows that your profile is created successfully. If it is ok,
then click “OK” button.

When you have clicked on the “OK” button, then the login screen will open as shown in the screenshot below.

Then, enter your registered Email ID, Password and the verification code given. Now, Click “Login” button.

STEP 4 (b): Incase the applicant has forgot the password, click on “Forgot Password”. The following screen will be displayed and
you have to enter the registered Email ID, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and Verification Code. Then click on “Submit”
button.

When you have clicked on the “Submit” button the following page will open to reset your new password.

Now enter your new password and confirm the same new password then click on “Submit” button. After changing the password
successfully a dialogue box will open up as shown below, Click “OK” button.

STEP 5: Now, go to the Login page and login using the Registered Email Id, Password and Verification Code. Then click “Login”.

STEP 6 : Fill all your personal details in the corresponding fields shown in the application Form.

You are advised to fill the form following Ascending order without jumping. For example, Fill 1,2,3 and so on.

1. Name:
 Applicant's Name. (It is retrieved from your Registration
form).

2. Name of the Parent / Guardian:
i. Enter Applicant's Father/Mother Name.
(or)
ii. Enter Guardian's Name, if both the parents are not alive.

3. Address for Communication:
Enter the Applicant's Valid Address.
State: Select your state from the drop down
menu.
District: Enter the District from the drop down
menu.
Pincode: Enter your pincode

4. Email:
 Applicant’s Valid & functional Email ID. (It is retrieved
from your Registration form).

5. Mobile:
 Applicant’s Valid & functional Mobile Number. (It is
retrieved from your Registration form).

6. Date of Birth: Retrieved from Registration.
7. Gender: Retrieved from Registration.
8. Nationality:

 Choose "Indian" if the Applicant belongs is an Indian national
from the drop down menu. (or)

 Choose "Srilankan Tamil Refugee" If the Candidate is Srilankan
Tamil Refugee from the drop down menu.

9. Nativity:
 Choose "Tamil Nadu" if the Applicant belongs to Tamil Nadu
Native from the drop down menu.
 If the Tamil Nadu Native candidates who have not studied any
one of VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard in Tamil Nadu, want to
claim "Tamil Nadu" then don’t forget to enclose a photo copy of
Nativity Certificate obtained from Tamil Nadu from the drop
down menu.
 Choose "Other State" If the Applicant is not belongs to Tamil
Nadu from the drop down menu.
 Others option will enabled when the Applicant selects Srilankan
Tamil Refugee from the drop down menu.

10. Religion: Select your Religion from the drop down menu.
11. Community: Select your Community from the drop down menu.
12. Name of the Community: Select your Community
as given in the Community Certificate from the drop down menu.
(Enclose a photocopy of the Permanent Community
Certificate/electronic form digitally signed e-certificate. Tamil Nadu
native candidates alone will be considered for communal reservation)
13. Code No. of Community: It gets filled automatically if you choose
the correct community.
14. Special Reservation(s) to be considered:

 If you claim for any of the special reservation tick the
corresponding check box.

 If you want to claim two special reservations tick both of
them.

If you are not claiming any special reservation then tick "Not
Applicable" check box.
15. Eminent Sports Person: If you are an eminent sports person
choose the radio button “yes” or choose the radio button “No.

16. Details of First graduate in family:

a) If you are the first graduate in your family and going
to study in a college then choose the radio button
"Yes".

b) If your Brother/Sister has already availed First
Graduate Tuition Fee concession for studying
professional course, then choose the radio button
"Yes".

17. AICTE Tuition Fee Wavier Scheme:

 If you are willing to avail All India Council for
Technical Educational Tuition Fee Wavier (AICTE TFW)
Scheme, then choose the radio button "Yes".

18. Eligibility for Post Matric Scholarship

 If you are eligible for (SC/SCA/ST including converts
to Christianity) Post Matric Scholarship, then choose
the radio button "Yes"

19. Annual Income of Parents: Select Annual Income of
Applicant's Parents from the drop down menu.

For example, if the Parents annual income is
`1,50,000/- then, select 1,00,001 - 2,00,000 from the drop down
menu.

20. Medium of Instruction: Choose your medium of instruction
from the given radio buttons.

For example, Select "Tamil" radio button if you are studied in
Tamil Medium.

21. Mother Tongue: Select your Mother Tongue from the drop
down menu.

For example, If your Mother tongue is Tamil then select "Tamil"
from the drop down menu.

22. Occupation of Parent/Guardian: Select Occupation of the
Parent/Guardian from the drop down menu.

For example, If your father is a State Government Employee
then, select "State Govt." from the drop down menu.
23. Civic Status of Native Place: Select Civic Status of Native
Place from the drop down menu.
For example, If your native place is Town Panchayat, then,
select" Town Panchayat" from the drop down menu.
24. Civic Status of Place of School: Select Civic Status of place
of School from the drop down menu.

For example, If your School is located in the Corporation Limit
then, select "Corporation" from the drop down menu.

25. Native District: Select your Native District from the drop
down menu.

For example, If your Native District is Tuticorin then, select
"Tuticorin" from the given drop down menu.

