LEO TALES The BulletinI joined the Leo movement in 2024, and eventhough my time here has been relatively short,it has been immensely enriching. From the very beginning, I was welcomed into a vibrant community of passionate and dedicated individuals who share a common goal: to make a positive impact on the society around us. My passion for joining the club was sparked by the inspiring and impactful work I saw in the project videos. These glimpses into the meaningful contributions of Leos gave me a compelling reason to become part of this family and to contribute, even in a small way, to society. Working with the Leo Club has provided me with numerous opportunities to engage in a wide range of projects and initiatives. The first project that I participated in as a new Leo in, "Playful Minds," where we spent quality time with young children, was particularly inspiring. It fuelled my enthusiasm for participating in other projects and creating cherished memories along this journey. Collaborating with fellow Leos has taughtme the true power of teamwork and the importance of empathy and understanding. Each project has brought its own set of challenges and rewards, imparting valuable lessons about leadership, perseverance, and the impact of collective effort. Although I am involvedin various societies at my university, the Leo Club uniquely combines love, meaning, and experience. These experiences have not only strengthened my problem- solving and organizational skills but also deepened my commitment to social responsibility. Moreover, my involvement in the Leo Club has introduced me to inspiring individuals from diverse backgrounds. Theirstories, wisdom, and experiences have enriched my perspective and motivated me to strive for excellence in all my endeavours. Leo Tharushi Boteju Club Assistant Secretary 2024/2025. | Page 09

On February 19, 2025, we successfully conducted Project Teeth Talk at Hemamali Balika Vidyalaya, Maligawatta, focusing on promoting oral hygiene and ensuring better dental health for students. Recognizing the importance of proper dental care from a young age, we organized a comprehensive dental check-up and provided necessary treatments for the students. Many children lack access to regular dental care, leading to oral health issues that can affect their overall well-being. Through Project Teeth Talk, we aimed to address this concern by not only offering free checkups and treatments but also educating students on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene. The initiative was met with great enthusiasm, and students gained valuable knowledge about proper brushing techniques, cavity prevention, and healthy dietary habits. This project reinforced our commitment to ensuring every child receives essential healthcare services and highlighted the significance of preventive dental care for a healthier future. On February 16, 2025, we successfully conducted project Step to Success at Kanichchagala Primary School, Aranaganwila, with the goal of supporting students in their educational journey. Understanding the importance of proper learning materials, we provided a complete set of stationery items that would fulfill each student's academic needs for an entire year. Education is the key to a brighter future, but many children in underprivileged areas struggle due to a lack of essential school supplies. Through this initiative, we aimed to lighten their burden and encourage them to focus on learning without worry. In addition to the stationery donations, we also treated the students with delicious desserts, bringing smiles to their faces and making the day even more special. Step to Success was more than just a donation; it was a step towards nurturing dreams, fostering hope, and ensuring every child has the tools they need to achieve success. This project stands as a reminder that small efforts can create a lasting impact in shaping the future of young minds. The Bulletin | Page 15 Step to Success

On February 16th, we successfully conducted Project Thuina at Kanichchagala Primary School and Kakuluwela Primary School, aiming to provide pure drinking water to students in these communities. Understanding that every single student deserves access to safe drinking water, we installed water purification systems to ensure they receive clean and safe water daily. In this region, many people, including schoolchildren, suffer from kidney failures due to contaminated drinking water. The lack of access to clean water has severely impacted their health and well-being. Recognizing this urgent issue, we took the initiative to implement a sustainable solution, ensuring a healthier future for these students. Through Project Thuina, we not only provided a necessity but also created awareness about the importance of clean water. This project stands as a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact on society. By addressing this critical issue, we hope to inspire more efforts toward sustainable solutions for communities in need. The Bulletin | Page 16 තුහින

Based on Stephen King's 1980 short story, the film stars Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Christian Convery, Colin O'Brien, Rohan Campbell, Sarah Levy, Adam Scott, and Elijah Wood. It follows twin brothers whose lives are turned upside down by a cursed toy monkey that causes random horrific deaths around them. Going into the 2023 Cannes Film Market, financer Black Bear Pictures announced that a film adaptation of "The Monkey" was in development and up for sale to distributors.[9] Osgood Perkins was hired to write and direct, and James Wan would produce under his Atomic Monster banner. Theo James was cast in the lead role.[10] In March 2024, Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Christian Convery, Colin O'Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy were revealed to have joined the cast | Page 25 The Bulletin THE MONKEY
