4JW have worked extremely hard on various styles of poetry over the Summer 2
term. Here is a copy of our anthology of work, some of which is accompanied by
our own art work to illustrate our poems.

We’ve been away from school,
But that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped,
Just swapped our room for online learning,
And lessons still just popped!

Still had English, Science, Maths and French,
They worked us to the bone!
Topic, DT, Wellbeing Wednesday,
Some time in our chill out zone…

Now Summer 2 has come ‘round so quick,
Bake Off, Britannia and geometry,
So while we wait to get back in,

The clever one party
Has the power noisy , loud
Excellent Shouting,screaming,talking
Quick thinker Sprinting like crazy monkeys
Useful one celebration
Everlasting one Thunderstorm
Enthusiastic Flashing,light
Never lying one Loud and white,light
Quickly flashing from sky
It crushes in my mouth
Crushing and dissolving in my flames

Eat in taste
Crystal liquid shining in my mouth 2 Phone
Rushing cold ice liquid coming and 4 always ringing

The Magic Box

Crashing, Booming I will put in my box,
Rumbling, Stormy, Deluge The rich bar of darkest chocolate
Rain flooded our gutters The bright star, fresh from space
A small drop of DNA.
Darkness I will put in my box,
The finest grain of yellow sand,
Something that I cannot touch with

my hand,
The wing from a pegasus.

I will put in my box,
A huge blue whale,
From a wooden boat, its greenish

sail,
An unborn baby.
I will put in my box,
The bottle that lies on my shelf,
A rather cheeky elf,
And an old coin.
My box is ocean blue,
It is made out of me, and you,
And the front is decorated with star-

dust.
I shall fly on my box,
Up and up past the great mountain-

like clouds,
Even higher, to the land of the proud.

SUMMER

Sunshine in the garden
Umbrellas packed away
More time to chill
More time to play
Eating lots of ice cream
Relaxing in the garden

I made myself a snowball
As perfect as could be
I thought I’d keep it as a pet
And I let it sleep with me
I made it some PAJAMAS
And a pillow for it’s head

The first few weeks of lockdown I found really fun, Sea
It felt as though my summer holidays had already begun. Deep, blue
There was no mad rush in the morning, Swimming, sailing, reflecting
But I still rolled out of bed yawning. Stretching out for miles
I started doing PE with Joe,
But had to stop because I stubbed my toe. Ocean
The kitchen table became our school,
In the garden we set up the pool.
We’ve had really sunny weather,
And spent lots of time together.
We’ve eaten lots of yummy food for breakfast, lunch and
dinner,
None of us are getting any thinner!
But now I really miss my friends,
And I'm looking forward to when lockdown ends.
Let's hope everyone now understands,
The importance of washing your hands!

The sound of giggling friends in the afternoon sunshine.

The dolphins I can swim with and their silky smooth skin.
