DEAR TEACHERS,
A LETTER FROM THE SENIORS
writing ryan welch| design athena heckman
Dear Teachers,
High school is full of wonderful experiences. From learning to drive, going to
sporting events, and spending time with our friends, the memories we have made these
past four years will be with us for the rest of our lives. But you, our teachers, are what
make high school so special. You have guided us through these years, never losing faith in
us. Even when we come into your rooms stressed out and wanting to give up, you consis-
tently inspire us and push us to be the best versions of ourselves. When we are struggling
and lost, you guide us back onto the right path.
“I had an idea of what I wanted to do in the future going into high school, but through
my classes with Mrs. Phillips, I was able to realize that sports journalism is exactly what I
want to do. She was always so kind and helpful whenever I was confused or needed help,”
senior Grace Poorbaugh said.
Thank you for going above and beyond what is expected and impacting students’
“My favorite memory with a teacher is when Mrs. Gilbert cooked all her classes breakfast
before the AP Bio exam and it was just really nice,” senior Kanika Khatri said. It’s these mo-
ments that stay with us forever.
Thank you for always supporting and encouraging us throughout high school.
Thank you for all the fun memories we have created together. Seniors Katelin
Shane and Mackenzie Mathews said that a favorite memory from high school was going to
Mrs. Cable’s room to eat lunch every day.
“Mrs. Cable is not only insanely good at teaching but seriously one of the best people I’ve
ever met,” Mathews said. “She is understanding and knows how to look at things from
multiple points of view.”
Thank you for all the silly moments that can always look back at and laugh. “I remember
sophomore year when Mr. Daugherty tripped on a backpack,” senior Matt Brady said.
Thank you to all the teachers who had to deal with our senior class. You stuck with
us for the past four years, and we are so thankful for you all. You have watched us grow up
from being tiny freshmen to young adults. As we move on to the next chapter in our lives,
we thank you for all of the support and love you have shown us. We would not be where
we are today without the guidance of each of you. Thank you.
Sincerely,
The Class of 2020
