WARM-UP

• Students will run two warm up laps
to get the blood moving and getting
ready for the activites.

• Students will do a 5-minute stretch
before we start activities.

OCTOPUS

• Students line up on one side of the playing area. Choose two octopus;
• - The octopus stands in the middle of the playing area. The octopus then yells “octopus” and

everyone must run to the other side of the ocean where they are safe from being caught;
• - If a student gets caught they then sit where they get caught and become seaweed. Seaweed are

allowed to help the octopus by remaining seated but their seaweed limbs can reach out and touch the
“fish” as they run by. If they catch a fish they too must sit and become seaweed
• Time: 10 mins
• Space Requirement: Half Court
• Equipment: None
• Skill Focus: Hand Eye Coordination

HUMAN ALPHABET

• Divide the class up into groups of 4-5
• They will be given a letter from the alphabet

to spell with their bodies and they have to
beat the other team but forming their letters
to the team with the most points win.
• Time: 5-10 mins
• Space Requirement: Half Court Gym
• Equipment: None
• Skill Focus: Body Movement

SECURE THE BASKET

• Class break up into teams evenly and be
given a number. I will call out a number
and that number from both teams must
run and try to make the basket, if they do,
they receive the point.

• Time: 10 mins
• Space Requirement: Half Court
• Equipment: Basketball
• Skill Focus: Shooting

MINGLE

• Everyone will start out by walking around the gym. I will
then yell out a random number and they must run and get
into the group if a student doesn’t make it into a group then
they are out.And I would keep going until only 2 students
are left and they are the winners.

• Time: 10 mins
• Space Requirement: Entire Gym
• Equipment: None
• Skill Focus: Communication and Listening

PEOPLE TO PEOPLE

• Everyone will find a partner and stand facing each
other.After everyone has their partner then I will
call out combinations such as elbow to knee and
back to back and they must do it with their partner.
When I say people to people, they must find a new
partner.

• Time: 10 mins
• Space Requirement: Half Gym
• Equipment: None
• Skill Focus: Listening and Coordination

HUMAN KNOT

• Split the class into group of 4-5.They will then
circle up each player will put their left hand in the
circle and grab another players hand and do the
same with the right hand.After that they must work
together to untangle themselves before the other
team does.

GUESS THE LEADER

• Everyone will be circled up and one person will be
the guesser.The guesser will step away so they can't
see or hear who was picked as the leader.They will
come back and stand in the middle of the circle and
the other players will follow any moves that the
leader does while the guesser tries to guess who it
is.

KING OF THE COURT

• Everyone will stand behind the midpoint line.You will try to
shoot the ball into the goal ig you make it you will be the
king of the court. If someone else make the shot then they
will take the king spot, the former king has the ability
reclaim their position if they can shoot a goal.

• Equipment: Basketball
• Skill Focus: Shooting
• Time: 10 mins
• Space Requirement: Half basketball court.

MOVE TOGETHER

• Every student will find a partner each
partner will get a ballon/ball and will use
everything but their hands to make it
across the room to the other side. If the
ballon/ball falls then they must start over.

• Time: 5-10 mins
• Space Requirement: Half Court
• Equipment: Balloons/ Balls
• Skill Focus: Balance

SPOON RACE

• The students will be divided into two groups and stand behind a
cone they must then take the spoon with the ball/egg and try to
walk around the cones without dropping the ball/egg. If it is
dropped the student will have to go back and try again.

• Time: 10 mins
• Space Requirement: Outside (If using a egg)/ Ball
• Equipment: Spoon, Egg , Ball
• Skill Focus: Balance

ON THE BOAT

• The students will spread out across the gym half
way and face the teacher.The teacher will act as the
captain. If the teacher yells “Captain’s Coming” they
must salute. If the teacher yells “to the shore” the
students will run to the left ,”to the ship” they will
run to the right.“ Walk the Plank” five students will
get into a single file line and put their hands on each
other shoulders.

• Skill Focus: Listening

FOUR SQUARES

• The students will go outside to the concrete where
I have drawn 4 squares.They will form a line and
start with the first four the goal is to keep the ball
inside but if it bounces in your square 2 or you push
it out then you will go to the end of the line and
everyone in a square will rotate.

• Time: 10 mins
• Space Requirement: Outside
• Equipment: Basketball/ Ball
• Skill Focus: Dribbling and Moving Fast