STEP 7: After completing STEP 6, you have two options either you can Save and Exit by clicking the "Save and Logout" button
(or) you can save and Preview by clicking the "Save & Preview “button. Incase, you click the “Save & Preview” button
then the Note will be displayed as shown in the screenshot below.

If you want to see preview, then click “OK” button.

After clicking “OK” button, the Preview of the filled part of application will displayed as shown in the screenshot below.

If you want to change any details If you want to Pay & Continue your If you want to Exit your application
or any corrections in your personal application by clicking the “Save & by clicking the “Exit” button

If any corrections are there, then click “EDIT Personal Details”. The following page will open up, you can edit or do the corrections.
After corrections are made then click “Save & Preview” button.

STEP 8: After verification of preview page, Click on “Save & Continue to Pay” button. Then select anyone of the payment gateway
and proceed further steps for payment.

.NOTE: After successful payment only, you are allowed navigate to next screen for entering Academic Details.

If you are a student who has appeared for
2017 exams, then you will be able to fill the
Academic Details after the publication of
12th standard results. Do not fill fake marks
and generate a printout. You will not be
able to edit your marks later.

STEP 9: After payment enter the Academic Details as shown as below.

26. If you have studied VIII, IX, X, XI & XII standard in
Tamil Nadu then, select the radio button "yes".

27. Enter the detail of your school of study such as
Year of Passing, Name of the School, District &
State of School in the space provided. All Columns
should be filled.

28. Select the Qualifying Examination from the drop
down menu. For example, If you have passed
Tamil Nadu HSC Academic, select the same from
the drop down menu.

29. Select Name of the Board of Examination which
you have studied from the Drop Down. For
example, if you have studied under Tamil Nadu
Board of HSC, select "Tamil Nadu Board of Higher
Secondary Education" from the drop down menu.

30. If you have passed the qualifying examination,
select the radio button "Yes".

31. Details of the Qualifying Examination: Enter the
Registration Number, Month and Year of passing.

32. If you select TN HSC Academic, the table for Academic Mark Details will enabled. Then enter the Marks of the Subjects and Group Code
of HSC (Academic) / Equivalent Examination Marks of the subjects as given in the Mark sheet in the appropriate field.

(or)

If you select TN HSC Vocational, then enter the HSC (Vocational) Examination Marks of the subjects and Group Code as given in the Mark
Sheet in the appropriate field.

STEP 10: If you are not completed the application/not filled correctly and decision to make changes in the application, Select
"Save and Logout".

STEP 11: If you completed filling of application, select "Save & Preview". Then the Note will pop up as “Your Entered data is to be
saved!!!”. Now Click “OK” button to preview your academic details.

When you have clicked “OK” Button then, the filled application will displayed as below.

If you want to Pay & Continue your
application by clicking the “Save &
Continue to Pay” button

If you want to change any details If you want to Exit your application
or any corrections in your by clicking the “Exit” button
academic details by clicking the
“EDIT Academic Details” button

After verification of Application preview, Click “Generate Application TNEA 2017” button.

Then the Note will pop up as shown in the screenshot below.

Just generating the application for TNEA 2017 alone or mere Registration of
online application is inadequate and it will not be considered for ranking.
Henceforth, the candidates are directed to submit/sent the printout of the
filled in downloaded application which is complete in all aspects along with
required enclosures to " The Secretary TNEA, Anna University, Chennai 600
025 " by post/or in person, so as to reach the following address on or before
the 03.06.2017 closing date indicated in the notification.

Click the “Confirm” button.

Application will be generated as follows.





STEP 12: While printing the Application, along with application an additional information slip is also available, which should be pasted on
the A4 Cover. The Printed application (Hard copy) along with below mentioned certificates/forms should be inserted in the
Cover and sent to the "THE SECRETARY, TNEA, ANNA UNIVERSITY, CHENNAI - 600 025" on or before 03.06.2017.

1. Special Reservation Form (s) and photocopy of the Relevant Certificate (s) – If applicable
2. 10th Mark Sheet *(photocopy)
3. HSC / Equivalent Mark Sheet* (photocopy)
4. Transfer Certificate* (photocopy)
5. Permanent Community Certificate Card for ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC and BCM (either Permanent

card or electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate) (photocopy)
6. HSC Hall Ticket *(photocopy)
7. Nativity Certificate (photocopy) only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate –

If applicable
8. First Graduate Certificate and First Graduate Joint Declaration (photocopy) (only in electronic

form/digitally signed e-Certificate) – If applicable
9. Srilankan Tamil Refugee certificate (photocopy) – If applicable

* Candidates appeared for HSC / Equivalent examination in March 2017 must produce Original Mark sheet and TC at the time of counseling. However,
downloaded copy of the mark sheet should be enclosed, others to enclose a copy of Mark sheet and TC.

NOTE: The online applications for Eminent Sports Persons quota should be submitted with all Enclosures/Documents related to sports, IN
PERSON at the office of the Secretary (TNEA). Such applications received by post or courier will not be considered and will be rejected.
